Chapter 9 part 1

In the evening, I infiltrated the 2nd Army on duty to attack the city of Arc. My goal in infiltrating this army was not to help, but rather I just wanted to see firsthand how they accomplished this extremely troublesome task.

The temperature tonight was very cold because we attacked at midnight. We were lucky enough that the moon was shining brightly that we didn't have to wear torches. To facilitate the disguise, we wear a titan-colored robe equipped with a headscarf. We sneaked into the buildings on the border while observing the movements of the guards on guard.

The border between the northern city and the city of Arc was bounded by a very thick wall. If we destroy the wall completely, we will definitely be found out. The atmosphere of silence enveloped us as the guards on the wall were patrolling with flashlights and guns.

The guards finally finished patrolling for a few minutes. Seeing that, the commander of the 2nd army immediately told us to move towards the great wall. Once near the wall, people began to wonder how they would infiltrate. Among the engaged men, someone stepped forward and placed his hand on the wall.

The man continued to stand in silence while pinning both his hands against the wall. Moments later, the wall he touched began to turn into dust to make a hole as big as a human. After feeling that it was enough, he walked back in the army. Everyone was just astonished to see him doing that incredible thing, yet the person doing it acted as if it was just a small thing.

Without wasting any more time, the commander of the 2nd army immediately ordered us to enter the hole. At the command of the commander, we went into the hole in quick succession. Behind the thick walls or where we stand now, as far as the eye can see there is only grassland. When we all entered enemy territory, I saw a guard who noticed our presence and frantically ran.

Suddenly the guard was held captive by one of the 2nd squad members. The guard tried to rebel and shout, but immediately the person who ambushed him broke the guard's neck.

“After this we will split. I hope you guys are careful when doing an ambush. There must not be a guard or a commoner who sees our actions.” The commander gave the direction in a slow tone so as not to be heard by the guards.

The commander observed us for a while and said, “If you have understood, then the mission is declared to have begun. Disperse!”

The entire 2nd squad member immediately dispersed without answering the commander's words. Now all that's left here is me and the commander.

“Why don't you disperse like everyone else?” ask the commander.

“I have to make preparations in advance to be able to carry out this mission without failure.” My answer.

“Good. Then don't get caught.” The commander warned as he left casually.

Don't be taken seriously, I'm just kidding about that. The reason why I'm still here is obvious because I want to follow the commander. I as usual activated the invisible mode and suppressed my strength and started to walk after the commander.

The commander continued to follow the direction of the wall. Looks like he wants to know the headquarters of the guards because he saw the guards who had been killed earlier run towards this direction.maybe soon I will see a very interesting show.

I continued to follow the commander until we finally found a tent guarded by several guards. The commander stopped walking and looked for a place to hide. After a while, he finally found a large stone. He hid behind the stone and kept watching the guards.

The commander continued to watch the guards without getting out of place for a few minutes. I felt so bored that he showed no signs of attacking.

I just let time pass without doing anything. But in the end boredom enveloped me. It's really annoying, but if I don't do it, I'll definitely be swallowed up by boredom.

I took a branch that happened to be near me and threw it at one of the guards. The twig hit the guard's head. The guard was surprised and glanced around vigilantly.

Realizing that someone threw a twig at the guard, the commander turned around. He was amazed to find no one behind him. It was obvious that I was behind him, but he couldn't see me because I used an invisible technique.

He immediately turned around again for not being aware of me, but when he turned around 5 guards were already right in front of him with rifles pointed at him.

The commander raised his hand while standing up and said, “I'm sorry I'm just a commoner, so that's it.., can you guys lower your rifles.”.

“Before that, show your ID.” Said one of the guards.

“Anu.., the.., sorry I forgot to bring my ID.”

The commander said that in a chaotic tone and was slightly stammered. I know he must be confused to solve this problem. But if this is not the case then I will drown in boredom. So how do you handle this.

“Then follow us to the board of guards for public safety.”

“No.., that.., I am currently in a hurry, so I apologize for not being able to follow your instructions.”

“This command! You have no right to argue. Follow us!” snarled one of the guards to the commander.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. It becomes very interesting to watch. Too bad I forgot to bring the snack. Haih, it turns out that being too rushed can make me forget something important while watching the show.

“Don't I tell you it can't.” The commander replied while lowering his hand.

The 5 guards became alert when they saw the commander change his attitude. Commander retreated 2 steps ago said, “You're very curious about my name ‘kan?” the commander removed his black cloak then continued his words, “I am Charlie Covery.”

It's really surprising, I didn't expect that the remote control technique was still around since the massacre 1 year ago. But the most surprising thing is the name. I never thought that she was from the same family as Rias, the Recovery family. They may be brothers, but I feel it is impossible. If Rias and Charlie were brothers, it was likely that the person who would lead this alliance would be Charlie instead of Rias. Ah, this just makes me dizzy.

