Absorption
After his body recovered and got enough exertion, Nick was finally ready to make his next move absorbing the energy from the dragon gem. Again he was called to face Calada in the training room. This time Calada will not turn into a dragon. His mother would teach Nick how to absorb the energy of the Dragon Gem into the body.
“The dragon energy in the gem is huge. When you were unconscious yesterday, I absorbed the pearls given by Ladon in exchange for the gems you took. For fellow dragons, the process was not difficult. But, for a human body like you, there may be side effects that are quite heavy. You will feel tremendous pain when this gem is absorbed into your body. It was because of the huge flow of energy that suddenly fused with you. If you're not strong enough to hold it in, you might die. How, Nick? Are you still going to do it?” ask Calada later.
Nick was silent for a moment while observing the red gem he was carrying. He knew that inside the gem was stored a huge amount of energy. He could certainly refuse his mother's offer, and choose the safe way not to use the gem. He is strong enough now.
However, if the goal is to become a king in the future, then the help of the jewel is very important. What Nick needs is not only strength, but also wisdom and insight as a king. The power of Calada's gem will certainly give him a lot of magic power that he didn't originally have.
With that ability, plus the wisdom that comes with it, Nick will be able to carry out his duties as King of the humans better. He will not be deceived by power, nor trapped by greed. The dragon gem will always make her soul holy and not be enamored of any worldly beauty or lust. Therefore, suffering or the possibility of death is a price worth paying for the good things.
Finally, confidently, Nick nodded. “I'm ready, Mom,” the answer is firm.
“Good. Now, sit cross-legged in the middle of this magic circle I've created. Hold my jewel on your lap. You simply close your eyes and concentrate on your breath. I'll start reciting the spell once you're ready,” Calada's orders later.
Nick complies and does as directed by his mother. He sat cross-legged on an intricate sihr circle engraved with letters in the dragon language. Nick puts a beautiful red gem on his lap, while still touching it with both hands. The young man then closed his eyes and began to regulate his breathing to make it rhythmic and calmer.
A few seconds later, Calada opened the ancient dragon magic book and began casting spells. The magic circle under Nick's body slowly shone with a dim red glow. The longer the light gets brighter so that it gives off a kind of energy flow similar to the sound of a soft wind and getting louder.
Nick felt the jewel on his lap slowly drift. His eyes are still closed. But instinctively, he knew that the jewel was now flying right in front of his chest. Warm feeling flowed every inch of Nick's body, until slowly, the jewel approached and began to penetrate into his body.
