The Brief Liberation of Marianna

"Mr Princess, I can't accompany you today" Anna said as she combed Alice's reddish-blue hair. On his right and left the servants helped to manage other things. Meanwhile, Alice sat quietly in front of her mirror while reading a book.

"Hm, what's wrong?" alice asked without taking her eyes off. He turned the page he had just finished reading.

"I have an important task to do," replied Anna softly. Alice still did not look. He stopped reading for a moment when he asked again, "What is the task related to Marianna City?"

"Yes, Miss," Anna braided Alice's hair bangs backwards. Alice smiled, allowing. "Just do. I'll ask for a report from you later."

"Thank you, Miss. However, I'm afraid I won't be able to report to you" Anna said, focusing on finishing Alice's makeup. There really is nothing special today. Alice would work as usual after dancing and having breakfast with her friends. When they leave for the academy, Alice will study at the Pearl Palace with the Amtenar. Of course after the report he received was read.

"Thank you for your hard work" Alice said casually. A sweet smile fell on her lips. A smile that could only be seen by the people of the Pearl Palace. "You can go now, madam."

"Hah.. at least make sure the condition of Marianna City is stable first," Anna relented. He also asked Sifer to show the current condition of Marianna City. Shortly after, several screens appeared in Anna's eyes. The screens show live footage of Marianna City.

The Royal Knights of El Vierum were seen marching outside the fortress. The Navy's blockade encircles shipping lanes. The liberating troops from within the city had prepared for a fight.

On the other hand, a cucumber man looked uneasy. He was arguing with a muscular man in front of him. Too bad Anna couldn't hear what they were talking about. Suddenly, the man was strangled. Her tears flowed and her mouth was like a fish out of breath.

The man slammed him on the floor. It was obvious that he was in a big rage right now. He also drew his sword and in one swing, the cucumber man he slammed killed.

Inside the city, the liberating troops exclaimed. They came out of hiding and attacked every pirate in sight. There was violence inside the city and the fort. The pirates are getting harmed now.

The ships in the harbor have been burning since when. The burly man growled at seeing her. Thousands of arrows flew from the ocean. The unlucky pirates died instantly.

The war of the unbalanced fortress passed quickly. In the middle of the day, the liberators managed to open the gate. The knights went inside.

At the port, Navy ships can dock after all burned ships are cleared. Bodies were falling in almost every corner of the city. The battle was evenly distributed in almost every part of it.

Anna gave a final order to Sifer to further observe the situation. The man she told her to just nod without saying a word. The server was also shut down. The screens in Anna's eyes vanished and there was only one left.

Anna then contacted Maria. She remembered Alice had an appointment with her best friend to visit the Saville Trade Union in the capital. Maria's face appeared on the screen.

"Mr Princess, how about we ask the owner directly?" maria said with a cheerful smile on her face. A moment later, Alice's figure appeared. The camera was a little shaky at the time.

"How are you doing in Marianna City, sister?" ask Alice without further ado. Anna understood that her nona was trying to extract information from her friend. He simply said that the royal side had the upper hand now. "Unless something is unexpected, I'm sure the royal side will indeed."

"That's good news," Alice accepted without asking any more. He told Anna to follow him if there was no work. Anna received the order after getting enough rest.

The condition of Marianna City is chaotic. Some houses are burning. Some others are destroyed. Blood is pouring out on the streets. Bodies are falling everywhere.

There was no sight of the town until the afternoon. As the war unfolded, those who did not take part in the liberating forces hid huddled up wherever appropriate. They only came out after the knights and liberators called for victory.

Instead of being overwhelmed with happiness, most people cry. Either sad or overwhelmed. They buried the fallen bodies.

King Claudius conquered the castle without a fight. The nobles who had previously defected knelt down on him. They say that there is no way for them other than to give up.

"Then why don't you ask the capital for help?" asked King Claudius. He sat on the throne in the castle. The knights lined up neatly. Their swords were ready to be drawn at any moment. The nobles of Marianna City continued to kneel with trembling hands and feet.

"We continue to be watched" one of the nobles replied in a stammering manner. He bowed in not daring to look into the king's eyes. King Claudius ordered them to be investigated. They were placed under house arrest until their related decision was issued.

The next day, the leader of the liberating army faced the king. He thanked me and swore loyalty. King Claudius granted him the title of baronial nobleman and ordered him to renovate Marianna.

"I never thought this holiday was too short" King Claudius said after people left in his presence. Currently he was sitting alone in a workroom belonging to the previous city lord.

"You left all the work to the prime minister" an aide who was also a close friend of King Claudius commented, "You will probably get a scolding from Lord Crown Princess el Vierum when you get to the capital later."

"Arthur, I look forward to it" King Claudius replied with a longing smile.
