The pain was terrible to Nick. His chest burned to the heart. Blood spurted from all over the holes in his head, mouth, nose, ears even his two eyes. Nick tried to stay. He regulated his breathing in such a way that his energy flow did not leak. The energy leak could make any absorption process fail, and the dragon gem was precisely smashed into pieces.
Nick tried to stay in a cross-legged position. But now, the pain in his body is only getting worse. The young man finally could not bear it anymore and started shouting loudly, groaning in pain.
“Defend, Nick! Her energy gem has just absorbed half!” calada exclaimed trying to strengthen.
Nick continues to groan. His bare-chested body was already drenched in blood. His entire joint felt excruciating pain. His bones were like being forcefully broken and his muscles were pulled up to the point of almost breaking.
“Note your breath, Nick. Control yourself!” Calada again exclaimed in the middle of her spell.
A bright red light enveloped Nick's body. The magic circle engraved under his body was also a catalyst for the perfect absorption of energy. After the gem had almost entered the entirety of Nick's chest, the young man's body began to float a few centimeters from the stone floor of the cave.
Nick's moaning sound grew louder, as the pain grew more intense. Fresh blood continued to flow from every corner of his face, until finally, the terrible process was over. All the gems are perfectly absorbed in Nick's body, fusing with his soul and every cell that makes up his body.
Nick had managed to absorb the entire energy of the dragon gem. Instead, however, the young man fell down on the floor of the cave. He lost consciousness because he could not endure the pain.
It took ten full days until Nick finally regained consciousness. During that time, his body was struck by a high fever and vomited blood several times. Even in a fainting state, Nick gets a gripping nightmare.
Luckily the young man was finally able to wake up after Aerin who kept sending him healing energy uninterruptedly. The elf girl also looked exhausted after ten full days of accompanying and caring for Nick day and night. Nick finds her sitting by the bed, closing her eyes and extending her hands to drain the healing golden energy into Nick's body.
“Aerin .. ,” sighs Nick with a raucous voice.
Aerin opened her eyes. His pale and tyrannical face revealed an expression of great relief. “Nick ... You are conscious .. ,” muttered the girl with tears welling up. He hugged Nick, but apparently Aerin was also at his own limits.
The elf girl fell unconscious from exhaustion. Quickly, Neil, who was also in Nick's bed room, caught Aerin's sagging body falling from the chair.
“Thank God you're sober, Nick. Aerin is really worried about you,” said Neil who also took care of Nick day and night.
“Aerin ... is he okay?” ask Nick who is still weak and difficult to move.
“He's just exhausted. Don'worry. After enough rest, Aerin will return as usual,” replied Neil while carrying Aerin's body and then take him to another room.
