The Secret With Bad Boy

The Secret With Bad Boy
Permacuum

The condition of the body began to improve, making Lukman decided to start working again today. The atmosphere of work looks a little different. Some people stared cynically at Lukman. Some noticed Lukman's physical condition that looked weak and pale, there was also a peek at the work that Lukman was working on. Their attention was too much for Lukman and Lukman could feel it as if he did not believe Lukman was at work.

“How he tuh HRD manager moved. Work is as good as the head. Leave more than a week, yes have resigned all,” said one of the employees cynically. Lukman can still hear that, as well as Seno.

“Not to be heard, Kang. Cuekin. The important thing is that I have received permission from the big boss,” whispered Seno while patting Lukman on the shoulder to encourage.

“Iya, Sen. Thanks.” Lukman can only thank the people who have always supported him. If only there was no Seno nearby, I don't know who would have helped him all along. Seno was willing to go back and forth from the hospital and occasionally he did office work from the hospital. What a great sacrifice for a friend.

Even though only once Lukman had helped Seno, that is when Seno was experiencing financial problems when his wife was going to give birth and needed large financial assistance. Lukman provided considerable assistance until all treatment processes went well and the seno child was born safely.

However, the relationship between friends is not only about the service business but more on the feelings felt when receiving the help.

“Well, Bang Lukman has come in again apparently? I don't think you work here anymore. Not forgetting the way to the office, right, Brother?” said one of Lukman's coworkers who smiled wryly at Lukman.

“Yes, I've started working again. The journey to the office was smooth without obstacles.” That's Lukman's only word.

“Lucky once Brother, when Brother is not there, our work is very much until almost every night we overtime. But when Brother came in, the work was all done. Smart to choose the time of the break. Brother is happy, we almost died of exhaustion.” Although delivered while laughing and intent to joke, but the feelings of Lukman still can not take for granted the words of young men in front of him.

There was a sense of sadness that he felt when he heard that sentence. If this man knew that Lukman was not going for a walk or vacation with his family, but was helpless in his hospital bed and left his dear daughter. Hah, Lukman's heart is breaking hearing this man's words.

“Sorry, because I didn't accompany you guys overtime.” That's all Lukman can say.

“Sorry to say, stale already. Hahahahha The man chimed in with laughter as he passed towards his desk. Some people laugh. Either laugh at Lukman or the ravings of the fierce man who had greeted him to speak stale. Lukman tries not to care about that. Right now, he just wants to focus on his health, family and work. That'sthat's all.

“Pak Lukman, called big boss into his room.” A young man approached Lukman who was preparing to continue his work.

“Big boss? What's up?” Lukman swallowed his saliva violently. He was quite surprised by what he heard.

“Ya less know. Try to go there first. Maybe you want to give a gift for a favorite employee,” said the man while smiling wryly.

“Iya, thank you yes.” Lukman according to him.

“Most SP3, disrespected,” comments someone Lukman can still hear.

Lukman just smiled, right, he has to prepare for the worst of it.

“The quiet, Kang. Sure if there will be nothing.” Only Seno was still encouraging.

Lukman nodded slowly, trying to calm down and not think. He said what happened could be because of our own thoughts. So Lukman chose not to think bad things. Accept what will happen later.

Lukman's not-so-fast move, led him to the room of the company's chief director. He knocked on the door and Bertha's assistant invited him in.

“Pak Lukman, please come in, Sir.” Bertha greeted Lukman warmly.

Lukman was polite. During his time in this office, only now he had the opportunity to enter the director's room which always imposed restrictions on anyone who could enter.

“Sit.” Bertha invited Lukman to sit down. He approached Lukman and sat on the sofa. His smile seemed friendly and sympathetic.

“My news is good, Mom. Thank you.” Lukman tried to be calm in front of the company's chief director.

“Thank God. How's the cut?”

I don't know what this question means that Lukman's heart suddenly thumped so fast. There seemed to be something unusual that Bertha meant.

“My time off, I use it well. Thank you Mother for allowing me to leave, so I can return to work in even better condition.” Lukman replied diplomatically.

Bertha understood. He looked at Lukman quite closely, then smiled.

“Two days back, I got a report that your daughter came to the office to ask about the whereabouts of the Father. Didn't he know you were on leave?” bertha's question was really surprising.

Lukman immediately fell silent, confused to answer what it was like.

“I respect the personal and Father's choice, but I'm sorry I have to ask this. The Father's daughter thought that the Father was on an official trip out of town. I feel, it is not too fit to be an excuse.” Bertha stared fixedly at Lukman and made the middle-aged man even harder to speak. He realized, he should not make work problems as an excuse for him to lie to Kinanti. Because it could have made a bad image of the company in the eyes of his family.

“I apologize for my mistake, Mom. Indeed it should not be me to say work as the reason my family home. I have lied to both the company and my daughter. But really, I was so desperate back then.” Lukman spoke without daring to look at Bertha's face. He realized his mistake.

“I'm sorry but I want to know more clearly the real reason of Mr.” Bertha's question made Lukman not wince. This middle-aged man was bowed lethargic with many thoughts in his head. I don't know what to say at the moment. Is it honest?

“I underwent a treatment procedure at one of the hospitals, Mom. I was forced to lie to my company and my daughter because I couldn't tell the truth. Please forgive me.” Lukman's voice sounded slow and full of fear. It seems he can't lie anymore. He could not carry the burden of guilt for longer.

Bertha could not speak. It turns out that it was true that his assistant reported that Lukman was seriously ill. Bertha had deliberately asked her assistant to find out Lukman's condition because of the arrival of Kinanti yesterday who wanted to meet with the superior of her father. The girl came with her son. A child who never cared about anyone else. But this time Kala was willing to take Kinanti anywhere.

“If you are sick, you can actually apply for sick leave. We can understand that.” Bertha tried to be wise.

He saw Lukman nod. “But, can the office still accept me if it knows that my illness is quite severe?” Lukman looked at Bertha with a pus. Her eyes started to glaze over and it seemed like a while more would be dripping her tears.

“Don't if the company knew the reason for my leave, it's likely that the company will lay off a sickly employee like me? While I still need this job. I still have to meet the needs of my son who is still in school. I...” Lukman's words stopped. He could not continue his words. He just bowed lethargicly, thinking about the conditions that made him feel squeezed.

“Pak Lukman, some companies may choose to lay off their workers when he is already unproductive working in that company. But, the basis of our thinking, not only because it is not productive but because the company is worried, if because of the busyness in the company, if, employees do not focus on paying attention to health which is the main capital for him to do many things,” explained Bertha in fact.

“Bapak has served in this company for a long time. We also care about your health. Moreover, you still have children who need the protection of the Father. But, if you hide the true condition of the Father, how do we know if you need our help?” Bertha spoke attentively, making Lukman then shed tears when he realized that what his boss said was indeed true.

“Pak Lukman, I will try to help if you open up to me. As a company owner who is grateful for your dedication so far, as well as parents who both have children who need our protection.” Bertha confirmed her sentence to Lukman.

The frail man raised his face which was only bowed. His eyes still looked red and wet. It seemed, he indeed had no other choice but then he had to explain his current health condition.

In the end, Lukman recounted all his health conditions. About the doctor's diagnosis and treatment procedures that he must undergo. Lukman told Bertha not to tell anyone, including her family.

Bertha responded when she saw Lukman's hopeful face. He understands very well the fear of parents who will make their children anxious. One decision that Bertha then took was, Lukman moved to other parts and he was allowed to do his work from home. Only twice a week he is obliged to come to the office to provide reporting on his work.

Lukman wept for Bertha's kindness towards him. He could not speak to express his feelings.
