The injuries on Nick's body forced him to move slower to return to the village. His broken leg he was temporarily sullen with thick tree branches so as not to get worse. While the wound on his shoulder only he covered with a piece of cloth from his torn clothes. Nick threw away his already broken armor. Now the young man walked bare-chested while carrying his great sword.
Nick's burly body with clay muscles looked very gallant even though he was not wearing his armor. After arriving at the river that restricts the village, Nick washes his face while checking the poison content that may still remain. It would be dangerous if the people drank it.
But the water is clear. It is completely safe to consume. The young man washed all the wounds on his body and started crossing over to the village. His arrival was greeted by a crowd of people cheering on the riverbank. They called for gratitude to Nick for saving their village from the threat of drought. The village chief approached Nick with a haru expression.
“Thank you, young traveler. Thanks to your help, we can continue our lives in this village. All residents will always remember your kindness,” said the village chief.
Nick just smiled thinly. This is the first time Nick has done anything for anyone else. He was adored by the humans he had just met. Apparently that feeling was quite pleasant.
After that, the residents immediately began to build their lives again. Nick was given a fairly large cottage in the village. Every day the villagers come in turn to help care for Nick's wounds to recover fully. Other sick people also gradually improved and the outbreak was no longer a problem.
Nick lived in the village for six months. He helped build new houses for the citizens, including teaching them how to forge swords. The ready-made swords were given to the young people of the village and Nick also trained them well.
Thanks to Nick's arrival, life in the village became more advanced and prosperous. People could make ends meet, and the young people who could have swords played a role in protecting the village from monster attacks across the river.
Staying in that place made Nick feel peaceful and at ease. But he felt it was time for him to leave. The adventure is still long, and Nick also wants to explore a wider area of the human world. So, just as spring came, Nick finally left the village secretly.
The young man went back through the forest. The village chief once told Nick that behind the forest was a town where rich people lived. That's where Nick goes. He sped quickly through the forest and in the middle of the journey, Nick suddenly met with a horse-drawn carriage carrying a complete line of soldiers.
Nick stopped his steps. The horse-drawn carriage looks luxurious in the middle of a hot day. The entire body of the carriage was painted in white and gold ornaments. There were at least eight horse knights accompanying him. All the knights were dressed in green uniforms and armed with swords.
There is nothing strange about this line. They seem to have made a long journey. The guards were protecting an important person in the carriage. I don't know who that was. But what makes Nick feel disturbed is because he felt the presence of one other person from behind the forest across the path. The person had extremely strong killing intent, and was definitely not from any of the convoys.
Nick did not try to intervene. He just stood watching while hiding behind the forest. Until at the end, someone in all black clothes with a face cover suddenly appeared from behind a large tree.
The mysterious man immediately attacked the guard knights until a small battle broke out between them. Desing swords clashed to color the place. The black-clothed man alone fought the eight horse knights with full armor. Amazingly, the mysterious man was able to match the eight knights who attacked him deftly.
In a short time, the five knights were successfully killed with just a few slashes. Three others were injured and fell off the horse. Their horses also neighed in fear and immediately ran into the forest. The luxury carriage fell when the coachman was killed and his towing horse came off. From inside there came a little boy, probably still eight years old, who was cowering in fear in the arms of a female servant.
The clink of iron clenched deafening. Turpin successfully dispels an attempted murder of an innocent child. Meanwhile, the mysterious man who was a little surprised, returned to direct his attack to Nick. They both began to duel.
Nick has never fought with anyone else. He only trained his sword skills while eliminating giant monsters. Therefore, technically sword, Nick can not keep up with the mysterious man. The man can perform agile maneuvers that efficiently attack his opponent's weak point. While Nick's attacks focus on large forces with a wide range.
Nick could have killed the man with a single slash. But he does not want to hurt his fellow men. More weak than him. At least there should be a reasonable reason for Nick to decide to kill someone. Though he is now just a passer-by who does not know sitting problems in that place.
In the end, after for some time Nick served the mysterious man playing the sword, the man was overwhelmed. He intends to escape and stop the fight, but Nick immediately prevents him. Nick launches one ultimate attack and gets the mysterious man's sword thrown off. Turpin was unsheathed right at the neck of the man in black.
“Who are you? Why did you interfere? Are you the shadow knight of the Duke?” attack the man while lying on the ground.
“I'm just a wanderer who happens to pass by,” replied Nick lightly.
“Traveler? Then why are you interfering! You don't even know me or that little boy.” The mysterious man exclaimed in disdain.
“Are you not ashamed of trying to kill a helpless child and woman?” furious Nick sharp.
The man was silent. He threw a glance at the overturned horse carriage. The little boy disappeared with his nanny. They must have run into town. While screeching, the man stood up, then removed his face cover. Nick's sword followed the man's movements, but made no attempt to attack him again.
“Good. Lower sword. We don't have any problems. So now let me go,” said the man. He had a large scar near his lips. Crossing from ear to chin. The wound must have been so severe it had been that big.
“I can't let you go and chase that little boy. As a swordsman, you should be ashamed of this attitude, ” said Nick again sheathed Turpin.
The mysterious man snorted short. “Truly annoying person. You've disrupted my work. So what do you want now?”
Nick smiled in response. “Antar me to the city,” he said later.
