The Untold Story of Tiberias

The Untold Story of Tiberias
Re-meeting

“You ... were even very old when I was born. With that age, you might fall for the cheap tricks of the black market. Technically you're a granny!” neil did not accept.

“Elf has their own age standard, Neil. I often read the literature about their nation when living with my mother in the dragon cave. One hundred and twenty-three for an elf was roughly the same as a human of about sixteen or seventeen years old. Am I right, Aerin?” get Nick later.

Aerin nodded steadily. “You should have studied more diligently, Neil. Example Nick. He's not only good at fighting. His knowledge is also vast and he is very intelligent,” reproaches the girl on Neil.

Neil sighed lazily. “I don't have time to do such things. My life is just full of fights and murders,” murmured later.

“We're almost there,” cut Nick later.

The three people were now at the mouth of the cave, the entrance to the residence of Calada the dragon. Nick led the way to enter the place. A warm living room with a brightly lit fireplace greeted them. There was no one there, but Nick could feel Calada's presence nearby.

“You're home, Nick?” Suddenly, Calada's voice emerged from the side of the room.

The female dragon emerged from the non-constrained round door that led to the dining room. Calada stands up to greet his son and Nick's other two travel companions in a beautiful human-faced figure with a powerful aura that makes anyone feel disinclined. Even so, Nick did not feel intimidated by the Calada's strength at all. Instead, the young man just poured into the arms of his mother like a child who just returned to his hometown.

“During not seeing you, Mother. You look healthy,” said Nick who is now a little higher than Calada.

The dragon patted Nick's back lovingly. “The monsters announce your return. They have been running around in panic since you set foot on this island,” Calada said as he let go of his embrace.

“Ah, so that's why you've prepared my favorite meal?” suhut Nick who has smelled the aroma of his favorite thick soup.

“I also prepared the dish for your friends,” Calada said as he glanced at Neil and Aerin who were still standing awkwardly at the end of the room.

“Ah, sorry, I forgot to introduce you guys. Mom, this is Neil Graham. He was a former knight of the kingdom of Tiberias. Humans like me. Then this is Aerin, from the elf tribe,” said Nick introduced two friends.

“Thank you for visiting this place. And thank you for being friends, Nick,” welcome Calada friendly.

“We have been helped by Nick a lot. Therefore we are the ones to thank,” replied Neil politely.

After being friendly for a while, they finally sat together at the dinner table and enjoyed the dishes made by Calada. Despite living for hundreds of years as a dragon, Calada's cooking ability is second to none. Especially after raising Nick, as a human child, Calada's cooking ability became better.

After a meal together, Neil and Aerin are welcome to rest in the rooms provided. Meanwhile, Nick lives with his mother to help clear the dining room.

“You're home quickly, Nick. Do two humans bore you?” ask Calada in the middle of their activities. Calada can clean the room with magic. But since being with Nick, the dragon changed his habits to teach his son to live as a human who does not have magic abilities.

“Either can I say that I enjoyed it. There are many things in the human world that I do not understand. Most of them only contain suffering,”, Nick recalled his short journey filled with images of human misery and cruelty.

Calada smiled warmly. He also approached his son who was arranging the fabric of the city-box covering the dining table. Gently, Calada rubbed Nick's cheek that looked moping.

“That is uniquely human. They have many interesting sides. Through suffering, they know happiness. Because of their misery, they too can have hope. And there is cruelty, making them seek good. I need you to learn those things, Nick. The lives of humans are quite short when compared to other nations. But it is precisely because of that you have a variety of experiences that are so dynamic,” said Calada began to speak his wisdom.

Nick's down. “I try to do my best to help them. But it doesn't feel like it's enough. Injustice happens everywhere. Instead of monsters, the humans actually fought and oppressed each other. I don't understand, Mother. Why do they do bad things to their own people. They even kidnapped other creatures to torture. Aerin, elf the – .”

“Mother knows the story,” cut Calada. “I won't force you to stay in the human world if you don't want to. Now, after you've experienced life out there yourself, you can choose, stay here with me, or learn to live with the humans.” The dragon let Nick think.

The young man was silent for a moment. He knew that Calada would say so. In the end, it is Nick who has to decide how he will live his life. Living with Calada in this place is indeed quite calm and fun. However, things will only become boring gradually.

Nick tries to reflect on Calada's advice about the lives of humans. Seeing how the people out there are so miserable, Nick's heart is moved. He did not want to see more suffering. He knows he has the ability to help people out there. If he chose to give up now, perhaps those people would really lose hope altogether.

Should he help them? But that means he also has to fight other humans. And in an organized system called a kingdom, Nick alone might not be able to fight it, no matter how great his strength. The fight against humans, was clearly different from the fight against monsters.

In the end, Nick also tried to ask the thing that stuck in his heart. “Neil said that I was a descendant of the previous king. And my mother, who was dead, was the queen who was banished to the far plains. I ... have a responsibility to restore the human kingdom and reclaim the stolen throne. That's what he said,” Nick said, releasing the burden on his heart.

Calada was silent for a moment. He did not immediately answer and just observed Nick with an expression that was difficult to understand.

“Mother? Is that true? All this time mom never told me about my origin ...” Nick's sentence was cut because Calada suddenly turned away leaving Nick alone in the confusion.
