Studying at the cafe was fun. There is no feeling of boredom and boredom that crosses Kala's mind. The sound of music played as if being a one-time friend who accompanied them discussed one by one sub-chapters that Kala did not understand.

Math lessons that every mumet learned by Kala, today does not feel confusing. Probably because of the calm and comfortable atmosphere.

Sometimes Kinan and Kala have casual discussions discussing each sub-chapter in a chapter of material that has been ignored in the past year. Time doesn't seem to go so fast. An hour was not enough for them to learn effectively.

The ability of Kinanti in explaining is also worth a thumbs up. He was so patient in helping Kala understand the lesson he could repeat two to three times until Kala understood completely. He also gave Kala a scoring target, where they would only change chapters if Kala managed to achieve the score set by Kinanti.

“Why is a stingy really giving value? This material is difficult, it should weigh twenty-five percent, not ten percent.” Kala's protest during Kinanti gave him a small grade.

“This problem can be solved in a faster way. But you're too convoluted Kal. If you go to the Olympics, you'll run out of time.” Kinanti insisted on her assumption.

“I don't want to go to the Olympics. I just need to get good grades and be able to beat other students especially Demian.” Be firm as it is.

“Why should Demian?” ask Kinanti suddenly.

“You mean?” Back to asking.

“Yes I mean why do you want to beat Demian? Do you feel like a rival to him?” Kinanti clarified her question.

“Absolutely. He's the best student in our class. Of course he should be my benchmark and I should be able to surpass him.” Kala looks upset and excited at the same time.

“Then, if Demian's achievements are defeated by someone other than you, will he still be your benchmark? Or if Demian is satisfied and does not want to try again, will you also stop trying?” Kinanti asked a more confusing question.

Kala was silent for a while, trying to digest Kinanti's words.

“Yes, maybe I can be a little lethargic if he is satisfied and does not try anything else.” Kala smiled cynically, imagining Demian was under her feet.

“So your destination just got there? Defeated Demian?”

“Ya.” Kala was so firm. Of course his goal was just that, defeating Demian who was a hobby of looking face to face in front of his father.

“What if it turns out that a Demian has another purpose? Or worse, he has no desire other than to make you feel rivaled? Are you also going to stop and give up?” kinanti's gaze this time locked onto Kala's pair of eagle eyes.

When he confirmed his sitting position, confused to answer Kinanti's question. Really, he had never thought of anything else, other than thinking of a way for Demian to be beneath him.

“Do you think my thinking is wrong?” When he turned to ask Kinanti, he began to doubt. Kinanti's face that was too earnest but shady at the same time even made her nervous.

“Then?” Kala was more curious, because he believed there was something to be explained by Kinanti.

“This is my opinion personal.” Kinanti also straightened her body, speaking seriously, could not with a leha-leha attitude.

“Please,” new this time Kala want to hear enter someone else.

“Someone who has a target for wanting to outperform others, that's not a mistake. But, when someone you want to upload it turns out to have no purpose, what will you get?”

When stunned, he shook his head while staring fixedly at Kinanti's calm face.

“Having a sense of competing is natural because in that achievement there is always competition. But, your life is not just about Kal competition, let alone risking your life just for competition. I'm sure, there are other things you can do better without having to make Demian as your benchmark for success.”

“In my opinion, it would be better if you set your own standards of success. Not just by going beyond Demian's achievements but by doing something you love and can make you grow.”

“I'm sure, it will make you more motivated and happier living it without feeling burdened while doing it.” Describe the Kinanti straightforwardly.

Kala does not stop. He chose to turn his face that looks riled up and look far out there. He saw a boy who laughed cheerfully as he held on to his father. While his mother brought him food, it seemed that the boy was being persuaded to eat.

I don't know why Kala's heart rippled. His past was so good, before. But the arrival of Demian and his mother has ruined all his happiness. If not to make Demian fall, what should the current benchmark be? What can he bring up in himself to be the best version of himself, as Kinanti mentioned?

“Can I do it?” Kala asked without looking at Kinanti, making Kinanti look out there. Curious about what Kala saw.

“You've even started it, why doubt it won't work?” the answer to Kinanti is quite simple.

Kala turned his head back to Kinanti, looked at her for a while before then gulping down Kinanti's mineral water.

“Eh, it's mine.” Kinanti Protest.

But Kala doesn't care. He continued to gulp down the mineral water to the toilet without lowering his gaze from Kinanti. He was well aware that Kinanti had slowly changed the point of view in his life. Not a little, but a lot.

There was a new motivation that suddenly appeared within him. Can he make that happen?
