Two months ago.
"Hey, give way! The black one's going through!"
"Don't get close, we'll catch it!"
Laughter by the sons and daughters of the nobility dyed throughout Melian and Liv's journey to the park. Liv has repeatedly refused the invitation of the brother to play during the day, but Melian insists. She said Liv had to show that she was confident in her skin color.
"Don't feel inferior, or someone else will insult you even more."
So said Melian, who was finally approved with a heavy heart by Liv. But in reality, the insults still came. In fact, it became worse, because now the name Melian also became carried away.
"Melian, you are beautiful. Why did you bring your damned sister as a comparison?"
"Haha!"
Melian's beautiful appearance, white and high body is inversely proportional to Liv's condition. The girl lowered her head while looking at her hand held tightly by Melian. The contrast of their skin color is both clearly visible in the link of both hands.
"You guys are really shameless, huh? Insulting people to such an extent, do you deserve to be called honorable nobles!"
Melian's words were short, but stung sharply at those who insulted Liv. The kids were silent. In addition to the perfect face and body, Melian's reputation in Legolas Kingdom was also beyond doubt. Smart brain and charisma is extraordinary during the academy, making Melian so admired and respected by many parties. Parents want their sons to have at least half Melian's abilities.
However, the fate of Melian is not contagious to the sister. Liv covered both ears with her hands, hoping that all would pass quickly.
Insulting words were no longer heard, but a moment later a pebble was thrown, landing right on Liv's head. In addition to pebbles, fire magic attacks also grabbed Liv's body.
"Oh, God! Liv, are you okay?" ask Melian worried. Liv just kept quiet. The girl closed her eyes tightly. It wasn't the physical pain Liv felt, as her body had a blanket of black fog that was always ready to vent out, protecting her from any attacks. The pain that Liv feels tends to be mental, because her existence is always rejected by everyone around her.
The next second, another pebble toss came in a row. Both of Melian's eyes widened to see all that.
"Stop you!" shout Melian. A moment later, the girl was surprised to see that she was no longer by his side. "Liv!"
Liv ran home. Tears fell scattered soaking down the cheeks. The call of the elder brother no longer cared about him. Melian has been very kind to Liv all this time. His sister was also the one who took care and invited Liv to play since childhood. However, walking along with a flawless perfect figure like Melian would only make the insult to Liv even worse. The decision to walk in the park with her sister will never again be taken by Liv for life.
Liv entered the room on the top floor of the Themaris family tree mansion. The girl immediately closed the door tightly and climbed onto the bed. Liv reached into the bottom of the pillow and pulled out a book containing hundreds of sheets of blank linen paper given by Melian as a child.
"Name of the diary. If I can't be with you, you can pour out your heart through this book. You can even give it a name!" melian's message to Liv at the time.
Liv opened the book. The empty page is almost finished. There's a lot of things Liv wrote there. There's only one last page left. Liv's book named her "Mother". Though impossible to do, Liv hopes little that everything she writes in the book will come to her mother.
"Mother, I'm insulted again ... ." Liv wrote using a quill pen, crying. "I don't know how to. Why was I born to be insulted? What wrong? Why didn't I just leave? Why should I be Mom?"
The feather pen on his hand broke because it was pressed on the last word. His ink scratches became blurred as Liv's tears trickled down and seeped onto the paper. The same questions are written every day, and you will never get an answer.

Meanwhile, a servant named Alma set foot on the top floor of the Themaris mansion, carrying a broom and a wooden decker. Just a month ago, Alma was working as a servant in the noble family's house. His duties included cleaning the floors and windows of this mansion, especially the top floor. On this floor, most of the rooms contained warehouses for unused items, although there was one different room. The room was occupied by someone.
At first, Alma was so curious as to who occupied that narrow room. He never met the owner of the room. However, fellow servants reminded Alma never to deal with the room, the boss's message, Olrun Themaris. Alma also complies. He was afraid of losing his job if he became more curious.
Another waiter who always accompanied Alma to clean the top floor was Cathe. Alma, only Cathe worked a year earlier than he did. His friend always brought chatter material in the form of the latest gossip about Themaris Family and Legolas Kingdom. The name of the owner of the narrow room on the top floor was known to Alma from Cathe.
