44. The Mysterious 'She'

[Author’s POV]

Kimberly sighed looking at Ruby and Rylan. Unlike usual, in the middle of the two of them like there is a blank distance that fits for 2 people.

Yeah, of course Kimberly knows why. He grabbed Ruby's wrist, “Yuk.” He said, then he took her in his arms, leaving Rylan behind those who were still standing with a sour face.

Coincidentally, the three of them were poking around on their way to the western AOM building. After putting their bike on, Kim went straight to Ruby, obviously knowing what was going on. Therefore, Kim immediately approached Ruby to entertain her. Rather troublesome actually, experiencing something like this while carrying out the most important mission.

As soon as he heard the clattering of steps behind Ruby and Kim, Kimberly snorted in annoyance, “Five meters behind!” he said loudly, making Rylan jerk, then took a few steps back with resignation.

“Just remember Ruby, once this mission is over, I'll make sure you never see her face again.” Kimberly whispered with a cynical look.

Ruby smiled thinly. Meeting Kimberly made him more relieved, because he did not have to be in an awkward position anymore with his ex-girlfriend.

Two guards standing firmly in front of the lobby of the western AOM building turned their heads, as they noticed the whereabouts of Kim, Ruby, and Rylan, they both bowed 90 degrees. Then one of them reported with his earzoom, when they got confirmation, they disabled the laser protection in front of the lobby entrance.

“Should just activate it when Rylan wants to pass later.” Kimberly muttered which made Ruby chuckle softly.

After the three of them entered, Kim immediately took Ruby to the elevator. The three of them are no strangers to the western AOM building. Although not often visited, but at least they still remember the way well.

With the design of the technology that makes the gawking, coming back to the building should be a pleasant visit.

Kim sighed disappointed, he had not seen the state of the special laboratory to examine the existence of extraterrestrials, especially if not aliens? And again, the lab was only here. West AOM building, United States.

“Waahh! You guys have come!” said the woman with a big smile. A second later, the big smile disappeared. He returned to his original expression. “Wait for what else? Sitting.” Tutored firmly. His aura changed immediately.

Right in front of them, Valerie and Zav sat next to each other. The faces of the two of them were no more depressed than Ruby's. Because among them, the most commonly affected mentally is Ruby.

The woman saw a hologram on the table in front of her. The hologram shows Claire's location and circumstances. Starting from the movements, until the conversation was clearly heard on the hologram.

Kimberly kept showing her flat expression. He ignored the woman's words in the least. But somehow, her words made Kimberly very relieved, to be honest, she was holding back a laugh.

He calmed down, no longer worrying about the future. Because it turns out the woman in front of him is not as smart as he thinks.

“How about Professor?” ask Rylan.

The woman gasped at Rylan's question, then laughed loudly.

“Do you really want to know?”

They all flinched, Zav kicked the table in a fit of rage. Even Valerie no longer held back Zav, she let him vent his emotions.

Val himself was inexhaustible, the woman would do such a thing.

Kimberly frowned in surprise at Zav who was venting his anger, because as far as possible, their plan was clear so that whatever happened, should just let it go. They are in a safe position after all.
