The River House

The River House
34. Second night

Day is up in the afternoon. The sun disappeared on the west side of the hills. The sound of the sound of night insects began to sound loud. Darkness quickly shuts the wild. The only bright light comes from the Rich Man's house. A bright place, but its inhabitants have a heart so dark.

Ellie sat down on the floor, watching Tia who was sleeping. The housewife sometimes looks convulsed, also moaning. Even the pain in his legs had snatched away his sleep.

Ellie looked at Tia with a pushy look. Ellie feels that if she does not leave the Rich Man's house, her life is in danger. But the night has come. He can only wait and pray, may tonight not be the last night for his breath.

Norita arrives and enters Tia's room. Ellie was a little surprised. Norita then sat in the corner of the room, where her HP was charging.

"Ellie?" Call Norita lirih.

"Hmm?" Ellie looked.

"I'm sorry, I didn't defend you in the debate" Norita looked sorry.

"Its Okay Nori," replied Ellie briefly.

"But really, I feel sorry and guilty," Norita looked heartbroken.

"Why do you regret your own choices? You're already convinced of your choice, and choosing it wasn't Nori's fault" Ellie sighed.

"Emm, actually I don't want to justify Denis and Hendra's actions. But I had no choice. You know, I love Denis Ell," Norita suddenly felt like she wanted to be frank with Ellie.

Norita is quietly amazed by Ellie's persona. Strong and strong women. When Norita is frightened to see Yodi's body cut in the closet, Ellie can still be calm and master the situation. He wants to be friends with Ellie, so this time Norita told him frankly.

"Oh okay, it looks very clear really, really" Ellie muttered briefly.

The conversation that Norita hoped for did not go well. Ellie seemed reluctant to talk to him.

"Emm Nori, what do you think Denis is?" Ellie asked full of questions.

"Ah Denis yes. He's just like he used to be. Always shining in my eyes. That look is lhoo, badboy. Make me ah how yes, . .," Norita smiled her own smile to answer him.

Ellie grunts annoyed. Norita then came to her senses, not that kind of answer her interlocutor wanted.

"Sorry Ell, I didn't understand your question, '" Norita blushed.

"I suspect every male in this house Nori, without exception. So, I asked you, what's Denis like? Maybe he's actually the criminal who killed Yodi and Dipta?" Ellie looked serious about the question.

"No Ellie, I'm sure Denis isn't the villain" Norita said.

"Why can you be so sure of that? He was the one who first found Dipta dead in his room. Among all the people, to me Denis in the early order, a suspect."

"I don't know. I'm just sure Denis isn't a criminal" Norita said.

"So, who do you think is the villain?" Ellie stared intently at Norita.

"Maybe it's true that Bayu is the villain, or Hendra, it's also possible that Mella is currently hiding somewhere," Norita looks doubtful.

"Everyone is very likely to be Nori's villain. And I don't want to see anybody fucked anymore. So, I hope you better keep your distance from Denis. Aren't you worried that when he arrives he stabs you in the back" Ellie warned.

"There's a lot of opportunities for Denis to hurt me, Ellie. And he never did. So I guess I'm safe with him. Besides, Denis stabbed me in the back. Last time in the bathroom" Norita smiled wryly. Unplug the HP charger and go out of the room.

Denis was smoking on the front porch. Actually, the change of day to night looks beautiful if you pay attention. When the natural painting that was originally light green then changed color to dark green, and some time later look blackened. The silhouette of the trees in the hills was very pampering to the eyes.

The air that was originally cool, began to turn cold as if making the skin freeze. The breeze blew Denis's 'wearing' hair'. Black clouds are visible at some point in space.

Denis saw his HP. There was no signal and the wifi went off without explanation. A day without his social media Denis felt like his life was a mess. Though usually, every hour he will greet his followers who amounted to hundreds of thousands. But now, he could only open and close his HP screen lock.

Plaakkkk

A pat from behind made Denis soar in shock. Turns out Iva, crouching behind Denis while smiling.

"Damn it! I can take my heart off!" Denis swearing, annoyed.

"Ha ha ha, what are you thinking Mr Selebgram?" Iva asked while chuckling.

"I didn't think of anything. Just spent a cigarette of mine," Denis cuek said.

"Emm, after I thought, isn't it too cruel to keep Bayu in his room?" Iva sat next to Denis.

"Huh? Why discuss the obvious? We just need to get Mella, and we're done," Denis said convincingly.

"What if your guess is wrong? Not them both criminals," Iva shook her hands, unable to stand the smell of Denis's cigarettes.

"Who else would it be if they weren't the two criminals? Me? Or you? Let us think with reason and logic Va. Those two people, have the ability to conquer others. Bayu is a police officer who is good at martial arts, it is easy of course to subdue Dipta for example. While Mella is a health worker who definitely knows and memorizes with drugs, some kind of anesthetic or others. We don't know until now what caused Dipta's death" Denis was visibly emotional.

"The night before the death of Dipta I heard a sound like a wall being struck and stomped from the room of Dipta. I'm sure Bayu and Mella were snatching up and paralyzing Dipta. Then they gave Dipta some kind of medicine to let him die slowly" Denis said.

"Did you forget, in the morning at breakfast Hendra got WA from Dipta? That means, in the morning Dipta is still living Denis," Iva denied.

Denis silent. He was annoyed by Iva's words. Denis was so convinced by his conjecture that he tried to deny that there were many gaps and holes in his theories and prejudices.

"Damn! My bad mood is close to you" Denis grumbled and left Iva alone.

Iva remained sitting unmoved in her place. Look at the sky that looks increasingly dark. He realized something, but was afraid to reveal it.

The night is getting late. On the banks of the river not far from the house of the Rich Man a human figure walked in silence. His left leg was slightly dragged, carrying a piece of fresh meat in his hand.

The figure approached the trembesi tree with an iron cage underneath. In the darkness of the night, there were two pairs of shining eyes behind the cold iron bars.

The mysterious figure looked at the savage eyes that were inside the cage. Throwing fresh meat inside, which was instantly avenged by a deafening long howl by a mindless wild creature.

"There's a duty for you."

A single slanted grin that felt even scarier than the savage eyes in the cage.
