FLASH BACK ON
Kayla's steps swayed rapidly to climb every step of the towering stairs. A sweat fell on her thin and a loud sigh rang out from her mouth, no longer caring. Zahra's shadow which was now in danger kept spinning in her brain. The voice behind the phone pumped out his determination to get to his destination soon.
Kayla paused at the end of the stairs while taking a deep breath and ran back to Habibi's room.
Brakk..
Habibi was aghast as Kayla violently pushed the door of her room, with a breath that had also caught on.
"What the hell are you, Kay," Habibi rebuked in a stern tone..
"Sister Zahra, please Brother Zahra, Brother. Brother Zahra. "the voice of Kayla disjointed with tears began to flow.
"Zahra why?" Habibi began to panic, especially seeing Kayla tear up.
Kayla's voice seemed to be choked until she had trouble telling Zahra the current state. He simply held out his phone to Habibi so that the man could hear it himself.
"Must I mention Hafiz first, that you may remember me? Ha. ha. ha. ha. if you hadn't chosen her, maybe now you wouldn't have been widowed."
"Let go! Don't you ever touch me."
Habibi's body pecked at Zahra's scream across the phone.
"Where is Zahra now?" habibi asked Kayla with hardened jaws, her face began to turn red with anger.
"Appartments, sister," Kayla replied with great difficulty.
"Stop crying, call the police now" Habibi said in a high voice. He was no less panicked and worried than Kayla.
Without wasting any time Habibi ran as fast as he could towards Zahra's apartment. He did not care about the astonished gazes of the people as he ran like a doormat, down the hospital hallway to the car park. Even throughout the trip he did not care about the sound of the horn that was mutually unpretentious because he was driving a car like a crazy person.
Arriving in front of the 30-story building, Habibi got out of the car without parking it where it should be. He rushed into the building .
"Sir" said one of the security guards when he saw Habibi enter.
Instead of answering kindly as usual, Habibi actually poured his anger on the apartment worker.
"What are you guys doing all day, huh? to the point of not knowing any criminals had entered this building" cried Habibi.
Zahra's shadow in danger puts her out of control. Two security guards and two receptionists threw eyes at the boss of the apartment they were working in, shouting furiously without them knowing the cause.
Habibi rubbed his face rough. Remembering that his beloved woman was in danger, he left the four men without explanation.
His heart was pumping fast, his jaw was hardened, and the fist in his hand was getting hardened indicating his anger was mounting. With a single break, the door of Zahra's apartment just escaped. Habibi could see the contents of the room that had been messy, stuff scattered everywhere. And what made him more astonished was when his net caught the sea-blue object that Zahra made as his head covering, lying on the floor. Habibi took it and held it tightly while gritting his teeth until it sounded.
The sound of a woman's sobbing accompanied by a laugh mocked a man, leading Habibi's steps up to the room. His eyes were round to see what was happening there. With a thousand steps, he approached and kicked the strong man bastard who was about to taste the angel of his heart. He mercilessly beat the man to a helpless fall. The call from Zahra stopped his wrath on Arga, otherwise he would have taken the man's life.
The sharp highlight full of anger was gone by changing heartily, when he saw the sad condition of the lover of heart. Habibi's heart was also torn to see the great crying and sobbing of Zahra's lips. With a sliced heart, Habibi approached Zahra and lowered his body right in front of his beloved woman.
"Don't come any closer!" lirih Zahra with a quivering tone.
It was clear that the woman was terrified.
"It's me, Zah" Habibi said softly.
Slowly Zahra raised her head. His face was flooded with tears. Seeing Habibi, the stuffing is getting hardened making Habibi's heart ache. Habibi raised both hands, he covered Zahra's head which featured her long, slightly messy hair with the headscarf she had picked up from the floor.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here" Habibi said, sounding calming.
Habibi's eyes turned to look at Zahra's clothes that had been torn on the arm and buttons of the upper shirt that had been removed, which is now held tightly to the end by Zahra. After putting a headscarf on Zahra's head, Habibi took off her coat and put it on her body.
"Awaaasss." shouted someone, immediately making Habibi's attention directed to the man he had made helpless.
Arga pointed the gun at Habibi and Zahra with her index finger ready to pull the trigger. The man smiled slanting towards the two.
"If I can't have Zahra, that means nobody can have it" he said with a scary grin.
Door..
Door..
Door..
Just as the sound of firing was heard in the air, Habibi swiftly pulled Zahra's body in his arms, hiding the body behind his body.
The pitch-black blood splashed out in all directions, as the bullet pierced through the skin of one's body. Arga. The man immediately fell to the floor after firing a single shot at Habibi.
Habibi lowered his head to coincide with Zahra who was staring at him with the glare of my eyes.
"Are you okay, Zah?" habibi asked quietly with frowning brows.
No answer came out of Zahra's lips. The woman stared fixedly at Habibi's face then seconds later her eyes closed with her body slumped helplessly into Habibi's embrace.
FLASH BACK OFF
In his panic, Kayla ran towards Habibi who was holding Zahra's body tightly. Behind him two men in police uniforms, just lowered both hands after releasing two shots into Arga's body.
"Sister Zahra?" call Kayla who is now sitting in front of Habibi with tears running down her cheeks.
