“What happened?” ask Nick later.
“As you know, I ended up on the black market. I was so stupid that I could trust those people. They framed me, saying that it would help me hide my identity as an elf, so that I could travel around in human cities safely. But apparently I was actually locked up with a magic seal that held my power,” furious Aerin looked angry. His eyes glistened with vengeance.
Nick is a bit of a babnyak can understand Aerin's anger. No wonder that the elves had avoided her so much after experiencing such bleak times. Of course it would not be easy for Aerin to believe it. Nick better not force it.
“I'll go hunting to find food,” Neil said later. The mercenary also darted away with his sword, intending to find a deer or a fat boar.
Nick was left alone with Aerin. Still taking care of the wound on Aerin's leg gently, Nick tried to continue the conversation.
“What's your plan after this?” ask Nick later.
Aerin shuffled on the rock he was sitting on. “I want to go back to my tribe. But I'm afraid they won't accept me anymore,” replied the elven girl grimly.
Nick looked up, staring at Aerin's grim face. A sense of sympathy grew in his heart. “You have no place to go back?”
Aerin nodded weakly. “Sort of that,” he said full of pain.
“I won't force it, but if you feel comfortable, you can come with us,” Nick said later.
Aerin stared fixedly at Nick, trying to investigate the motivation of the young man before him. But the elven girl found nothing. Nick spoke without coercion, neither trying to persuade him. Only acceptance, which is non-judgmental.
Not yet Aerin answered, Nick has risen to his feet. He had finished smashing the wound on the elf girl's leg. The two no longer talk to each other because after finishing treating Aerin, the young man was preoccupied with washing himself in the river.
With straightforward, Nick has immediately removed his upper clothes, featuring proportional upper body muscles and full of clay muscles. Aerin hurriedly threw away his face when he saw Nick take off his shirt. The young man immediately threw himself into the river, while Aerin tried to turn his eyes away with a reddened face.
Fifteen minutes later, Neil came carrying a dead deer with a dagger stuck in his neck. Apparently, the mercenary had managed to get a fat manhunt for their group's lunch.
Watching Nick showering unceremoniously in front of Aerin, Neil hurriedly reprimanded him. “How can you shower in front of a girl!” exclaimed the man while throwing the venison he was carrying.
Nick looked at me casually. He then started walking to the edge with wet body and hair. “I didn't take off all my clothes. After all what can be seen from the body of a man?” nick took a piece of cloth that he used to dry his body.
“That's not the problem. You're making Aerin uncomfortable. Act correctly,” scolds Neil while ruffling his waist.
“What are we going to do now, Nick? You've seen how bad this continent is in the power of that despotic king. are you really going to let it go?” ask Neil to open the conversation.
A crack of burning wood from a campfire used to burn meat enveloped the pause before Nick replied. He has seen a lot of suffering in the human world. Although he knew that what he had seen so far was not all. There may be much more darkness surrounding human life across the continent.
However, Nick still can not carelessly act. The fact that he was a descendant of the ruler of Tiberias still did not fully make him believe. Nick grew up as the dragon's son, Calada. He had no memories of his childhood before that. Therefore, the role as heir to the throne that was suddenly attached to him, still did not fully make Nick sure. For that reason, he also hesitated if he suddenly had to do a power struggle with people he did not know well.
“I'll be back to the far plain plain,” Nick later revealed.
Neil was surprised. The man almost dropped the wood that was used to flip back the roasted venison.
“Distant land? You're going back to the dragon's lair? You ... will leave Tiberias just like that? Let go of all your responsibilities as heir?” lamented Neil who involuntarily began to speak so politely to Nick.
Nick sighed softly. “Not so I mean. I just wanted to make sure of something with my mom. He can definitely give me answers to a lot of things I don't know yet. After everything is clear enough, I will decide the next step,” the bright young man was long.
Neil nodded in relief. “Yeah, I think that's a good thing. Dragons are also famous for their wisdom. Surely your mother will give us useful advice,” she revealed while relaxing muscle tension.
“Heir to the throne? The dragon? Who exactly are you guys?” chirps Aerin who had just been silent listening.
Nick and Neil looked at each other. From the beginning they did not intend to hide their identity from Aerin. After all, the elves did not have anyone to conspire against the two of them. That's why Neil finally told Aerin their condition, of course after getting approval from Nick.
“How can I fix your words?” tanya Aerin was full of probes.
“From the beginning we had no intention of talking about this with you. It's up to you to believe it or not,” Nick said lightly.
“Not make sense. How could the dragon still be alive. Their whole race has been gone a long time,” Aerin murmured more to himself.
Neil, in addition, just took a deep breath while thinking of ways to avoid future problems because of the elf girl they just knew.
“I know, this must be surprising. Anyone who heard the story would definitely think that it was just a joke. We don't force you to believe, or even go with us. You're free now. That's why you can go wherever you want. You don't have to follow us anymore,” Neil said trying to pick a word carefully.
Nick glanced at the soldier's clothes and strapping. It seems that Neil did not really like the newcomers in their group. Even so, how could he ignore such a wounded girl? In the end, Nick decided not to comment. Now it's up to Aerin. He was sympathetic to the elf girl. However, that does not mean Nick can force him to do things he does not want.
