Pleasure and sadness

Many people say that the two things are very different, and even very far apart, because pleasure makes us feel comfort, while sadness makes us remember pain. But I don't think so. I think both are the same thing, because they arise from the overflow of one's emotions. That said, they are the same origin.

However, that reason is still unacceptable, just because they are of the same origin, does not mean they are similar. That is true, I will not deny it either. Even so, they still remain attached, because pleasure and sadness can make humans feel life. You can imagine, if this self has no emotions. I'm pretty sure, that we'll just feel empty.

In addition, pleasure and sadness can also change the path and principles of one's life. For example, a person who is always happy to be pampered can never go further before he feels lost. And the person who only feels sadness in his life, will continue to be pessimistic, but will change when he gets hope, be it because of seeing the pleasure of others or other things.

It's like a bunch of shit. But I am still confident in my opinion. The nature of the two is different, but the interdependence. And if you have felt these two things, maybe you will understand the meaning of life.

For me, life is the moment where this self can feel both things, then pass through them without giving up. Because when we give up, everything will be chaotic irregularly, to make life feel empty. However, if you can bounce back, it would be nice, but a little annoying to have to start all over again.

----

Inside a private library with so many bookshelves already filled. In the corner of the room, there was a pair of tables and chairs, where I sat reading a sheet of paper tucked into a book in my hand. It's not so interesting, just a joke out of who. It could be a friend who gave me this book who wrote it.

"Is that interesting?" ask the young man sitting next to me.

Without turning towards him, I replied nonchalantly. "I don't understand what that means."

"Then. What is that sadness you think?"

Again he asked about the matter related to the contents of the sheet of paper. I was a little confused as to how to answer it. Maybe it's better to just answer.

"It seems, it is an emotion that arises when a person loses something valuable to him, or because he already feels helpless and down."

"So why should there be sadness? Wouldn't it be good if we could just be happy?"

For a moment, the atmosphere became silent, then my friend earlier, broke the silence. "Do you know the answer?"

"I've thought about it for a long time, but never found the right reason."

"On the paper it is written, pleasure and sorrow are interrelated"

"That's bullshit."

"What's your reason for saying it?"

"Of course."

"That's not bullshit, it's just, you don't want to take it. There it is said that one must sometimes face sadness, in order to obtain pleasure. I think that's what makes life interesting. Am I wrong?"

"I don't know. We can't prove it."

"You just need a moment to think about it. No more than that."

"I wouldn't be satisfied if I hadn't found proof."

It looks like, it's interesting enough to dig deep. Is the writing on the paper just nonsense, or maybe a fact. I can't wait for the time when all this will be revealed.