This afternoon, Cathe cleaned out a row of window glass with a carefree look on her face. It invites Alma to ask, "You why?"
"Hehehe, just be happy!" kathe Cengengesan.
"Happy why? Look at that handsome guy, huh?" Alma guessed, greeted with laughter Cathe. The girl glanced at Alma.
"You know! I just saw a handsome guy in the town square this afternoon!" sahut Cathe's. His hand moved wiping the window glass faster, following his mood.
"Who?" alma asked increasingly curious, to make the sweep activity stopped.
"And he's handsome?"
"Just right! Hehe!"
"Huuu, basic!" cibir Alma's. Then, he said, "All men are sure you say handsome!"
"But Prince Haldir is different! It was as if God had etched his face first before it was created!" call Cathe.
"Don't overdo it!" exciting Alma. He started sweeping all the dirt into the pengki. "Again, what I heard was an ugly rumor about him!"
"Eh, what? Handsome elves just like that there are still people talking ugly?" Cathe was astonished as she scrunched her forehead. Alma shook her hands.
"Ah, you don't know!"
"What about?"
Alma looked to the right and left, raising his vigilance. Cathe noticed her friend's movements and walked closer.
"Why? It's like you're hiding something. What's up?"
"It wasn't me who started this rumor first" whispered Alma, "I heard it from the servants in the palace complex."
"What rumors?" Cathe whispered. Wipe the window in his hand to dry because it is not rinsed for a long time, because it is fun to be left chatting.
"He said, Prince Haldir was the descendant of the late King Aelfric with a village girl!" whispered Alma back, making Cathe gasp.
"What! Don't be reckless! We can be arrested if we sound like we're defaming the royal family!" sergeant Cathe.
"I'm not kidding, I heard it myself! The palace servants who said so!"
"If it's true, it's true, yes, the rumor is that the queen is barren---"
"Hush, don't be so tight!" Alma prevented Cathe's words further by pressing her index finger against her friend's lips. Cathe immediately closed his mouth.
"Obviously, that means Prince Haldir could be illegitimate to be king. Because there is a possibility, the prince was born first before the relationship of the king and the village girl was confirmed!"

The rumors that were talked about between the two servants Cathe and Alma continued. They do not realize that Liv eavesdropped on their chat from behind the door of one of the rooms there. Although rarely out of the house during the day, Liv still knows the latest news and gossip from the two servants. So, Liv also knows who Prince Haldir is.
Haldir Legolas, that's the prince's name. As per Legolas tradition, anyone direct descendant of the king deserves the same opportunity to become a leader through probation. The king's candidates were given one year to complete the training. The candidate who best meets the criteria will actually get the next king title.
Therefore, Prince Haldir often spent his time traveling outside the Legolas region for various political and trade affairs. In fact, once in a while the prince went to war defending the territory from the enemy kingdom. All previous unfinished king's affairs must be handled by Prince Haldir. Not surprisingly, many residents have not recognized the face of their new king candidate.
Listening to the gossip just now, made Liv slightly forget her grief. He even became curious about the future king.
"Prince Haldir, huh? Like what, yeah, his face, until it's praised like that?"
However, Liv shook her head quickly afterwards. "For what reason do I think of others, if my own fate is already bleak!" Although the prince was rumored to be the son of a village woman, his life was still much luckier than Liv's.
Liv looked at her diary. There are empty pages in the book. "Maybe Melian still has another book. I'll ask him tonight."
The sunset arrived. Liv is feeling better than ever. The girl decided to leave the room. He wanted to go see Melian, to ask for a new notebook. It's two floors below Liv's room. To go that way, Liv has to pass through the lobby where her family is relaxing, a room that the girl has never entered. Her father never allowed Liv to go to places where guests could potentially enter the mansion.
Liv tried to walk straight without being curious about the contents of the lobby room. However, his legs stopped when the door of the room opened slightly. Liv peeked, her heart pounding. He promised himself that he would only like to look around for a moment. However, it was fortunate that his body did not enter the lobby completely, because it turned out that Melian and Olrun were talking inside. Liv gets curious and eavesdropped. The girl gasped when she heard her name being mentioned by her father and brother.
