The Antagonist's Full Moon

The Antagonist's Full Moon
14. Bean Sauce

"Tu-wait a minute! From another world? So, there's a world besides here?" Frode was still stunned in disbelief.

Dean just nodded. He did not explain further that the world they were incising at this time was his essay.

Not yet the time for this Old Man to know, Inner Dean.

"I don't understand how I got here. What is clear is that I am confident that I can go home through the portal of the universe in the Holy Temple" Dean said.

Although still clueless, Frode tried not to overload Dean with questions. "Well, what can I do for you?"

"I will raise funds for my trip, by selling. But I can't go anywhere as a human being. Well, your job, sir, is to sell my merchandise at the market. You're a former businessman, shouldn't be hard, should you?"

"Hmm, okay. Doesn't matter. That's not too difficult. But, what are you going to sell, son?" ask Frode again.

Dean grins. "Litforest's natural results!"

"You mean, fruits?" Frode frowned.

"Yes, but a little different! But it's still later. What matters now is that we restore your health first!"

Next, Dean began to execute the plan. He plucked the fruits in Litforest, while Frode cleared himself to be fit to be a trader in the market, at Dean's orders.

"Wake this fruit!" Dean handed him a square orange. "The aroma is suitable for a substitute for fragrant oil."

"What fruit is this, son?"

"I forgot his name. Clearly, this was created as a fragrant fruit. Just put it on, don't ask too many questions!" sahut Dean's fierce.

Frode was still confused by the word 'I created' that the young man before him said. However, he was reluctant to ask more details. He complied and began bathing in the river of the Litforest forest using the fruit. The smell really smells like Dean said.

Over the course of three days, Dean prepared many fruits to eat and sell. Frode was amazed to see the man bring forth fruit that had not yet entered his season to grow.

"Where did you get all this, son??"

"Later I'll tell you, when you're strong enough to climb on your own. Now, listen to me. This is what you have to do."

Dean asked Frode to sell his unseasoned fruits at double the price on the market. This was done for three consecutive days.

Then, the sale results are bought baskets, scissors, large plates and small bowls, knives, simple cooking utensils, as well as some cooking ingredients such as peanuts, sugar and others.

"If anyone asks where the fruits that are not in season come from, just answer that there are merchants from the kingdom next door who sell them to you!" exclaim Dean.

"Oh, okay. Then, what about this cooking ingredient?"

"Finally you ask that!" Dean exclaimed happily. "I'll show you a spice recipe from my world, it's called peanut sauce!"

Dean asks Frode to build a bonfire. Frode's health had improved, so he could cast fire magic on the prepared firewood.

Dean started frying the peanuts with the red chili and garlic Frode had bought, while the old elf man shaved off the wild-growing whiskers and beard on his face. After shaving, apparently Frode's age is not too old. It was just appearance that made him that way.

After frying, Dean mashed the fried beans after adding water and sugar, then fried them back. Then he asked Frode to taste it.

"Oh, this is delicious! It tastes sweet with a little spicy hang biting tongue!" said the old man. Meanwhile, Dean himself was not too impressed with the peanut sauce made.

Not very good, because many ingredients are not in this world. But, if Mr. Frode says it's good, then it could be sold.

Then, Dean exemplifies Frode to cut the Litforest fruits into cubes of one bite, then stabbed using a lid and covered in peanut sauce. Again, Dean asked Frode for a taste.

"It feels fresh and delicious combined with this peanut sauce!" the old elf's comment.

Actually this is a pricked fruit. But, this peanut sauce tastes far from what is commonly used for rujak. But enough for this world! inner Dean.

"If in the market it may not be. But, I have an old friend who opens a shop. I'll ask him if he wants to put this food to sell as one of his menus" Frode said, thinking.

"You sure he wants to help?" ask Dean again.

Frode smiled as he said. "For a long time he offered me money to escape poverty. But, I'm too prestigious to accept. I don't want to be pitied, then stay away from her to stay in this Litavenue. Now, I have something to sell. He'll help!"

"good. If he can help, I'll make another meal. But, this is in desperate need of your magic power." Dean thought for a moment, looking at the Litforest forest. In this part of the interior is never passed by the citizens. He and Frode can live quietly and pick fruit as they please here.

"There's other cooking?"

Dean nodded. "Name sate. We'll hunt squirrels and rabbits using your magic."

Two months later.

"Frode! Can you add to your unique food stock? I always run out in a few hours, and my customers start nagging!"

Frode had just arrived at his friend Elrick's shop, when he was greeted by a request for stock additions. This is the umpteenth time, Elrick asked like that.

Shoppers praised Dean's famous delicious steak and satay. Every morning Frode left his wares in the shop of Elrick, in the form of fruits that had been served in a prick, as well as meat that had been burned. The bean seasoning itself is served in three large glass jars. When there is an order, Elrick will serve everything on a plate according to Frode's direction.

"Sorry, it can't be added. Because that makes only two people at the moment" Frode refused. This was the umpteenth time, he had to refuse his friend's request.

"Can't I see your friend? You said he had this peanut sauce idea, right? I'm willing to hire employees to help him!" elrick. However, again rejected by Frode.

"sorry. I've already told you that. But, he refused. He, err .. a very shy person."

Frode understood the reason Dean didn't want to see anyone. No one should know that the originator of the peanut sauce recipe is a human being.

"Huh! Too bad!" lamented Elrick. "By the way, where did you meet your friend? It seems, your life is improving after being with her!"

"You're right!" said Frode. A smile rose on his face, a sigh. "Thanks, I was able to stay properly again, despite still renting a room in the inn."

"I used to offer you help, but you refused!" cynical Elrick. "Why do you accept a stranger's offer now?"

"Because he needs my services."

Frode refused to accept Elrick's help because it was only one-sided, so Frode felt sorry. While with Dean, there is reciprocity that must be done, like a transaction.

As long as he knew Dean, the man had never pityed Frode's life or been kind to him. Precisely every day, Frode is required to work until late at night, until lack of sleep. In fact, Frode never worked that way while still having a job.

"To get rich quick and be able to stay decent!" said Dean.

Now, the two of them no longer lived in the streets or forest caves. Dean and Frode rented a two-bed room in a mid-district inn.

Frode's health had fully recovered. The money from the sale was bought drugs, clothes, and decent food. No more Frode dressed in rags like he used to be. His face is now as young as back.

Dean had also bought clothes in the form of long coats as worn by the elves in the world in general. Although everywhere must remain veiled, at least with these clothes he is no longer too suspicious like when wearing a human T-shirt.

"My old life has returned, even though my wife and children have left. But, it's okay. This is a good start. It's all thanks to Dean!" frode said enthusiastically.

"Oh, so his name is Dean?" ask Elrick. "A strange name, yes."

Frode smiled. Dean is not a proper name for elves. However, to Frode, Dean was like a messenger of God who came to help him with all the arrogance he had.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. There was a friend of mine who happened to taste the rujak and the satemu. He's a famous merchant from Hartvig City, asking that you can meet him. Are you ready?" ask Elrick.

Frode seemed to think for a moment, before replying, "Hmm, I'll discuss with Dean first."
