My teacher

Today, Wednesday, November 25. Do you know what day it is today? Yes, today is Teacher's Day. Usually on this day there will be a ceremony to commemorate it. All the students and teachers gathered in the field, preparing to attend the ceremony well. After the ceremony, the students would give gifts, such as flowers or chocolate, to the teachers. Then, take pictures together according to each class with faces filled with a big smile and both hands carrying flowers or chocolate.

But now, of course it's not like that. Circumstances change everything, distancing our distance. Learning is still through the screen of a mobile phone, let alone just gathering at school, almost never. No more ceremonies with many participants standing ready on the field. Now it's probably just the teachers and the OSIS on duty to follow suit. Everything is limited. Flowers and chocolates may also not be sent and received directly. Fortunately, congratulations and thanks and apologies can still be conveyed to meet the contents of the class group. Developing a smile even though tired fingers have to scroll endlessly until the conversation runs out.

But the atmosphere is still different. Writing is different from sound. Despite having stepped on approximately 8 months of learning from home, moments like this still feel different. The usually crowded atmosphere became quiet. Shouts of spirit in various competitions can only be said through words without intonation to cause a different impression. This year was not as good as before. Schools that are usually filled with school children are no longer valid today. The bell that used to ring never heard it again. The songs that always appear before the first lesson starts also do not kick anymore. But, how else? It has to be accepted, right? It should be with a heavy heart. However, never despair of facing! Will January be back soon? Then, we can meet again in an atmosphere that did not happen for a long time.

And, for this special day. I present a poem that is completely different from previous poems. For other teachers or teachers who read this poem, hopefully you like it and keep the spirit of spreading knowledge.

A sky without stars without full

I see the dark everywhere

Without a ray of light

I was disappointed

Trying not to shed tears

Intertwine the language word series

So I can tell her

About the memory that was left there

At that time

I got that chance

Look at the faces of those humans

Every day except Sunday

However, at this time

When the world is protecting itself

Of a pandemic that has not stopped

When all is from home

No longer from school

Which adds to the difficulty

Increases fatigue

But you didn't give up

You stand tall, not admitting defeat

Keep trying hard, always hard

You are tireless hero

The nickname of Unmarked Hero of Service

It always suits you

Noble work for my people

Never tired of facing my people

You are like the rhythm of a song

That will always be my favorite

Never been timeless

I will always keep you healthy

This is my thanks to you all. People, whether women or men who taught me in school, I thank you for being able to guide me as best I can. Forgive my deliberate or unintentional mistakes. May you stand tall, not with your head down.
