The Antagonist's Full Moon

The Antagonist's Full Moon
13. Figurant

"I was destined to have nothing. I was tricked by a friend, I was broke and I was sick with stress. Eventually, my wife and children left me, and I moved to this Litavenue."

Frode looked up, remembering his past. Dean gulped listening to his new friend's life story.

"God did not love me from the beginning, hahaha ..." Frode laughed, sounding sad.

I wrote the story of the Litavenue residents like that, Dean said in his heart.

Just a few paragraphs, Dean told about the residents of Litavenue as a complement, that in the Kingdom of Legolas there is also a small folk settlement. There is nothing in the scheme of the novel that Dean makes a resolution of the poverty of the citizens.

Even the Litavenue resident figures are not named at all, because they are intended to be read only as late as possible. Now Dean did not expect, that what he wrote could really have an impact on the life of a real person like this.

How else. I didn't know this would be the case. All this time I was just writing according to the main plot. The rest are minor conflicts that I don't think should be explained in detail.

Figuran remains a figurehead, his job is to complete the story of the main character!

Again, Dean defended himself inwardly. However, it was undeniable as well, stung with guilt when hearing the old man's story. Dean stood up, looking at the fruits in front of Frode only a quarter of the original number.

"I'll get it again. Wait here!" exclaim Dean.

"But I'm full .. hey!" Regardless of Frode's call, Dean returned to the forest.

Litforest was written by Dean as a city forest that had many fruitful trees, that was all. The residents do not know that there are many special trees in this forest, because it is quite complicated for them to find.

Alternately, the trees continue to bear fruit following the season. There are also types of trees whose fruit can be picked throughout the year. There are even types of trees that can be eaten.

Litforest is actually a forest of limitless fruitful trees. Of course, Dean knew all the trees because he was the author of the world.

This unique advantage of Litforest is deliberately provided by Dean, so that Haldir as the main character can use it for the resolution of the plague and famine that struck in the Kingdom of Legolas later, around Chapter 40. Currently, there is no hunger. The residents, including Haldir himself, no one knows the existence of this special tree.

I will use the advantages of Litforest to meet my needs while here. Anyway, I have to survive!

Deftly, Dean searched for the trees in question. The trick is if the trunk of the tree is exposed to splashes of wet cloth, then a green tinge will appear on the bark of the trunk. When the green tinge is visible, then a few seconds later will appear suddenly additional fruits, replacing those that have been picked, in less than two minutes.

That's why Dean mentioned that Litforest is a forest of limitless fruit trees.

Dean performed the wet splash trick using a hood cloth that he wet in a nearby river. When it worked, Dean plucked all the fruit that appeared there. After two dozen, the man returned to where Frode was waiting.

"Eat again, until you are really strong and healthy. I will provide these fruits!" exclaim Dean. Frode gawked in disbelief.

"In exchange, you fulfilled a promise to return the favor to me."

"What do you want, son?" ask Frode curiously.

Dean glanced for a moment at the cloth mat for Frode to sleep on. He shuddered in disgust and asked, "Do you have a place to stay?"

Dean twisted his brain after hearing the answer. To go to the Holy Temple, you have to make very careful preparations. As soon as I met Liv Themaris, I should have had enough supplies to travel. That means, I need money!

But Dean knew it wasn't easy. Money cannot be obtained in short. While looking for money, he must also need a place to stay. He was hoping to stay with an elf in Litavenue. However, who would accept a suspicious-looking person like him.

The only hope is Frode. However, that man was as destitute as Dean at the moment. Even so, Frode was an elf. He has more access to all places than human Dean.

"I want you to work for me" Dean said in the end. "But we can't talk here. Come with me to Litforest."

***

What do you really want this young man? Frode wondered in his heart. Tightly, he followed the young man's footsteps who helped him out of the Litavenue settlement, into the forest in the city not far from there.

Frode himself had several times gone to this forest to take his natural results even though not much. He can't climb without magic. So, all this time Frode only relied on fruits that fell to the ground.

Dean continued to take Frode across the Litforest trees into the interior. Because now that Dean knew it was his world, he didn't have to be afraid of getting lost again like when he first came. Dean knew which way he was going. Every now and then, the man slowed down the path to wait for old Frode to catch up with him.

"Street not for long, sir! Night hunt!" hardik Dean's. Frode immediately tried to speed up the pace as he could, "I'm sorry, please be patient ... ."

The place Dean was headed to was a cave. In one of the chapters of his novel, Haldir once stopped in this cave for a moment, when his legs sprained while trying to pluck fruit.

Frode was shocked when the cave apparition began to be seen. "I-this ...?"

"From now on, we live here. Until the money we have is enough for you to rent one of the flats," said Dean, as he ruffled his waist in front of the cave mouth.

"We?! You want to stay with me, son?" ask Frode.

Dean nodded. "I need your help. I'm going to travel a long way, but the funds aren't enough. I can't make my own money without your help. I'll give you some things to sell in the market."

"Of course I want to help you. But, why don't you do it yourself?"

Asked like that, Dean immediately invited Frode into the cave, towards a rather deep passageway. "Come."

When Dean felt that his body had been sufficiently hidden by the cave wall, Dean opened the headscarf that had covered his entire face except for his eyes, revealing his black hair color. Then, he revealed both round ears hiding behind the hair.

Both of Frode's eyes immediately widened to see Dean's true appearance. Many times, the old man rubbed his eyes, so as not to look wrong. The creature that should have been extinct was now standing firmly before him.

"You're a human??" show Frode can't believe it.

Dean looked at the old man fixedly, assuring him. "It's not just humans, I'm from another world. And I need your help to raise funds in order to go to the Lileathhof Sacred Temple."
