The River House

The River House
3. The journey through the forest

A black car was traveling at a fairly high speed. Several puddles of rainwater were used overnight several times, leaving a brownish stain on the previously shiny clean alloy wheels.

The driver was a thirty-year-old woman. Short shoulder-length hair, with a brownish blonde color. Iva Nora is a performer on the theater stage, with a myriad of achievements in recent years.

With all the success that has been achieved, Iva saves a strange problem. Her husband was a heavy drinker, as well as an acute gambling man. Currently, his family is in quite large debt. Iva's family finances are in very bad shape. Even the car he was driving right now was a rental car.

Luckily, when the difficulty was twisting and strangling him came an invitation from a friend during his high school first. An invitation to a banquet, as well as for money. Actually Iva had thought strangely, why arrived just, no wind no rain his high school friend invited him? However, as if there was no other choice and no reason to refuse, Iva was currently heading to Zainul Rikhman's house.

Iva stopped her car in a field on the riverbank. There was a dense bamboo grove swinging crazily in the wind. Bamboo that serves as a living fence so that the riverbank soil does not experience erosion when the rainy season and floods come. There are a few motorcycles parked there.

Not far from where Iva stopped, two people were standing while watching her arrival. Iva immediately got out of the car, picked up the backpack in the back seat and carried it. He walked over to the two people who were waving their hands at him.

"Hallo Iva," said one of the people who waved. He is Bayu.

The other person is Mella. A nurse at the largest hospital in T county. Two people who were Iva's classmates in XI IPA 5 first.

"You also got an invitation from Zainul?" Iva asked full of questions.

"Yep. A tempting invitation, right? Zainul Rich Man" Mella smiled.

"After receiving the invitation letter, I immediately called Mella. Ask him if he got the same invitation, considering that in the letter Zainul did not use your 'word', but your 'word. So I'm sure there's someone else invited besides me. Especially in the package also includes a photo of us posing in class IPA 5," Bayu chimed.

"A police officer's analysis is sharp. I was hesitant to come, but with a policeman here I was calmer," Iva sighed, her expression relieved.

"What makes you doubt? And why do you have to calm down when there's a cop?" Bayu asked with great emphasis.

"Ah, yes how. Didn't we used to be less good to Zainul yes," said Iva hesitated.

The atmosphere was instantly silent for a moment. Everyone was silent, busy with their thoughts. The past they want to forget is back.

"Ah, we should talk while walking," said Mella distracting.

"Yes, maybe another friend of a friend has arrived at Zainul's house" Bayu chimed.

All agreed to continue their journey. The three of them carried their backpack each along the path with a view of the towering and tight-knit sengon and acacia trees.

The sound of tonggeret and other insect insects sounded earthy, as if so happy to see the arrival of the humans. The air that was so cool and slightly moist was inhaled by the sense of smell of everyone who was walking brushed the grass in their eyes.

The morning sunlight barging through the gaps between the trees produced an abstract image on the ground. Occasional bird chirping is also heard at high altitudes. Maybe the animal that never falsified, jumping from one branch to another, enjoying the morning with his herd.

Bayu tickled. So peaceful his heart enjoyed the entertainment of such nature.

"Hey, by the way have you read the news yesterday? Rame was really on the medsos" Mella asked starting the conversation.

"What news?" Tukas Iva, while adjusting the breath. The road they walked began to rise.

"Mother Ami? Our first BK teacher?" Iva asked to make sure.

Mella nodded, while Bayu seemed unconcerned by the conversation of the two women in front of her.

"What makes a came in the news is at the table next to where Bu Ami committed suicide, there is a new novel by Zainul. The novel that only printed a hundred copies," Mella sighed.

"How do you think Bay is?" Iva threw a question at Bayu who had just been quiet.

"Huh? What's?" Bayu scrunched his forehead.

"As a policeman you must have known about Bu Ami's suicide?" Iva looks a little irritated.

"Yes, I already know. So why? It was pure suicide."

"The reason for Ms Ami's suicide is what Bay? Why is Zainul's novel there?" Iva came back to scout Bayu with her question.

"It has nothing to do with it. It could be just a coincidence. Ami lives alone in her old age. Her husband left her and she has no children. Maybe he was depressed about it all. Besides, I have applied for leave from yesterday to visit here. I don't know what the details are" Tukas Bayu.

"By the way, why are you willing to take time off to get to Zainul Bay?" Mella interrupted the conversation.

"Yes, because I want to see Zainul. What about you guys? What's it about being tempted with a reward?" Bayu smiled wryly.

Hearing Bayu's question, Iva looks wrong. He was willing to come indeed for the money that Zainul promised in his letter. Iva did not care and did not want to know the situation of Zainul. He only cares about the money.

Mella stopped her steps. He crouched down in the middle of the path they were about to cross.

"Ending this useless conversation. Let's take a break first. This calf feels like it's about to explode," Mella grimaced, she was exhausted.

"Now also halfway Mel," Bayu protested, but in the end he stopped also obeying Mella's request.

"You guys look familiar. Still often WA nan or what?" Iva seduces Bayu and Mella.

"Yes. You see besides Bayu, classmate on the change number all including you. We also don't have Group chat," Mella snorted in annoyance.

"Well, when we get married that world will change. Priorities in life will shift. I decided to limit my friendships and the world of social media. You have not felt it, because you two are still busy single until now," said Iva kalem, but the word pierced. Mella was silent this time.

Bayu not too dizzy with Iva's speech. He was busy looking around. The towering trees, there was only a slightly grass-covered path in the middle. What kind of person likes to live in an isolated place like this? Bayu saw his HP, it was not reachable signal.

Zainul Rikhman. .What kind of person are you now?
