The River House
III. Family Dinner

Half-hour seven nights. The dining table is full of delicious dishes. There are several types of vegetables, and a little processed meat. Mak Surti has been very familiar if his master at night is not too fond of eating meat.

Looks Graceful and her husband is already at the dining table. They were still waiting for Bu Rofida and Vivi who had not yet descended from her room upstairs.

"Where is Ibuk with Vivi?" Ferry uring. Her stomach was hungry.

"Let me look over Mas" said Anggun quickly. She did not want her husband's mood to deteriorate. Ferry is a temperament type of man. If you are angry all the objects in front of him can be crushed to pieces. Either it was slammed or kicked. Nevertheless, Ferry was never rude to his wife.

Without waiting for an answer from Ferry, Anggun rushed up the stairs to the top floor. At the end of the stairs there is a wall with a large painting of himself and Ferry wearing traditional Javanese clothes. Graceful for a moment to look at her self-portrait. The smile that spread on his lips when the photo was taken looked so enchanting.

"Huh, fake," Gracefully smiled at a glance.

To the left and right of the wall in front of Anggun, there is a hallway. The hallway to the left leads to Anggun's room, while the right leads to Bu Rofida and Vivi's room. Gracefully set her foot back towards the room of the in-laws.

Gracefully standing in front of her in-laws room door. Doors made of teak wood with a shiny dark brown plitur color. Graceful to knock on that slightly open door. However, he abandoned his intentions. Unintentionally Anggun overheard the conversation between her in-laws and sister-in-law.

"Duh, the pretentious woman became rich suddenly buk," said Vivi with her spoiled voice meme menge.

"Yes anyway. But she is not perfect as a woman. Your brother deserves a better woman than that sick man" Ms. Rofida replied.

Gracefully silent at the door. His hands were tightly clenched. His chest felt tight, unbearable pain. The two people who were talking about it were also women. They should be able to understand the current graceful feeling, but the opposite is true.

Gracefully retreat slowly. He held on to the wall, strengthening his heart as well as his legs that felt helpless. He stopped at the corner of the room. There is a window with wide glass facing the yard.

Gracefully take a breath and exhale it slowly. He shifted his mind, staring at the courtyard with a dim light. Seen in the courtyard of the house, Mr. Nyoto walked while carrying a large jerrycan. Maybe gasoline supplies for genset fuel.

In another part, among the shrubs and some chrysanthemums seen Erwin standing sculpting. Strange youth, that was the impression Anggun got every time he saw Erwin.

Erwin who initially looked dreamy, suddenly looked up. Unintentionally, Anggun met the view of her husband's nephew. Erwin seemed to be smiling. Again a strange and unusual smile. Gracefully gasped, immediately turning the body about to return to the dining table.

"Lho Nduk, what's there?" Suddenly, Bu Rofida was behind Anggun.

"Ahh," Anggun shockedly held onto his chest.

"Well, what a shock? Kayak maling kankangkep you mbak," said Vivi.

Gracefully regulate his breath. He quickly changed his facial expression. Trying to make the face flat as usual.

"Sorry Buk, Vi. . .I was asked to help Mas Ferry to invite you to dinner" Anggun said calmly.

"Have you been there long?" Vivi asked as she pointed at Anggun. Gracefully shut up, only shaking convincingly.

"Let's have dinner," Anggun walked ahead of Bu Rofida and Vivi downstairs.

Arriving at the dining room it turns out Erwin was sitting in the chair facing forward with Ferry. Both of them seemed busy with their respective HPs.

"Hey, where's Vivi?" Ferry looked at the stairs leading up to the top floor. The next few seconds saw Vivi, her little sister ran down the stairs.

After everyone has gathered together, dinner begins. The atmosphere became silent, only a few times the sound of spoons and forks clashing on the plate.

"Thankfully there is wifi yes, if you can not be confused I want to play medsos, cellular network does not nyampek," said Vivi while looking at her HP.

"Put down your HP. It's meal time" Ferry ketus continued.

"Mass?" Gracefully stop eating for a moment. He seemed to be saying something.

"What's wrong?" Ask Ferry kalem. The tone of speech was much different compared to when he spoke to Vivi.

"Tomorrow some of my friends will come here," said Anggun hesitated.

"Friends? Your college gang?" Ferry doesn't seem to like it.

"Yes" answered Anggun briefly.

"How many people want to come? Anybody? Let Mak Surti prepare a banquet later," Tanya Ferry further.

"So he said 5 people. They want to see a new house, don't they?" Gracefully asked slowly.

"Mbak Mbak . . Seneng really show off. Just moved directly to ngundang people," said Vivi sneered.

"I don't listen," Anggun replied with calm. Although his heart was boiling, yet he tried to remain calm and maintain his authority.

"Yes, it's actually natural that college friends let alone one gang come to visit, right Mommy?" Erwin smiled in defense of Grace. Graceful just nodded feeling less comfortable with Erwin's gaze.

"Sound. Defying your mentang college and I didn't, so pretentious to know. Do you have any friends Win? I've never seen your college friends come to visit," Vivi slurped with her lips that sucks.

"That's enough. Stop joking around at the dinner table," hardik Ferry.

"Let's talk in Yang's room" Ferry told Anggun, ending the dinner.

Gracefully nodded in agreement. He was actually also less sreg with the idea of one of his friends who wanted to visit the house. Gracefully aware, her husband is overprotective, tends to dislike her company and circle of friendship.

Anggun is a woman who is very concerned about education. After graduating from college strata 1 he married Ferry. A year later he continued his S2 education. And there he was familiar with 5 people who planned to visit the new house belongs to Anggun.

Initially in the Whatsapp group one of Anggun's friends said she wanted to hold a thanksgiving event because her husband rose to office. They plan to eat at one of the restaurants in the city. Anggun said he could not attend because he had just moved house in the interior of the village. And finally, they all decided to go to visit the Anggun place.

Graceful feeling guilty makes the atmosphere of the first dinner in the new house awkward. There is no light conversation or happy smile like a real family. All of those sitting in the dining room were as if strangers were accidentally in the same place. They all just enjoyed the dish and after it was done, then went from the room one by one with flat faces.
