"Where are all found items such as heirlooms and other valuables taken?" bao Yu asked a field commander.
"Everything has been evacuated to the Knight Alliance Headquarters," the commander replied respectfully to the army.
"Thank you," Bao Yu said as he nodded politely. Then hurriedly pulled Shen Zhu out of the village that was already the burial area and carried him flying towards the capital.
He had a lot of things to do, impatiently wanting to go see the alliance leader immediately.
He hoped that today the proud leader would be willing to meet him and give him permission to inspect Liu's family heirlooms, even though he knew it wasn't easy.
Bao Yu was still busy thinking about the possibility of the dark aura that was hindering Shen Zhu's spiritual power coming from one of his family heirlooms when he finally reached the Demon Hunt Knight Alliance's Headquarters, the Demon Hunt Knight Alliance, a most magnificent building in the capital with a height of six floors, with no less than forty window platforms.
He landed on the highway and walked through the black iron gate, climbed a few front steps, and knocked on the copper-headed qilin door.
Shen Zhu followed behind him without speaking.
When the door opened, Bao Yu showed his membership plate to a large high-bodied bodyguard with covered armor and steel helmet carrying a spear and glamorous shield that only the higher-ups had, he said, then introduce himself in a friendly and brief manner. "Can you tell the chairman that I've come on a critical note?"
The bodyguard inspected his membership plate, then noticed Bao Yu and Shen Zhu taking turns. "You're here for a meeting?"
"Meet?" Bao Yu looked at him in surprise. "No."
"Oh! Alright. I'm sorry." The bodyguard suddenly got a little clumsy, then cleared his throat. "Please forgive my mistake, Young Master!"
"No problem" said Bao Yu. "I'm sure Mr. Chairman would like to see me. Just tell me from the Baohu Sect. Just yesterday our college adopted a boy on his decision. And now we're facing a little problem." He adds. He was not used to explaining himself to a guard.
But then the bodyguard passed by and told Bao Yu that there was a meeting going on inside, warning that something was going on.
Bao Yu tried her best to take the bodyguard's heart to gain his trust. However the guard had the power to prevent him from meeting the chief.
"All right, Young Master. Come inside. I'll tell the chairman that you're coming."
"Thank you," said Bao Yu carefully, while watching over the bodyguard. Then glanced at the other bodyguards.
The bodyguard looked a little nervous, Bao Yu thought. He clasped Shen Zhu's wrist and guided her as he stepped in following the bodyguard through another heavily guarded door that only a person with a special plate of the knight alliance could pass through.
The bodyguard directed Bao Yu into a large hall dominated by brown color with shiny brown board floors towards the luxurious foyer.
Getting there, Bao Yu was asked to wait.
Something strange is going on here, Bao Yu thought with an already familiar feeling of vigilance. The feeling he often experienced before an ambush on the battlefield.
So, Headquarters is holding a secret meeting in the Chairman's private room?
Too bad he wasn't invited!
When the bodyguard went to inform the chief of the uninvited guest's arrival, Bao Yu looked at the luxurious foyer with a suspicious feeling that suddenly appeared. Then he noticed a voice that sounded angry from upstairs.
"Please!" scream someone.
Bao Yu's eyebrows shot up upon hearing some mixed sounds that he could not understand. The bodyguard must have walked into the room where the alliance officials and elders were meeting, as the debate between them instantly came to a halt. They sound very uncomfortable.
Bao Yu removed her grasp from Shen Zhu's wrist and folded her hands behind his body, trying to look unconcerned.
Meanwhile, upstairs…
"What?" The whole room was strangling.
"Not Bao Hu?" The chairman knitted his brows.
"No, Master!" the bodyguard replied without daring to raise his face..
"A subordinate alone dares to interfere," the alliance head grumbled.
"But the plate is first class," the guard politely said.
The entire room simultaneously held its breath, then muttered like an agitated bee.
A few minutes have passed. Bao Yu reckoned with the surrounding room vigilantly, and very much wished the bodyguard back and told him that the chief was not in place.
But when the waiting room door opened, it was precisely the chairman himself who stepped down to meet Bao Yu, his face red and looking a little annoyed.
Bao Yu turned her body facing towards the stairs as the middle-aged man approached.
"Young man, what brings you here? I don't have much time."
"Thank you for seeing me." Bao Yu bowed respectfully, but still watched over the alliance chief warily. Instantly he realized that asking about the meeting that took place upstairs would not take him anywhere. "I just want to know if the items found from the destroyed village such as heirlooms and other valuables have been brought here" Bao Yu said carefully.
"What gives you the courage to ask this question?" the chief's snapping somewhat surprised Bao Yu—and especially Shen Zhu, with his explosive nature.
"There's one family whose heir is still alive, did you forget?" Bao Yu nodded towards Shen Zhu.
The chief followed the glances of his eyes and let out a rough sigh. "Of course I don't forget" he said. "But you mustn't forget either, your college isn't the only one adopting an heir."
"I didn't actually come here to ask for Liu's family's inheritance rights" Bao Yu said, not wishing to mince words. "Just want to be sure if this family heirloom has arrived here because I need it for research."
"Research?" the chairman squinted his eyes while scatting.
Bao Yu showed me the badge.
It turns out the theorist! he said in his heart. It is only fitting to have a first class plate. "I understand" he said carefully. "But there is a process that must be run. If I were you, to be honest, I'd anticipate a delay."
"Delay?" Bao Yu raised her next to her eyebrows. "Is there a problem?"
"I'm not a magician who can pull a rabbit out of his hat in an instant! Of course there's no problem. It just takes time."
"How long?"
"Months! Many years.it's hard to be sure!"
"Those years?" bao Yu was surprised. "I understand…"
But, actually Bao Yu did not understand anything.
He could not imagine what kind of situation it would take years to examine a masterless heirloom.
In the end, Bao Yu did not get a reasonable explanation. Suddenly he was fed up. Mouth's drying. Somehow he got the impression as if the chairman was trying to cover something up.
Something is really wrong!
