The Antagonist's Full Moon

The Antagonist's Full Moon
31. Cowardly

There were many black particles flying through the air, surrounding Liv and Dean's bodies. When measured, Dean and Liv seemed to be in the middle of a ball of black fog three meters in diameter. The elf girl raised her hand in front of her face. His dark skin continued to emit dark fog particles.

Not far from them, there was a rabbit-shaped animal fanged, running over. As soon as it entered the air sphere filled with black particles, the rabbit instantly bounced, as if there was a wall before it.

"This mist .. does it protect me?" ask Liv doesn't believe it. All this time, he hated that black fog. Though, many times the fog had protected him from the physical attacks he had received.

Dean's doing an experiment. He deliberately moved away from where Liv was standing, until she came out of the fog sphere. Apparently the fog was only porous in Liv alone and three meters in diameter around him. The fog did not follow where Dean stepped.

"What are you doing? It will be attacked by vicious animals again!"

"Just want a test. I can't go all the way from you" Dean said, drawing conclusions. "You're the road ahead of me."

The two of them again began the journey, this time Liv took the lead. However, after five minutes, the girl's steps began to slow down. Meanwhile, behind him, Dean managed to catch up many times, although in the middle he had a short drink and checked for wounds that were starting to dry up.

"We can arrive tomorrow morning if this continues!" Dean started protesting. Liv did not answer. He only had a sour face hearing it.

Dean sighed. Then, he took the girl's bag and draped it around her neck, along with her cloth bag. Dean extended his right hand to Liv.

"Come, hurry!"

"Nrank ...?"

"Yes!"

"But, my path will not be faster even if you're hooked ... ."

Dean starts to rouse, then grabs Liv's hand and takes her. "At least you won't be late. I won't even get out of this fog because I can keep you walking."

The two of them joined hands through the trees. Every now and then, Dean and Liv wash their faces in the creek they find. As long as they walked close together, not a single ferocious animal attacked.

"I don't memorize the exact location, but after this we'll find a suspension bridge. The city of Tranum is opposite it" Dean said, pointing far ahead of the road they were taking.

"What is the suspension bridge?" asked Liv, who had never once seen a suspension bridge in her entire life.

"Just like a bridge in the capital. Only he was not supported by wood, but a long rope that hung."

"Why should you hang?"

"Because underneath it is a ravine."

"Riff ...?"

"Yes, and very deep. If it falls, it'll die."

Liv's steps stopped. Face pale. The palm of his hand that Dean was holding was sweating. The man also stopped.

Dean sighed again. Just this time, Dean's emotions were tested in such a way and had to be patient a lot. He could not impose his arrogance and temperament on Liv.

"There's me. Just relax."

The suspension bridge in question has been seen. True Dean said, underneath there is a gorge tens of meters deep. There was a river that flowed very profusely below, between the two cliffs of the gorge. Both of Liv's legs trembled as soon as she saw the ravine. He did not dare to step even a little, as Dean had already taken him to the edge of the bridge.

"A-a-what is there no other way ...?" ask Liv.

Dean shakes. "This is all."

"Perhaps a-ada--"

"Nothing! I wrote about this forest and its contents. There ain't! Go, hurry!"

Dean pulls Liv's hand rough, making the girl forced to step over with a bell and almost fall on the bridge deck. When almost fell that, Liv looked to the sidelines of the bridge deck, how high the position of the river below.

At that instant, Liv cried out hysterically. Both of his hands clasped Dean's right arm firmly, and then slapped his face there, terrified.

Dean patted the jidat. He looked towards the sky. The sun has passed over from above the head. It'll be afternoon soon. "Yes, just close your eyes. I'll lead you" Dean said.

"But you're not gonna push me down, are you ...?"

"What am I doing, you idiot! I, right, need you to go to the temple!"

"Oh, yes ... ."

Dean's arm was gripped by Liv so tightly that the man grimaced, but he held her back. Dean glanced at Liv, finding the girl closing her eyes tightly.

Dean laughed amusedly. The man asked Liv to open her eyes again as soon as they were across the street. Slowly, Liv saw things under her feet. He stepped on the ground again.

"Thank you .. " said Liv.

Dean glanced at Liv for a moment, before taking her back to walk. As he stepped up, Dean told him, "You're the same as Delia."

"Your sister?" ask Liv.

Dean nodded. "She's scared just like you were, when she had to cross the suspension bridge while traveling."

"But it was, wasn't it, it was scary! Have you never been afraid of anything?!"

"Earlier. I used to be a coward." Dean glared, while carefully choosing the ground to stand on.

Liv frowned and asked, "Coward? You??"

Dean nodded. "When I was a kid, I was afraid of the dark. I'm afraid I have to go to the bathroom alone at night. I also fear the narrow space and the height. I was also afraid of meeting animals. But, all that changed, a few months before Delia was born."

"What's going on?" ask Liv.

"Mother advised. He said, I will miss a lot of interesting things if always filled with fear. I could miss a lot of opportunities, too. He said, if I'm afraid of something, I have to find out a lot about it. Sometimes, we're afraid because we don't know him" Dean said.

"But ... If you stay scared too, how?" liv asked, she bit her lip.

"In that case, it's time for you to ask a friend for help!"

Dean looked up and smiled widely. "Come, we're speeding up. It's getting late."

The sun was about to sink, but its rays were covered by cloudy clouds. Luckily, Dean and Liv make it to the edge of the Nitville Forest that leads to the town of Tranum, before it rains. Just as when he entered, Dean lifted the sacred rope of the barrier high so that Liv could get out. Not to forget, Liv dampened the black fog into the body, no longer out like before.

"Looks, we should set up a tent around here instead. Do we have a lot of water?" ask Dean.

Liv checked the contents of the bag and replied, "There are about three big bottles in my bag. I filled it up in the river."

"alright. It should be enough until we meet the river again" Dean said. He is grateful to write the river water is always clear in the story, so it is safe to drink without having to be cooked.

Dean took out a tent cloth and a long rope from his bag, then looked for branches and twigs suitable for support. Unlike modern tents on earth, in this world tents are only made of cloth held by branches and ropes, such as making emergency tents.

His left hand was unable to move much. Dean asks Liv to look for leaves and hay a lot. "Ahead there seems to be a community field. Take the straw from there."

"Stole ...?" Liv asked doubtfully.

Dean clucking. "I'm your creator, I'll get you some straw, right away!"

"Yes, yes!" Liv clucked in annoyance. While Liv was away, Dean tied the rope back to a nearby tree trunk to support the center of the tent cloth. The man was shocked when he saw his hand as it stretched out to pick up the rope.

Dean shook his hand and rubbed his eyes, so that he could be sure of what he had seen. His back looked transparent, like it was translucent.
