The Smile of God for Marissa

The Smile of God for Marissa
Getting to the Capital 2

Coming home from college, I packed the clothes I was going to bring to Jakarta. I picked up the little suitcase my mother bought half a year ago. The suitcase that witnesses my activities outside the city where I teach, which I have almost two months to ignore. I picked up the suitcase on top of my closet. Although it has been unused for a long time, the condition of the suitcase is not dirty because I always wrap it with large plastic, to avoid dirt sticking to the body and animals that will damage it.

I stacked my underwear and folded them together and tied them with rubber bands, and put them in the corner of my suitcase. The clothes that I had ironed immediately folded into small folds and quicks one by one and then I put them in the suitcase. This very simple packing I adopted from several video tutorials five minute craft on you tube. I always do the same thing when I pack my clothes. Short, simple and not too space-consuming. Clothes that amount to eight to ten stelpun can fit into a small suitcase without forcing the zipper. The toothbrush I used to take out I put together soap and shampoo, and a comb in a small bag. After all the preparations are done, I put four hangers, maybe I will need them there later. I closed my suitcase and put it in the corner of my room. The day has entered ashar.

I heard there's an open door in my boarding house. And before long, someone knocked on my bedroom door.

“Log !”

“You have everything ready, Ris ?” Maulida looked at me carefully. He saw the suitcase sitting in the corner of the room and my college bag was neatly arranged on the table.

“Alhamdulillah already” I replied briefly.

“You sure you will only leave alone with Pak Jun?”

“It looks like so.” I never even thought who else I'd go with tomorrow. According to what I know, Mr. Jun only gave instructions for me to come half an hour earlier than my scheduled departure to the airport. Besides there's no information.

“ Maulana tomorrow will also go to Jakarta.” Maulida.

“ oh yes ? “ I was surprised because indeed I really did not try to find out.

“But if not mistaken, he will be ushered by Bu Merlin.”

“ For what events ?”

“Entahlah. All I know is that MAulana is good at robots, you know that in her department she always grabs cumlaude.”

I can only shake. Not without reason, even though I knew Maulana, but I never knew how she was in her class. I know him only as a friend in BEM, the rest don't know. What her daily activities are, what her achievements and favorites are even I don't know who her lover is. All this time I've been friends with them, just being friends, discussing organizational issues and the rest I don't want to know at all.

“You sure suck. Same friends alone do not know let alone the same others.” I looked at Maulida's emotional face. Although I was anxious to look at her and wanted to pinch her cheeks, I remained silent.

“Try you care a little more about each other. More willing to pay attention to someone I mean. “ said Maulida calmly.

“Maxsute? “ I started getting hooked.

“Once in a while it seems you need to see who Maulana is, who she's being appraised of, what her prowess is and what her favorites are. If you can not only Maulana but others.”

“Once ya ?” I don't know why I didn't feel the need to respond to Maulida's words. “However we live socially. The human being is a social being who should care about one another.” Maulida.

“If a person's concern is only seen from how he knows who his lover is, what his favorite food is and what his hobby is, sorry, Da, I can't.”

“ But I think your indifference has crossed the line, Ris. “

“Turns the limit how ?” I don't understand Maulida's mindset. I also don't understand why he looks at me not caring about each other just based on the fact that I don't know someone's favorite. Though in my opinion, I am the most caring human being because all this time I have always extended help to anyone in need.

Ashar passed fifteen minutes ago. I left Maulida alone in my room. He was looking at his phone and I don't know what he was reading.

I took my towel and I busied myself with my clean activities. I pulled my head and rubbed it with head and shoulder menthol and I felt how warm my head was. Dizziness that has been lingering since noon on the head slightly subsided after my hair was washed with shampoo. When I finished, I brushed my teeth and I changed my wet clothes with the dry clothes I had prepared from the room. Ten minutes later, I came out of the bathroom and walked to the ablution and faced my Lord in prayer.

After my worship, Maulida invited me to eat. I followed all his wishes. We're heading to Maulida's room. Maulida told me to sit in her bins and take out a plastic pack that turned out to be two-packed rice.

“Sisy when to cost again Da?” many spontaneous.

“I told you that he's out of boarding and back at the dormitory where his parents live right ? “ said Maulida a little emotion. I miss him so much that I still think Sisy is still at the boarding house.

“I miss her very much. “

“Kau can go to his home in the battalion if you want to be scratched laler ijo. “.

“Coated kok laler ijo. Do you think Sisy's house is so dirty that there are so many lalers?”

Maulida laughs.

“Risa . . Risa's. You don't even know the term youth trend huh.” Ucp insulted me, he insulted me,

“Trend ? young man ?” manya curious.

“Iya.” Answer Maulida briefly.

“What does it mean?’

“Entahlah. Talking to you long ago irritates me. “ Maulida's murmurs. He immediately stood up and left me alone in his room. I wanted to chase him but I pared. I don't want to leave my food. I saw Maulida come in with a bottle of water and two glasses. Today he really spoiled me. He served my meal this afternoon.

“We always say Soldiers with the word Laler ijo, let those we call so do not know that we are gossiping.

I almost choked. New term for the present child. And again I don't know. I finally realized how inadequate I was to the environment around me.

“You are evil once, Da.”

“Hi hi hi hi, you don't even know that lately we have always been teased ?”

This time I really choked. Ida held out a glass of her drink to me. I took and drank a mouthful to help food that had already entered my respiratory tract. It doesn't affect much, but at least I can help a little.

“They often take a walk in front of the cost. In the morning they run through the front road of this house, and in the afternoon they ride a bike across the campus. “

“ Since when did it happen ?”

“ Already this week. Sisy said they were preparing to carry out their duties in Papua. There was an attack from a certain group. “

“Contin ?”

