36. She.

[Author’s POV]

“Val, Nancy where?” Claire asked confusedly. He had just woken up from a deep sleep, but it was still early in the morning, but the bed next to him was empty. That bed is Nancy's place.

“She again.. she does like missing.” Val replied, wearing his shoes.

“Lah, that's where you're going early in the morning?” Claire yawned, her eyes still half-open, but the two roommates were gone.

Val fastened his straight hair, he looked like he was in a hurry. “You're jogging, hahahah! Asik, style.” Val laughed at himself. Considering he had never exercised outside of sports hours at school, usually, this Saturday morning, his days filled with sleep all day. Relieving the late fatigue strangles him on a typical day.

More precisely, strangling them all.

Claire chuckles, “I want to come, yeah?”

Val fell silent, then turned to Claire with a grin, “I made a deal with Zav.”

“Eh? Ooohh hahaha! want to date it turns out. Yes, I'm in the dorm, deh.” Said Claire. Then he immediately understood why Val seemed to be in such a hurry from now on.

Val is still grinning, “Hehehe.. sorry yes, Claire. Later sometime deh.” Said Val who was replied by a nod by Claire. Val walks towards the door, “I go first, yes! Bye!” then he came out of

dorm room.

Quickly, Val immediately ran towards the elevator, then exited the dorm building.

When Val came out, Zav was already standing in front of the female dormitory. Standing against the wall with his hands folded in front of his chest. There were some women passing by, whispering in admiration of Zav's good looks.

Val hastily approached him, “Duh, sorry yes lama.” Val turned to Zav, his facial features look not in the mood, “Anged, yes?” Ask Val.

Zav shook his head, then yawned. “Gak, coke. I'm still sleepy.” He then held Val's hand. “You eat first or directly?”

Val think for a minute, “Live it.” In an instant, his mood instantly decreased drastically, Val sighed tiredly. He was the most lazy to meet that man. But how else?

Seeing Val becoming lethargic, Zav embraces Val, making the distance between the two of them disappear. “Go first, yuk.” he said with a warm smile.

He knew Val must be lazy to meet the man, as well as himself.

Val turns confused, “But we have already tela-“

“Call it. Already, don't worry, if I'm the same you, he can't do anything.” Tutored firmly. Indeed, Val feels himself safe every time Zav is with him. But, there was something stuck in Valerie's heart.

“Do not take risks, we just come.” Val looked at Zav, trying to look ordinary. Though in his heart, he was also lazy not to play.

Zav looked at Val inside, knowing she was lying to herself. “Val,” call Zav, “you've started to love him, yes?”

Valerie stunned.

He must be evasive!

“T-tid..” he can not continue his sentence, “Ti..” he said try again. Still is. Val doesn't know why he can't say that easy. Val looked down, wrestling with his own thoughts.

Zav looked at Val with sadness, “Already.” He sighed. “I already know.”

“I also.” Zav continues to make Val jerk.

“Kimberly, Rylan, Ruby, let alone Jack. They feel the same way. There's no point in them hiding it from each other, I can instantly know how they feel just from their treatment of him.”

Zav chuckles small, “You want proof which one was?” he glances at Val, knowing Val is still out of words.

“Alright, I'll start with Ruby. She was the first to break the rules by pairing her supersonic waves on the girl to protect her.” Zav smiled, “Any isn't it?”

Valerie turned to Zav, “I-iya..”

“Jack. This one doesn't seem to need to be discussed. He has clearly crossed the line. Though his initial role was not as detailed as that, look at him now hahaha!” Zav laughs at his friend, Jack. With people it shouldn't be.

Val grinned slightly, if he thought about it, right too.

“Rylan. I'm not too sure how she feels, but, I did see her helping her in the moments of urgency."

“Then Kim, I met him yesterday. He looks very messy.”

Val rounded his eyes, “What really happened to him? Lately Kim looks very strange.” Val said worriedly.

Zav nodded, “Among us all, he is the most depressed, the future haunts him at all times. But I'm sure he's fine. Kim can always cope with everything.”

Val sighed. He agreed, Kimberly is indeed the woman who has the most important role among them, and as-’sak’ whatever she is, Kim still always ends up successfully overcoming everything.

“Then, did Kim also.. “ Val did not continue his question, he was sure Zav already knew his point.

“Remember when Apesta met Claire?” Ask Zav.

Val nodded.

“There was Kim then. I saw them both at the rooftop dorm. He was seen hiding Kim behind him, because the Apesta was wearing a hood that covered his eyes, so he thought, maybe by hiding Kim could make the Apesta not know if there was Kim there.”

Val furrowed his brows, “Why rooftop hostel?”

Zav smiled, “You understand what it means?”

“Kim tried to defy the rules, even the laws of nature..

“I don't know.. who's really wrong, and how it goes all this.” Zav stared at Valerie inside, “Don't we want to be free? Or... You don't want anymore?”

Val looked down, he thought for a moment. “I want to be free, Zav. But I also want to enjoy that freedom together.”

Zav chuckles, “I too, Val. But, you know, from the beginning, we were never destined to have such an easy destiny. We have to choose.”

The two of them were silent, staring at the clear sky that morning. Hope one day they can enjoy this kind of scenery.

“About, what future does Kim know that yes, Zav?” Ask Valerie. He breathed out, enjoying the fresh air around them. While we can.

Zav puts his shoulders and then smiles thinly, “Whatever it is, we have to be ready.” He said slowly and then turned his face away. “There will be a time when we will confess to each other, believe me.”

“So, Val... You don't have to be afraid, you don't have to hide anything from me.” Zav said sincerely. He smiled warmly.

Valerie nodded, she replied with her sweet smile. The tightness in his chest was gone, the burden on his shoulders was already lighter. He's more relieved now.

“Come!”
