A SLAAASSSH!

A SLAAASSSH!

A number of daggers shot out from the darkness towards the ninjas sent by the Knight Alliance.

"There's an ambush!" Their leader told in a whisper, then instructed each other in sign language.

The shadow guard from the Liu clan slipped into the darkest place without leaving a sound as he threw out a number of more daggers.

Two spies fell and fell.

"Siccups!" Their leaders realized. Then rushed to leave the border of the territory of the Bao Sect and the Majusi Sect by teleportation.

But the Liu clan's shadow bodyguards were already faster at blocking him with the same technique, then throwing four daggers at the four deadliest spots on the spy leader's body.

The spy leader with the plates of the Knight Alliance was killed instantly in silence.

That shadow guard from the Liu clan snatched the Knight Alliance plate from the division commander's belt and hung it on his own belt.

Two ninjas darted out of the forest and landed behind him. "Captain—" whispered they hesitated.

The Liu clan shadow guard froze for a moment, then turned his head slowly.

The two ninjas from the Knight Alliance's spy division were simultaneously on guard.

The shadow guard took no chances, dropped a smoke bomb, threw out a number of daggers and finished them off. And then it disappeared into the darkness and the smoke.

At the same time, Jyang Ryu had just arrived at the border, along with the holy elders and several other experts from the various sects.

The shadow guard lowered his face cover and mingled in the crowd to keep an eye on the situation.

The projection of Lord Petaka lowered the flute from his lips as the sect higher-ups arrived, then turned their heads back and evaporated into a puff of smoke.

Shen Zhu pulled up his body and drew out his sword. Then stand facing everyone.

The crowd who were crowding the valley looked up at Shen Zhu who was perched on the top of one of the stone hills that constricted the village. Everyone was muttering low like an agitated bee. Their gazes were glued to the face hidden under the hood of the dark-colored robe curiously.

Shen Zhu remained unmoved. The strands of hair and the edges of his robe were whistling in the wind which still sounded like a flute.

Shortly after, Bao Yu emerged from behind the hill that became the boundary of the region.

Jyang Yue burst into the crowd in a panic, distracting everyone.

"Tianjin!" jyang Yue's screams pitched anxiously. "Where is my son? Has anyone seen my son?"

"I'm fine!" sahut Tianjin from in front of the crowd.

All eyes turned towards the boy.

"Thank God you're okay!" Jyang Yue greeted him and hugged him.

"I've just been warming up" Tianjin grumbled.

"This brat is so obsessed with fighting," Jyang Yue said to everyone.

Some praised Tianjin and said the boy had saved them, attracting more people.

Jyang Yue chuckled uneasily and nodded at everyone.

Jyang Ryu glanced at his brother with squinted eyes.

Jyang Yue sent out a gesture through the glint of his eyes.

All eyes simultaneously turned on them, as well as the elders from the various sects.

When everyone turned back to the top of the hill, Shen Zhu's figure had already disappeared. So did Xiao Mao, missing without a trace within the crowd.

Moments later, a group of officers from the Knight Alliance came as misfortune heroes.

"I apologize for our delay!" The leader of the knight army saluted the soldiers to Bao Yu and Jyang Ryu.

"We're late too!" tukas Bao Yu while bowing giving her soja greetings, followed by Jyang Ryu beside her.

The holy elders from various streams joined them and the village chief.

The people swarmed over them while whispering.

"We did not expect the arrival of so many large guests in our small village, sorry for the unworthy welcome!" The village chief bowed to them giving soja greetings, then led everyone to the Village Hall.

Several knights combed through the entire place and interrogated everyone while the leader of their troops chatted with the elders and the village chief.

The two knights inspected the hilltop where Shen Zhu was performing the grand formation, then found the Knight Alliance plate lying just about as if it had been accidentally dropped.

The two knights exchanged glances with frowns, likely handing their findings to their leader.

Bao Yu exchanged glances with Jyang Ryu silently as the knight handed his finding plate to their leader while whispering.

That brat has not changed, Inner Bao Yu. You Troublemaker!

Meanwhile outside the village, a horse-drawn carriage drove slowly down a pebbled road towards the small town at the foot of the Majusi mountain.

"Where are you going?" asked the coachman who was none other than the shadow bodyguard of the Liu clan. The man had already changed his clothes to the typical suit that the carriage coachman of the nobles wore.

"Wherever I can meet the Emperor," replied the passenger inside.

Shen Zhu sat leaning back inside the carriage as he rubbed the head of the black-haired little cat inside his lap. He had also changed his clothes with the dazzling silk hanfu that nobles used to wear. All that they got from Xie Ma without the knowledge of all the people of the Majusi Sect.

"Alright, then we'll find lodging in the next town to devise a plan" the bodyguard said. "A few more days the Knight Trials reopen. The emperor won't miss it!"

"Register the five young men I brought to Liu Sect, two level one assassins, one level two assassin and one level three assassin, then add Xiao Mao!" shen Zhu's Order.

"Xiao Mao's?" The bodyguard frowned, then looked back through the tail of his eyes. "I mean Mr... Little cat?"

"Yes, my cat!" shen Zhu replied without a burden.

"What?" The bodyguard blinked and stammered. "Master is kidding, right?"

"Why?" The curtain of the carriage suddenly unfolded, a tiny face appeared and glared at the guard. "You doubt my abilities?"

The guard gasped and shouted. "Since when did you—"

"Just do it!" Xiao Mao yelled at the bodyguard's temple while grumbling.

"Ba--good, fine!" The bodyguard replied stammeringly. In his heart he wondered when his master was smuggling a girl. More than that, Xiao Mao's beauty made him much more nervous.

Shen Zhu smiled faintly as he crossed paths.

Xiao Mao sat beside him and grabbed the young man's arm and struggled spoiled.

"I told you to keep your face when you're a girl!" Shen Zhu pushed Xiao Mao's temple with his fingertips to distance the girl's face.

"Then I'm back to being a cat!" gerutu Xiao Mao pitched sulking.

Their shadow guards listened with furrowed foreheads. Really cats? he still doesn't believe it.
