The God of Cataka

The Blood Covenant Land glittered like a jewel garden.

Flower buds bloom magically and emit light from their pistils like lanterns.

All the insects in the forest lit up in colour. Even colorful fireflies. So does the sprinkling of pollen from the pistils of flowers, colorful lights scattered like snowflakes.

The slender bamboo trees and oak trees grew curved towards the valley at the foot of the hill. Beneath it, shimmering bushes sprinkled with colourful beads of light scattered by insects and flowers.

Shen Zhu was astonished at the sight. He glanced over his shoulder and was stunned.

The gate behind him disappeared, and his elder brothers did not catch up.

Coinciding with that, Jialin stood behind him, looking back with the same expression. He remembered as he entered the gate, Jiangwu lined it up. But the young man suddenly disappeared, as well as the gate.

The next second, the two turned their heads and looked straight ahead in astonishment. Stunned by the view.

Jialin stepped slowly while clucking in admiration and stopped right by Shen Zhu's side.

Shen Zhu jerked his head to the side and frowned. As the possessor of spiritual power that had already reached the galactic realm, Shen Zhu could capture subtle movements such as breath and hair flicks to the lightest footsteps. But he didn't see anything.

Shortly afterwards, he heard the sound of other footsteps and more and more gasps.

His brothers lined his left-right side. But they don't see each other. Each of them finds themselves alone.

That was what Elder Yun meant by, "In addition to monsters, you guys can't establish communication!"

The Blood Covenant Land was engulfed in magic energy that gave rise to hallucinations. It keeps the person trapped in an illusion, where he feels himself lost and like the spiritual beasts that are there.

In the Blood Covenant Land, each kind of beast consisted of only one tail. That was why finding suitable monsters was extremely difficult. To replace the already taken monsters with the same kind of monsters, it would take tens to hundreds of years. So that in every generation of knights no one has the same kind of monster.

The illusion of feeling a piece of kara was necessary for the knight and his fellow monsters to find each other. It was commonly called the Inner Bond of the Blood Covenant.

Shen Zhu is an exception!

Just like the sea of elements, heirlooms and sacred books, spiritual monsters also rejected it.

As soon as Shen Zhu slid down to walk down the valley at the foot of the hill, the monsters there simultaneously scattered and ran away in droves.

"Hei—" Shen Zhu stuttered with one hand outstretched forward reaching for empty air. Am I really the Sky Level Grim Bitch Boy? thought. Even monsters avoid me!

Not giving up until there, Shen Zhu continued his search, further and further into the valley. Then entered a cave in the stomach of a mountain.

Dark energy might help, he thought. But even the monsters that were hiding within the darkness, were scattering out leaving behind their respective hideouts.

"I don't mean to be evil," Shen Zhu muttered as he looked at the monsters with a clear look. Then with both shoulders hanging limply by his side, he turned around and stepped out following the fuzzy horde of monsters.

And so on for days, every monster that saw him ran away.

Shen Zhu's steps had already reached the other side of the forest and were almost at the border.

The remaining time was only a day when he found a river with a more stunning view.

The monsters there also flinched and scattered to see his appearance.

A golden-winged eagle finally settles down on a rock in the middle of the river. It is no smaller than a horse.

The eagle shakes his head and observes Shen Zhu.

Shen Zhu rushed over to him with a crisp face. Then stretched out one hand toward the eagle.

But then the eagle let out a short sigh and shook his head. Then fly back.

Shen Zhu looked up at the eagle with a disappointed look. Then sigh and squash. He turned to the side as the bushes crowded and found a winged deer grazing.

Shen Zhu tried to approach him. But the deer also shook its head and flew away.

His fellow students had already returned to college with each carrying a dazzling mount, which automatically made Bao Yu's expectations of Shen Zhu sky-high.

Lim Hua obtained a Sky Dragon that matched the water element he had. The Heavenly Dragon was a transparent light blue like the seawater that rose up during the tsunami.

Lian Ze who had wind element obtained the Dragon Eagle. A giant eagle with a head shape similar to a dragon head.

Zhen Juan obtained a silver-winged wolf that matched the metal element he had. It was called the Sword Wolf because of its sword-like wings.

Zhang Junda with wood element got T-rex Axe Destroyer. Winged dinosaurs with hard bark such as Quebracho wood or better known as the Axe Destroyer Tree.

Tan Liu with the earth element gets the King of Salamander, a two-headed giant salamander, while his younger brother, Tan Nuo, who also has the land element gets the Desert Lion of Emperors, a silver-bodied golden-headed giant lion.

Tiao with the ice element gets the Prince's Pole Deer. Silver horned white deer.

Jialin obtained an Orange Phoenix that matched the fire element he possessed. A peacock is red with a beak, wings and an orange tail

Jiangwu who also had the fire element obtained the Horses of Hell. A hairy horse with tongues of fire.

What kind of monster comrade would he possibly get? Bao Yu wondered in her heart. Why so long?

But the cynical comments of the elders then made Bao Yu decide to return to the gate of the Blood Covenant Land as soon as possible.

"Sending a rancid boy who hasn't even turned twenty years old to find a mount, really dreaming in broad daylight!"

With a mixture of annoyance and anxiety, Bao Yu finally darted flying into the Blood Covenant Land Gate with his mount.

As soon as he landed, the gatekeeper's holy elder greeted him with a scornful look, "Back sooner?" his words are ironic.

Meanwhile inside the forest, Shen Zhu's patience began to thin. The cold and savage side of her was beginning to show. His face changed rapidly. The figure of his innocent youth who was full of spirit instantly vanished. "Nobody coming near?" he growled while pulling out a sword and fluttering it to the side.

All the monsters gasped and hid.

"All right!" his challenge. "We'll see how far you can run from me?"

"No need for emotion!" A voice atop one of the hills across the river caught Shen Zhu's attention.

A bearded human-headed lion with a serpent-like tail perched across the river. "They just don't want to offend you" he said. His voice sounded calm and paternal. "At the same time they are too young!"