"It's okay, Kay. He was just in shock" Habibi said.
"Sleeve of Brother Ilash.."
Kayla closed her mouth to sob when she saw fresh blood pouring out and staining the sleeves of the white shirt Habibi was wearing.
"Little wounds, it's okay."
Kayla sobbed and was as hot as Habibi could still calm herself down.
"You can go to the hospital right now, sir, to treat your wounds. And for the body of brother Arga and his crime, let us from the police who take care of him," said a man in police uniform.
Habibi nodded in understanding. With the rest of his strength, he lifted and carried Zahra's body followed by Kayla.
* * * * *
More than three hours had passed, yet Zahra was still unmoved in her unconsciousness. The woman still closed her eyes without any sign of waking up. Kayla helped Habibi wrap her arm that was injured by shooting Arga, Habibi continued to refuse treatment because she wanted to ensure Zahra's condition first, but the pain made her succumb and ended up being handled Kayla. Luckily the shot just grazed his skin instead of penetrating so that the wound was not too deep and risky.
"Thank you, Kay," Habibi said after Kayla finished wrapping her arm.
Kayla just nodded. To be honest he was still in shock, seeing firsthand the events that made his body tremble in fear.
"It has. Now that everything's safe and okay, don't be afraid anymore,"
Habibi raised his left hand, rubbing the top of Kayla's head to give her some calm.
"Sister Zahra?" kayla said slowly.
Habibi turned his gaze, staring softly at Zahra. He also did not know when Zahra would wake up.
"Give him time to control and calm himself down. His emotions are unstable. Many burdens were stored in his heart and mind that he could not take out all this time. He holds his difficulties and grief alone. And I think Zahra is currently at its lowest point" said a doctor standing next to Zahra's gurney.
"How should we do now, Fris? when will he be like this?" ask Habibi impatiently..
"Yes, Fris. When did Brother Zahra wake up?" Kayla asked.
"I can't be sure when Zahra will wake up. It all depends on his own desire. Moreover, before Zahra had a history of similar symptoms in the past," replied Friska, a doctor who works as a psychiatrist.
Habibi breathed his heavy breath. There are many things he does not know about Zahra. He also did not know, as deep and as big as what burden the woman was carrying. A burden that makes it seem like he no longer wants to continue his life.
"I'm tired of living this life. Fate doesn't seem to be friendly with me."
"It doesn't mean to complain about destiny. I just felt like fate was playing tricks on me, testing me endlessly in so many different ways that I didn't have the strength to get up."
The words Zahra said the other day kept spinning in her brain. Habibi massaged his temple plan.
"Just pray, and give Zahra some spirit. Despite being unconscious, Zahra could still hear the voices around her. I hope it motivates Zahra to wake up" Friska said, patting Habibi on the shoulder.
Habibi slightly squinted his eyes at Friska. He removed his shoulder from the woman who was his cousin. Whoever he is, whatever his status, Habibi doesn't like people touching him the rest of his body.
Friska sighed as she pursed her lips. He knew very well Habibi's attitude, but the woman was still upset if Habibi was too excessive in his attitude.
"Yes, I went back to my room first. If there's anything, just tell me, I'll be here again" Friska broke up with a half-excited face.
Shortly after Friska left, Habibi got up from his seat.
"Kay, you take care of Zahra first. I have to go back to the apartment to take care of the rest. If the business is done, then Brother will come here again," said Habibi.
"Hmmm. don't be long, brother,"
"Yes" said Habibi as he stepped out.
* * * * *
The gurgling of the water sounded in rhythm, creating a melodious groove that calmed his heart. His gaze swept all over the corner revealing unparalleled natural beauty. His smile was so sweet that anyone who saw it was stunned by the beauty of his face.
The woman walked barefoot on a soft, green grass. The footsteps led him to the banks of the river that looked so clear the water. A gust of wind felt soothe the skin of his face to the long khimar that he used to dance beautifully because of it. Again and again, a smile fell on her sweet lips. He spread out both his hands with his head looking up and eyes closed, enjoying the beauty and serenity that nature created.
"Yes,"
Someone's voice caught his attention. He opened his eyes and twisted his body. Instantly the look in his eyes emitted a twinkle of happiness mixed with haru. His eyes began to glaze over. With quick steps, he ran towards the owner of the voice.
"Dad.. Mother. "bluffing with legs that are increasingly rapidly swinging.
The body spluttered, hugging his two loved ones whom he so longed for.
In another dimension, one is aghast when one hears the shrill voice of someone who has been sleeping quietly all day.
"Dad.. Mother. "bluffing Zahra with eyes still closed. From the corner of his eyes began to flow clear liquid.
Habibi gasped at that.
"Don't go. Don't stay in Zahra." raved Zahra in a soft voice.
Habibi's heart crumbled to see how fragile the woman he loved so much was. Slowly her fingers were raised to gently wipe away the rushing tears in Zahra's closed eyes. While his left hand, he used to gently rub Zahra's head while saying do'a in his heart.
It means: “Yes Allah, I ask Thee a soul that is at ease with Thee, that is sure to meet Thee, that is pleased with Thy decree, and that feels sufficient with Thy gift.”
