The Untold Story of Tiberias

The Untold Story of Tiberias
The Wasted Knight

Although it looks ogah-ogahan, the man in black clothes was finally forced to take Nick to the city. He took off his face cover and now wears a large coat to cover his body. The man claimed to be Neil Graham, a hitman on assignment to execute Duke Lincoln's only son. That was why he attacked the little boy in the horse carriage earlier.

“Although it is a paid job, but you may agree to kill a child. More than that, such work is completely immoral,” Nick scolds who somehow feels that Neil is not actually a bad person.

“Well, I didn't know that the target was still a child. Duke Lincoln always hid his son. I just got word that his son he's hiding is coming to this city,” Neil said.

Nick clucked slowly. “Supposed people like you could work in a better place. Why choose to be a hit man. With your abilities, you can become a knight.”

Neil snorted softly. “When I was young I was also a royal knight. But since King Tiberias was deposed, all his followers were executed. I had to flee to survive. I am still ashamed of my actions. I have failed as a knight,” complained Neil as he glared down onto the desolate forest path. The city fortress was already visible not far from where they were walking. Soon Nick will see the bustle of a bustling big city.

“Everyone has a thing to keep alive. You did nothing wrong just by choosing to save yourself. After all, life is more important than self-esteem,”, Nick later said.

Neil laughed blandly. “It has been twenty years since then. I'm living on the run and getting paid by those jerks to do the dirty work for them. My life is even more useless than just self-esteem, ” said the man nanar.

“Nobody knows what the future will turn into. At least you have to stay alive to fix the error.”

Neil laughed again. “You're really wise to the size of a kid your age. Where did you say you came from?” tanyanya while watching Nick. Despite having a larger body than him, Nick is obviously much younger. Probably twenty years younger than Neil.

“I've lived in the Far Plains since childhood. My mom didn't tell me where I was from,” Nick replied as he was.

Neil frowned in surprise. “Distant land? There are people who live in places full of such monsters. You mean Laoban village? Reportedly the village has become better now since the river Philias flows again.”

Nick knew the village Neil was referring to was where he lived the last six months. But the village was clearly not from Nick to grow up as he is now.

“Not. Not that village. I lived on the far flats for twenty years. As I remember since I was very small,” said Nick correcting.

Neil was really shocked right now. Even so the man also knew that Nick would not lie for such a thing. Nick's way of sword, including the strength of his attack clearly shows that the young man who walked with him must have experienced many great battles against monsters. In the end, Neil was unwilling to believe Nick's confession.

“Wait first … . If you are indeed from the Far Plains, does that mean you are the prince who was banished twenty years ago?” ask Neil to try to match the facts he got. Instantly his body shuddered realizing that.

Neil halted his steps, then kneeled respectfully toward Nick. The young man was shocked and looked at Neil in surprise.

“What are you doing?” said confused.

“Yang .. His Highness the Prince. You are Prince Nicodemus Tiberias. Crown Prince and last descendant of the previous King. I never imagined I'd be able to meet you right now. I think you and Her Majesty the Queen already ... ” sigh Neil full haru.

Nick is getting confused. He shrugged Neil's shoulders and told him to stand up. “It's not true. Maybe you just misidentified. Not necessarily I'm the person you mean. How could I suddenly become a prince?” ask the young man and tell Neil to stand up.

Neil got up from his place kneeling with teary eyes full of haru taste. “No one else can stay in that monster-filled area. You and the Queen were banished there exactly twenty years ago. You were only three years old. All of those clues point to that possibility.

“And your ability in sword. It was not an ordinary ability possessed by an ordinary knight or swordsman. You must have trained by fighting the dangerous monsters in the Far Plains. Your strength has already proven that you are not lying,” Neil insisted.

Nick really never thought that the background of his life might be being a prince. During this time he was often curious about his origins, as well as about his mother who had died. But Calada, his mother, never told Nick about his past before he was in the Far Plains. Even so, Nick is still not entirely sure that he is a descendant of the previous king, even as the crown prince. It was too beyond his shadow.

“Good. We don't know if your estimate is correct or not. For now, I just want to see the lives of ordinary people. That's what my mom said. I was just told to study the lives of our people, humans. Therefore I am not too interested to discuss about my origin.”, Nick said later.

“Then so, you ...”

“Call me comfortably. It feels weird that an older person talks that polite to me,” cut Nick.

Neil still looks shy. However, he was very confident in his assumptions after being noticed, Nick also has eye color and hair color like the previous king. Silver hair and golden eyes. The two fusion were clearly only owned by the royal family, the person he had served once. But Nick certainly can't believe it right away. They just met. And Neil had already made a bad impression on their first meeting. In the end, Neil decided to observe Nick first.

“Good. All right then. I won't be too formal. But how did you survive on that monster-infested faraway plain? If Queen ... I mean your mother died as a child, who took care of you? The mother you said that to? who is he?” A series of questions immediately flooded Neil's mind. He still wants to make sure Nick's life all along.

Nick tells me everything, including Calada, the last surviving dragon in the world. Unsuspecting, Nick recounts his life like an innocent child. This is not the first time he has told me about his life. The villagers he helped all knew about it.

For Nick, it was no big deal, as he did not feel the need to hide the story. After all, he had never met with people who intended to harm him because of the facts about him who came from the Far Plains. Calada also never forbade Nick to hide the fact. Therefore Nick told me as if his life with a dragon was a very common thing.
