~Happy Reading~
On the other hand; Carren had woken up from his afternoon break in better shape. He saw at a glance there were many messages in his school WA group. There was his name also called, but he ignored it.
She made her bed and went down to look for her mother, because she felt better. So that her mother would not worry about her. Before stepping out of the room, his phone rang. When he saw who was calling, he accepted.
📱"Allooo, Carren. How are you?" Say hello to Parry, as Carren responds to his call.
📱"Allooo, Parry. Good news, thank you. How are you doing too?" Carren asked back.
📱"My news, well too. Last time I saw the info in the group, you did not take the entrance exam in Wangsa. Why don't you come along? Why not tell me if I want to take the entrance exam there? I can be with you." Tanya Parry.
He trusted what Ayunna said about Carren, after reading the conversation in the WA group. So he immediately contacted Carren to confirm it.
📱"Oooh... There was an accident, so I couldn't take the exam. Actually, I'd like to surprise you when you meet there. But, never mind... That one doesn't need to be discussed." Carren.
📱"Then where do you want to go to college?" Ask Parry again.
📱"Not yet, Parry. If you're sure, I'll tell you. Parry, I want to help you first, yeah, sorry." Carren said, avoiding further conversations about college issues. Because his heart was still disappointed and sad.
📱"Ok, I'll have some news, yeah." Parry said, ending their conversation. She knew something was going on with Carren because he was avoiding talking to her about college.
After she finished talking to Parry, Carren noticed the conversation in her school WA group. It was like Parry said. They were wondering, why did he not take the entrance exam in the House. It was a rare opportunity that the underprivileged could obtain.
Carren does not answer questions from his friends, because it will only make more sad. And there is no benefit to talk about either. With just a thought, tears welled up in his eyes.
He does not regret being born into a poor family. He was aware of the differences in his family's condition with some of his peers since his father died.
When he graduated from Elementary School, Carren began to understand the condition of his family. Because seeing Mama sewed until late at night and could not finance her to take courses like her friends.
She had to study alone at home, or from books lent by neighbors whose children had already graduated Elementary. He was also often helped by friends in the Church to study together in their homes.
Carren studied diligently and diligently to please her Mama who had worked hard for their lives. Because sometimes she's asleep, her mom's still sewing.
He grew up and thought above children his age. Because her friends were playing around or taking walks with her parents, she studied or helped her Mom at home.
His friends take various courses or bring private teachers to their homes, Carren self-taught at home. Because he knew his mother wouldn't be able to pay all the course fees. Sometimes her mother taught her.
So since Junior High, he did not respond to friends calling him a nerd or saying it with insulting words. He accepted it, because that was his condition.
He only focuses on learning and learning to get good achievements in class or school. To keep him receiving scholarships from his school.
He was able to attend a good Junior High School and High School, because of his achievements so that he got a scholarship at the school. Therefore, when he graduated SMU and was given the opportunity to study through the student pathway, he was very happy. He who had not imagined being able to go to college, so excited. Because there was hope he could go to college without bothering his mother.
He prepared himself as best he could, who knew he could be accepted and attend a good University. It has been thought of with a happy heart, when told to take the entrance exam in the House through the scholarship path.
He believes the opportunity exists, if he tries diligently, because he is willing to go through it himself. He can attend Junior High School and High School like Wangsa.
He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly to calm his heart. He wiped away his nearly dripping tears and placed his phone on the bed. Then he went out of the room looking for his mother.
Tenyata Mama is sewing in a room that has been a workspace or a place to sew. Previously, the room was a room that was intended for guests or families who came. But since his father died in an accident at the factory where he worked, the room was used by his mother as a place to sew.
Her mother received stitches to live their daily lives. Because his Papa, who worked in a steel mill, did not leave much money for them.
Her father had died nearly eight years ago, when Carren was nine. Their life, however, became worse after their father died.
Therefore, his mother took a sewing course and began receiving stitches seven years ago to be able to meet the needs of both of them.
Miss Nancy and Carren are grateful, they have their own home, even though it is simple. So they do not have to move around because they follow the house that must be contracted.
He kept his grief and approached his mother. "Mom more work?" Carren asked, when he saw his mother sewing.
"Yes, pretty. This is Mama preparing Aunt Florens' request. We're going to decorate the Church for the wedding." Said Ms. Carren, while showing many white tiles and satin that she was sewing.
"Is it to be put on chairs, Ma?" Carren asked, wondering. Because often see decorations during weddings in the Church.
"Yeah, the new H day will be added with flowers. Now Mama prepare the tile, slayer and ribbon, later with Aunt Florens put up the flowers." Miss Nancy, explain.
"Can Arra help you shape the tile and the satin into a ribbon?" Carren asked, because he had to look for busyness. A little more could help her Mom in the meantime.
"Have you felt better?" Ask Nancy, looking at her. Sadness was still evident in his daughter's eyes.
"Already, Ma. Only Arra has not dared to take off these socks and sandals." Carren said, pointing to his feet.
"Yeah, don't let go. Let it be so, so that your body temperature can quickly return to normal. If you want to help Mama, grab a table chair and sit here to take a look. After finishing this, Mama will teach you how to make ribbons from tiles and satin." Said Miss Nancy, pointing at the one she was sewing.
"Good, Ma..." Carren said, then out to take a dining table chair to sit in the sewing room of his mother. He looked at what his mother had done and studied it one by one. Miss Nancy was thrilled to see everything her daughter was doing.
"Arra, do not be disappointed or sad again for something that has happened and cannot be changed by you. If God pleases, He will make the fig tree fruitful even if it is not the season for fruit. So take care of your heart and believe it, never complain." Said Miss Nancy, stroking her daughter's head fondly.
