The Untold Story of Tiberias

The Untold Story of Tiberias
Plan

The next day, Nick had no intention of doing any fighting. He was already quite confident in his abilities, especially after fighting the fox demon in the forest. Instead, that day he decided to begin devising a plan to liberate Tiberias from Thaddeus' cruel rule.

Nick sits down with Calada, Aerin and Neil at the dragon residence hall. They discussed various ways of conquering the entire army of Thaddeus and reclaiming the throne of the kingdom of Tiberias.

“I don't have enough troops to start a war. Should we start recruiting knights?” ask Nick to Neil.

“It wasn't hard. I worked for several shrouded guilds scattered all over Tiberias. If you need it, I can call them right away. Those guilds would happily crush the despotic king. But, still, I do not feel that their numbers are enough to overcome the royal army. Even if they were strong enough, it was certain that a war broke out before this. No, Nick, I'm not suggesting that you just rely on the strength of the knights from the guild. They can be a valuable help, but that alone is not enough,” explained Neil at length.

Neil's words are true. If the human knights were indeed strong enough to overthrow Thaddeus' army, they would have been rebellious long ago.

“I don't think it's just about power, but those humans haven't found a figure they can trust to replace the current king. Their rebellion would mean nothing if there were no one to lead and unite them. Therefore, Nick's existence can change the political situation among knights and guild members.” Calada interjected by displaying his wisdom.

Neil seemed to be enlightened. His eyes widened as if he had gained a valuable new understanding. “You are right, Mrs Calada. If we have the Crown Prince as a war general, then the situation can turn around. The rebellion became more centralized because we had a figure we could count on,”.

“Although that is so, you guys still should not be rash. Thaddeus also mastered black magic, which could use it to create monsters and even plague. If you want to do it right, you must practice in a short time,” Calada's advice again.

“Mother's right. In addition to gathering people who are willing to fight with me, we also have to build troops secretly so as not to be snorted by the kingdom,” added Nick calm.

“That's no problem. We can use as much time as we need. Those guilds had hidden places that the kingdom could not reach. They even train principals to spy on nobles regularly,” timbal Neil remained optimistic.

Nick again thought of the innocent people who had long suffered throughout Thaddeus' reign. The destroyed villages were filled with the smell of death. The slaves were treated inferior to insects. Even the magic creatures that had to live were hiding under the shadow of fear. Should they wait any longer to be saved? Why is it only now that Nick is made aware of the condition of the world that has been destroyed like this?

Those bad thoughts slowly broke Nick's composure. The young man clenched his hand holding back the anger. His chest was filled with anger. There was a sense of regret that was seeping in the recesses of his soul. Why hasn't he acted in the past? Why is it now that it's too late?

“Nick.” Calada's voice called out to him gently. The dragon grabbed Nick's clenched hand slowly, as if reminding his son to remain calm and in control.

“All the things that have happened, it's outside of you. Everything was predestined, including the fall of Tiberias and the suffering of the people. It's not your fault, or anyone's fault. Everything has been set to make your people more understanding about struggle and love. Believe in your own destiny,” Calada said as he stared fixedly at his son.

Instantly the anger in Nick's chest melts. Calmness filled his heart. There is no point in regret. It's all been happening. Now it's time to get up and do what he can.

“Thank you, Mom. Sorry for the moment I almost lost my temper,” Nick said later.

Calada nodded, then removed his grasp from Nick's hand. “You should be able to control yourself, Nick. With the great power you already have, you can lose yourself and be ruled by darkness. It is easy to slip up in crime. Be careful of the responsibilities you take. Or you too will turn into the same tyrant as your present king,” the dragon message solemnly.

For some time, silence surrounded them. Calada's words are not empty words. Humans are creatures that stand on the brink of good and bad, like walking on a very fragile rope. Just a little Nick made a mistake, he could probably drown in the dark forever.

“I'll be careful, Mom,” Nick said after a few seconds of silence.

“Life elf,” says Aerin suddenly. “Mrs Dragon, I mean, Calada, I think the elves are definitely willing to help if the humans really intend to revolt. As is well known, we lived in hiding and had to endure many hardships after the previous king died. So, if we can meet the elf tribe, they are definitely willing to lend a hand. Especially if Nick is the son of King Tiberias before. Our king's relationship with King Tiberias has been excellent for generations. The existence of Nick will bring hope also for our tribe,” he continued ventured to talk.

“That's the most helpful advice you've ever said, Aerin. All this time we had trouble contacting you, especially the elves who hated humans since Thaddeus ruled. But if it's you and Nick, working with the elves is possible. Apparently you can also give useful advice huh, Aerin. Not only angry,” said Neil chuckled.

Aerin pouted while looking at Neil sharply. “I've been thinking about this for a long time. But only now can I reveal,” the protest.

Nick and Calada smiled slightly. “Can you guide us towards your kingdom, Aerin?” ask Nick later.

Aerin nodded steadily. “Of course. Coincidentally I have a close relationship with a royal member of the elf tribe.”

“You? Don't tell me you're the daughter of an elf king or something?” neil pretended to be surprised.

Aerin only hissed annoyed at Neil's joke. “You should have treated me well from the beginning,” he said with a sharp glance.

The conversation slowly found a bright spot. At least now Nick knows everything he has to do. The help of the elves would be very useful, as well as could increase their chances of victory. Even if he could meet the elf king, the rebellion movement could be carried out immediately without needing to take a long time.

Nick's spirit began to flare up again. Now they begin to plan a trip to the hidden elven tribe kingdom, while contacting the outcast knights of the shrouded guild.

Unfortunately, in the middle of that interesting conversation, Nick suddenly felt the arrival of a huge energy that moved quickly towards where they were. The young man also changed his mind. He sharpened his entire senses to capture that huge, hostile energy. And not only Nick, Calada the dragon also felt a surge of violent killing intent on beating.

“What's with you guys?” ask Neil who doesn't have instinctual sensibilities as sharp as Nick. He and Aerin looked confusedly at Nick and his mother who was now sitting upright looking alert.

“Nothing,” replied Calada turned calm. “New friend Nick seems to be coming to visit. Let my son alone welcome him,” continued the dragon as if he already knew who was about to appear carrying a strong killing intent.

“Ah, apparently she is,” Nick said in response. The young man snorted softly and reduced his tension. He stood up while calmly grabbing his sword.

“Hah? Whatdoes thatmean? Who's coming? You got friends here?” neil couldn't feel anything yet.

However, the next second, when the figure outside the house was close enough, finally Neil and Aerin could feel the threat.

“Nick .. don't tell me yesterday you fought a creature this strong ..?” asked Aerin.

Nick just smiled. “He's not that strong. Don't worry,” said Nick lightly then stepped away.
