The next day, Carren is awakened by the sound of a phone ringtone that he forgot to disilent. Actually she wanted to wake up after working hard a few days to prepare and decorate with her Mom.
But having already woken up to the sound of her phone ringtone, she opened her eyes slowly to see who was contacting her early in the morning. When she saw the name on her phone screen, Carren immediately responded.
📱"Alloo, Parry. Met morning." Sapa Carren, with a hoarse voice just woke up.
📱"Alloo, Carren. Morning MET. Sorry, I woke you up this early." Parry said, feeling bad.
📱"Ngga papa. It's awake. How's it?" Carren asked, because she was surprised Parry called her early in the morning. They still have WAs or calls if Carren's not busy. All this was done at normal times, not as it is now.
📱"Gue wants infoin, Brother Naina died and today will be cremated. Sorry just told you now, because we were surprised and very busy." Parry replied, leaving Carren shocked. He immediately got up and sat down, his consciousness gathering up instantly.
📱"Goddessa. Naina's sister is sick, Parry?" Carren asked, with a stifled voice as it was so shock upon hearing what Parry said. He held his chest with round eyes. He was very affectionate and respectful towards that kind and warm Brother Parry. Which always calms him when groggy when invited by Parry to his birthday.
Parry's brother always invites him to talk to avoid him from the pranks of his friends. Sometimes he helps her prepare for Parry's birthday surprise. Because Naina loves her little brother, Parry.
📱"Sir Naina had an accident in Jagorawi. Would you like to come see her one last time? We're at Carlo's Grief House." Parry said in a sad voice. Carren knew Parry loved his sister very much. Because they are only two brothers and the distance is almost six years old.
📱Iya, Parry. I'm sorry I just found out, because I haven't seen the info in the group lately. I'll be walking there soon. I'll let you know when I get there." Carren said, ending their conversation immediately.
Carren wakes up, takes a shower and seeks out his mother for permission. "Thank God, my mom is home. Arra wants to go to the funeral home, Ma. Naina's sister, Parry's brother, crashes and dies. Today will be cremated." Carren said, when he saw his mother enter the house, shopping from the vegetable maker.
"Ooh... Tell me, Mama is sorry. Let's change your clothes with the ones you took, and have some hot tea first just to the grieving place. So that Arra doesn't trouble Parry." Said Miss Nancy, then went into the room to pick up a change of clothes for Carren.
Carren makes hot tea for himself and his mother. Then Mama gave me a pretty good white bone blouse to wear Carren.
Miss Nancy knows about Parry's family environment, as Parry has been friends with Carren since she was a junior high. He did not want his daughter to shame the Parry family if she was in their midst.
"Good, Ma. Thanks." Thanks." Said Carren, then went back to the room to replace his boss with a blouse given by Mama. Three-quarter sleeve blouse, there is embroidery on the arm and chest. It fits perfectly and fits into his body.
Carren took the train, because there was something he wanted and planned. He was grateful, had a little money from the decor, so he was free to plan something.
When getting off the car, Carren stopped by a fresh flower shop to buy white roses and put them together. He wanted to give her a flower that his sister Parry liked so much as a sign of affection and respect for him. Then he took a taxi to Carlo Funeral Home.
Parry had been waiting for him outside the room, because Carren had sent him a message. She was grateful, Parry came out to pick her up. Because the place is full of mourners.
"My mom and I are so sorry, Parry." Carren said, hugging Parry with tears. He placed the flower arrangement he was carrying next to a photo of Naina at the foot of the crate and greeted Parry's parents who were crying bitterly.
Parry invites Carren to sit next to him, among his family. Parry did not notice the many eyes that were looking at him, while sitting side by side with Carren.
"Parry, why cremation so fast." Carren asked, after sitting next to him with tears in his eyes.
"Because Kak Naina's body was quite damaged, the time of the accident. So Mami asked to be cremated today." Answer Parry.
"A few months ago, Naina returned to Indonesia and worked with Papi. Kemaren is going to Bandung for office to replace Papi." Parry said, explaining. Carren could only nod, as Parry told him.
"I'm so sorry not to know, Brother Naina was already here and had no time to meet her. Does Naina remember me?" Carren asked with eyes.
"Sir Naina still remembers you, and once asked me to invite you. But I said patiently a little more, you'll come on my birthday. Because I want to make a surprise for you. I didn't know it was gonna happen like this." Parry said sadly and regretfully. What was conveyed made his eyes glaze over remembering his brother.
"It turns out that Naina's sister made a surprise for me like this." Said Carren, crying bitterly. Parry stroked his back, as Carren kept his head down. Seeing Carren continue to cry, Mama Parry approached.
"Parry, who is this? Is she your boyfriend?" Mami Parry's whisper was slow, seeing Carren who was very sad. He kept his head down and his nose turned red and his face was covered in tears.
"No, Mam. She's my friend and has also been considered a sister by Sister Naina. Naina's sister loves her very much and vice versa." Whisper Parry slowly, explaining. Because her mom had never met Carren.
Every time Carren comes to Parry's house, he meets only Naina and Parry. Both of his parents are abroad. Since Naina went to college outside the UK, Carren never came back to Parry's house.
Since Naina is gone, Parry celebrates her birthday at a restaurant or cafe. Because who likes to prepare birthday events at home is her brother, Naina. So Carren just came to the restaurant or to the cafe where Parry made his show.
"Ooh, give him a drink. Mami didn't expect, someone close to your sister is here." Whisper Mami Parry, slow down. Then sat down next to her husband and told her about Carren to her husband who kept watching Carren as he entered with Parry.
"Carren, let's have a drink first, because we'll soon be worshipping. You want to come to the cremation?" Ask Parry.
"Later to drink, I've been drinking from home. Can I also go to the cremation?" Ask Carren, slowly.
"Can. I'll be in my car today with the driver. Because I haven't brought my own car after what Naina's been through." Parry said, and Carren nodded in understanding.
.***.
On the other side; there were four pairs of eyes watching with a gasp of Carren's presence in the grieving place. "Ayunna, isn't that the village lady?" Liana asked who was watching Carren from the start of his arrival. Because Carren's appearance changed a little.
She is beautiful, but looks more mature. His appearance was also no longer like the village girl they meant. Thick curly hair and jet black, tied back just like that. But the little strands of hair that fell down next to her face made her look even more attractive and very beautiful.
Especially he was now more confident and not groggy among the many people he did not know. The change made Ayunna and Liana who had known him before were slightly stunned.
"Yes, right. It turns out he's still in contact with the fish. Does he know his sister Fish?" Ask Ayunna, astonished. Because seeing the sadness that Carren addressed, not just to grieve with Parry.
"Yes, yeah. Looks like he knows the Fish family." Liana said, because Carren was sitting among the Parry family, while they were sitting in the mourners' quarters. And the mourners, most of Parry's parents' business associates. To be sure, all of them were from the sultan.
Carren who was down again was sad not to pay attention to everything that was happening around him. Because she really felt like she lost Naina the way Parry felt.
"Goddessa... Isn't that Recky?" Liana asked, looking at Recky who had just entered the mourning scene with her parents.