Charlie approached the bodies of the people he had killed earlier and smashed their heads with his arms. Inside the heads of the men was a small white pearl. These pearls are the source of the transformation of this world into a fantasy world.

The pearls are the source of the power that people of this age have gained. Only with the pearls embedded in the head could they use what was called a power control technique. Such as fire control techniques, wind, lightning and so on. But in some cases, there are people who use other sources to use force control techniques, namely colored crystals that are one level above the pearl.

The ones who used the power controlling technique from the source of the color crystal were basically able to defeat around 10 or so people who used the source power from the pearl. One of the people who used this source of power was Cresh. Using the source power of the color crystal, he had the purple energy controlling technique. But with his current condition, I doubt he can control that power completely. Perhaps that was also why he could be defeated by Rias in the match that time.

I kept watching Charlie who was picking up pearls from the corpses of the guards. Suddenly a sword was thrown at him. Charlie turned around and held the sword with his long-range controlling technique. He stood up and stared at the sword it came from.

From where the sword was thrown, a large man appeared, wearing a blue uniform with the coat of arms of the Alastein state army on his left.

“Wah, wow, wow. Didn't think I'd see a scavenger on this sunny night.” said the man, applauding.

“Kukuku. I guess who's coming. Turns out it was just a guard dog playing around.” Charlie Eject.

The man laughed when he heard Charlie's taunts and stopped after a while and started saying again, “Isn't a guard dog better than a rabid stray dog like you. Did you forget what you went through 6 months ago, Charlie Recovery.”

The man knew Charlie. I don't know what they're talking about, but I can understand that it was very painful for Charlie. It seems to be getting interesting.

“Come, I didn't think you'd make me recall that incident, Karl Dominic.” Charlie replied in a flat tone.

“Hahaha, how could I possibly forget your screams when you lost the person most precious to you. Hahaha.”

Charlie unceremoniously attacked the man named Karl with a sword controlled by his technique. In response to the surprise attack, Karl clenched his hand and punched the sword. The moment the sword hit his fist, it instantly shattered into pieces.

“As expected of the leader of the dogs. Your strength is indeed extraordinary, Karl.” Comment Charlie.

“Yes, yes, yes. I've heard those words a lot, yet I've never heard anyone say that to me in such a dull tone like you. Maybe I should give you a gift.”

“I'm flattered to get a gift from a great dog like you.”

“then be quiet and die.”

Karl advanced and attacked Charlie from the front. But suddenly his movement stopped when he was a few steps in front of Charlie. Karl shouted while forcing his body to move. While Charlie directs both hands forward while biting his lips to stay afloat.

The atmosphere became tense, they looked like magnets that repelled each other but were forced to unite. The two looked balanced for a while, but the balance was now beginning to falter. Charlie began to push back, while Karl began to move forward little by little.

Charlie begins to lose his balance, but he doesn't want to fall. He kept trying to push, suddenly Karl's strength weakened. Seeing an opportunity, Charlie tries to push him. Karl was thrown very far away, Charlie felt relieved as he relaxed his body. But suddenly Karl moved quickly and hit Charlie to the point of bouncing far away.

“Hahaha. I can't believe you're being so stupid now. Though I used to be troubled by you, but now you are so weak.”

“You are too.” Charlie answered as he stood up and approached Karl.

Without Karl noticing many pebbles started attacking him. Karl quickly spun around and endured all those attacks with his fist. The gravel attacks increasingly attacked him, yet he was able to casually destroy everything.

Meanwhile, Charlie continues to maintain the balance of his injured body. From Karl's previous fist, he should have been dead by now. But he managed to block the attack with all his strength so that he could survive until now.

Charlie pointed his hands forward, and the pebble that attacked Karl increased. Karl continued to try to get out of the attack, but what attacked him was not only pebbles but also bullets. Karl was exhausted from Charlie's attack until a bullet hit his left leg. The balance of his body became unsteady and finally fell down and then Charlie showered him with attacks of pebbles and bullets.

The attack finally stopped, Charlie's legs seemed to tremble and he finally lost his balance and collapsed. From inside his mouth blood started to flow out. Charlie coughed and spewed out the blood while supporting his body with both hands so as not to lie down.

I was still silent after watching their fight. I don't think their fight was too good. Because that fight looks like a strategy fight and not a power fight.

Soon the guards started coming. Charlie panicked and tried hard to get out of the place. But before he could leave, one of the guards realized his whereabouts and then the guard shot him to death.

The guards approached Charles and Charlie's dead bodies while whispering about Karl's defeat. I know they must be dissatisfied that Karl lost. But they don't know how strong Charlie is. Maybe if Charlie wasn't hurt, he could've killed those guards. But the man was even ill-fated.

Maybe that's what we call destiny. But the worst part of Charlie's death here is the possibility that the guards were aware of the attack from the northern city alliance.

Hm.., looks like things are going to start to get interesting. I'd better go see the other shows before the main show starts.