“They disturb Fatimah” Fatimah is a friend who costs in the back house. His grandmother's house was Kinkan. The place is inhabited by children of languages from various generations. Bigger and more crowded, so after I left Maulida for the refugee camp, she preferred to be there.

“You were also teased ?Godaku.I saw Maulida's face blushing. Maybe he confirmed my words in his heart. “Jawab !” connect me while pretending to glare at my eyes.

“ Yes . . . so it is.” Legally. Maulida lowered her head and continued to look at the neatly arranged tiles in her room.

“Or do you not-don't you already made one of those flies ?” MAulida.

“Not what yet ?” hearing my temptation once again the face of ayu in front of me reddened. I could not bear to see it, but I was really curious to hear a lot of ijo flies every day teasing my friends.

“What the hell are you? I was often tempted by the Ijo fly but when you forget that I was targeting someone on campus.”sahut Maulida growled.

“Oh . . . it turns out that way ?” Maulida pinched my waist.

“Ihh sucks.” She's pouting. His hand that had pinched me once again landed the pinch even this time in a row. I who felt amused by his behavior immediately gave up.

“Once again you pretend not to know I pinched you,” threatened him.

But I really don't know Da. Really,” I said while pointing the index and middle fingers.

“ You are what year.” He left me while carrying the rice wrapper out of the room. I followed her steps and sat in the living room and turned on the television. Warm news is still around the search for victims in sub-district B.

At six o'clock in the morning Maulida drove me to college. The campus on Jalan AD is still very quiet. No student has come to study. There is only a Toyota Rush parked on the corner of the driveway. Maulida dropped me off in the auditorium corridor downstairs. The place that Mr. Junaidi said will be used as a place to let go of me and Mr. Jun.

Nothing was seen there yet. I sat my ass in the chair next to the stairs. Maulida helped me lift my small suitcase and sat next to me waiting for Junaidi and the Rector.

Half seven all awaited present. Maulana and Bu Merlin from the Engineering faculty are with me. We sat in the auditorium. The event was only attended by the dean of the faculty of Engineering and Psychology and some of the rectorate staff. And the companion and participant is me and Maulana.

“As the Chairman of Matahari campus I am proud and joyful for the success of my children in the national event. Hopefully with this event all can take lessons, bring the name of both the alma mater and the region. Hopefully in this event my children can achieve the best. And by pronouncing bismillahirohmanirrohiim, the rector of Universitas Matahari released the contingent in the Competition of Scientific Works in Jakarta. “

After our contingent release event to the campus car that will take us to the international airport in Jogjakarta. Mr. Junaidi and Mr. Merlin got into Rush's car with the Rector and the Dean of both faculties. Maulana and I got into the school car.

“You look a little exhausted Risa. “ Maulana opens conversation.

“You know for yourself I just came home from District B. I was even going to deliver the bodies of his parents and brother Syamsa when Mr. Junaidi called me. “ my description made Maulana surprised. He might be too busy with his faculty activities that he ignored the warm information that had just happened not far from his surroundings.

“How are their conditions ?” ask Maulana curiously.

“They mean who ? Refugees, or Syamsa parents?”

“ Syamsa's parents and his brother.” Maulana Sahut. He looked at my face and how stupid I was because I didn't know what he meant.

“Tim SAR said, they died hugging each other so that the body bags became one. When bathed and wrapped in shrouds they are also inseparable so that they remain in one shroud and it is certain that they are buried in the same burrow. “

Maulana's face looked very sad. I don't know what he's been thinking about Shamsa all this time. Maulida was right, I was indeed completely insensitive to my fellow man.

“How is Syamsa condition after they are found ?”

I just took a breath. It seems Maulana knows Syamsa so well that she is really curious to know all about Syamsa.

“At a time when Syamsa was roaring to cry for his family, his aunt told him to get married immediately in front of his parents and brother.” I'm lirih. Although shrinking, it could make Maulana panic.

“Tell me all about it !”

“Eh, don't tell me you like Syamsa. “ I said while looking at Maulana full of probing. Maulana nodded her head.

“What does your nod mean?”

“I love her, Ris.” Speech weak. There was worry on his face.

“Are you sure of how you feel?” once again Maulana nodded. I doubt whether to tell all or close the story about Syamsa until he returns from Jakarta.

“Come ! Tell me everything ! Please !”

“Will it not affect your mind ? You will enter the race and this race is very prestigious. I'm afraid you'll be affected and . . .

“ Janngan talk a lot ! Let's tell me !” whining. I was silent for a moment.

“Come ! Won't affect my concentration later, rest assured !”Maulana almost held my hand if I hadn't pulled her right away.

“Iya, I'm sorry. I know you don't like me holding your hand. But please, tell me all about Syamsa.”

“Forget him !”

“ Hey, what do you mean ?” MAulana started to get emotional. I'm pretty sure that's what he'll do after hearing my testimony.

“She is married.” I'm lirih. I'm so sad to remember what I just saw yesterday. I threw my eyes out.

“Si . Who became her husband ?” I saw Maulana's face panicked. I was very excited to see Maulana's change of attitude. “Say, Risa.” With a sad face.

“Qomar.” Sahutku short. This time MAulana clenched her hands and punched the chair she was sitting on hard.

“You didn't prevent it?” Maulana said while holding my hand. He doesn't care about the principles I've always held.

“What can I do if the person agrees ? Are you going to prevent it too if your loved ones agree with someone else's wishes?’ I say with full emotion. I don't like the words that blame me. Mauana. For a moment it was still emotional. Sometimes he took a deep breath and threw it away violently. I don't want to interfere with his feelings.

We didn't feel like we were at the airport. Mr. Junaidi and Ms. Merlin were waiting for us in front of the airport entrance. After we showed the boarding pass and identity, the officer let us in for checking at the next doors.
