The Untold Story of Tiberias

The Untold Story of Tiberias
Return Time

Twenty years have passed. Nick has grown into a strong young man both physically and mentally. Calada taught various things to his adopted son. Starting from trivial jobs such as cleaning the house to the most dangerous such as hunting monsters.

That morning Nick woke up alone. Calada is nowhere to be seen even though Nick has searched every corner of their house. The cave where Calada lives is very comfortable. It was built in the belly of a large hill with many branching rooms connected by stone-walled passageways.

During his life with Calada, Nick has explored all the contents in it. Although called a cave, but the whole room is very comfortable to live in. There's Nick's room on the outermost side, with a pair of small round windows perforating the hill walls. Then go inside, there are various other rooms such as the kitchen and fireplace, the room where food is stored. There is also a study room with a library full of books with shelves nearly ten meters high.

Most of the rooms were warehouses containing various kinds of human weapons, elves and even dwarves. Not to forget there is a room that is the largest right in the middle of all branches: the treasure room. Reportedly the dragons love everything that sparkles like gold and jewels. Calada's treasure room is proof of that.

The room is very large with hilly piles of treasures. Crowns, jewellery. Gems of all sorts Crystals and precious objects were loomed inside there without any lessening. Calada occasionally turned into his dragon form and then coiled comfortably on top of the pile of treasures. He said the sparkling objects were the most comfortable beds for dragons. What an expensive taste.

The part Nick liked the most was the weapon forging room. A large furnace was built in the room, following the entire equipment for making weapons. Forging tables or often called paron, hammer wrought and various quality material materials are available at that place.

Although as a human Nick does not have great magic qualities to make elemental weapons, Calada allows him to make his own little toys. Until one day, because Nick showed above-average sword skills, Calada began to seriously make Nick a sword with dragon magic energy.

Calada gave his most precious magic jewel of the treasure room as the main material of sword making. Occasionally the dragon also channeled his essence to strengthen the sword forged by his adopted son. After working for nine months, the great sword became. Nick named him Turpin.

The great sword of mithril, an extremely strong light metal of silver, was harder than any steel or iron. Mithril is also called the metal of the sky because of its incomparable power. Coupled with dragon essence and magic gems, Turpin would become the strongest sword in the entire continent.

“Actually where did mom go? He didn't leave breakfast for me,” muttered Nick after finishing washing himself in the lake near their cave.

The young man wore again his clothes which he had undone by the lake. His bare-chested body showed loamy and burly muscles. Nick is no longer a timid little boy who shakes every time he hears a monster's voice. Now he has become a very strong young man. His silvery hair had grown up to the length of his back. His gaze was sharp, with grey eyeballs glistening vigilantly.

The forest was quiet that day. There is no sound of birds usually chirping boisterously in the morning. Nick caught the disgust and grabbed his big sword lying on a big rock.

A loud noise provoked his attention. Nick twisted his body warily as he unsheathed the Turpin. The sword glittered golden because of the morning sunlight. Not long after, the sound of rustling dry leaves rinsed was heard getting louder and closer. The bushes in front of Nick were split open and gave rise to a two-headed snake monster.

The snake's head stood five meters tall and hissed ferociously while trying to attack Nick. The young man dodged so nimbly that one of the snake heads only managed to peck at the empty ground. The snake's attack produced a hole as big as a crater.

“Why this monster is diligent once to hunt when it is still morning,” grumbled Nick after landing on a big rock.

He watched the giant snake. It was probably about fifty meters long with a body as wide as a tree trunk. Nick was upset about having to waste energy in the morning when he was starving.

“You think you're the one who's the one who's the swelter, you rotten snake!” he shouted while meeting the monster with a drawn sword.

The snake hissed angrily and tried to peck at Nick once more. But Nick's great sword has unlimited power. In one flutter, the young man managed to decapitate one of the heads of the snake monster. Green blood splashed in all directions. The snake monster wriggled in pain and slithered away from Nick.

The frightened snake monster again hissed. He tried to escape, but Nick who was already emotional chasing after him and returned to finish Turpin. The monster then spouts can be an acidic liquid that immediately burns grass and trees around it. Nick managed to dodge at the right time.

“I'll make you a breakfast menu today,” grumbled Nick while tightly grasping the handle of his sword.

The next second the young man leaped as fast as lightning towards the injured snake monster. His movements were so fast that they could not be followed by the monster's eyes. Unwittingly, Nick was already on top of the snake monster's head with a raised sword.

While roaring loudly, Nick slammed Turpin right in the middle of the monster's head, splitting it in half. Again the sticky green blood gushed out and hit Nick's whole body. The monster fell and was killed in just two attacks.

“So today we will eat snake meat? Serpents and dragons are distant relatives. But I don't mind if you cook breakfast.” A female voice emerged from behind Nick's back.

The young man took a deep breath while wiping his face splashed with monster blood. “Why did you send this ugly monster? He only has two heads. Hydra should be three-headed. He seems to be unwell. Is the meat good to eat?” tanyanya is still a little upset.

“Lately there are rarely monsters who want to roam around here. All because you hunt too often. Ever since you had Turpin, you've had a strange hobby. You should have left some tails to breed. I can't even eat a giant boar anymore because of you,” complained the woman as she folded her hands and walked closer to the carcass of a giant snake.

Nick seemed sorry. Lately he was bored because there were not many things he could do other than hunt. All of the books in the dragon library had already been finished he had read. He was also no longer interested in forging weapons since owning Turpin.

“I'm sorry, Mother. Then let me cook breakfast.” Nick again sheathed the sword he had washed with the lake water. The young man approached the giant snake carcass and raised it with one hand. This food may only last until noon. The dragons have a great appetite, especially after bringing a hydra from the arid fields here.

“That's a great idea, Nick,” said the woman who turned out to be Calada, Nick's adoptive mother. The dragon who was in the form of a human was smiling warmly at his adopted son. “I think we'll be apart soon,” he said as he walked next to Nick.

The young man looked at his mother in confusion. “What does Mother mean? Where are you going?” tanyakanya.

Calada smiled faintly. The boy he raised twenty years old is an adult, but as his childhood is traumatized, Nick becomes so dependent on him. Little Nick witnessed the tragic deaths of his parents. Therefore now, as an adult, Nick becomes so protective of Calada. Though a dragon was clearly much stronger than any creature.

“Not me to go. But you, Nick,” said Calada softly.

Nick was confused. “I?”

Calada nodded in response. “It's time you got back to your kind, Nick. You must keep in mind that you are a human child.” Calada doesn't want Nick to end up like him. Lonely and alone. “Back to the human world,” he continued firmly.

Nick almost dropped the body of the snake he was carrying. But the young man managed to control himself. Even so, he did not answer Calada's words anymore. Nick walked in silence while dragging the body of the giant snake to leave a long trail on the ground.
