Chapter 48 - A Sacrifice

Peter does get a message from Ethan not to have to pick up the guy. However, a few minutes later he got the code that the Don Mafia was in danger.

Without thinking, Peter immediately prepares a rescue plan for Ethan with Simon and Theo. They arrived on time because they were using helicopters.

Meanwhile, Ethan stands gallantly right in front of Roberto's car. The Eagle leader let go of his weapon, not a sign of surrender but a challenge.

One on one with empty hands.

It is common if the number of opponents is more or less, someone who feels a real man will prefer to have one on one with his bare hands rather than a wiggle.

"If you're a man, I challenge you!" ethan shouted out loud.

Mr. Bertrand who heard Ethan's challenge could only gap wide, the man was severely injured. Even his back was also hit by gunfire but why was he still challenging a healthy person to a fight?

"Has his brain been sliding?" furious Mr. Bertrand.

Meanwhile, Mr. Roberto seems hesitant to fight Ethan so he orders his men to shoot him in the head.

"Stop him!" snarl.

"Why should you just be killed?" joel asked with a slanted smile. "I think it'd be better if you fought him, Mr. Roberto, you'd get recognition in the underworld if you managed to defeat the leader of The Eagle" he concluded.

"Don't many say that he's invincible?" ask Jose.

"He's hurt" said Joel. "I'm sure half his power is gone." He said as convincing.

Hearing Joel's insistence, Mr. Roberto thought back and finally he nodded in agreement. And if he manages to kill Ethan, then all the Mafia organizations will be disinclined.

He gets out of the car, and Ethan looks very angry to see the traitor's face.

"I heard you wanted to get rid of me to take my kingdom," said Ethan, who surprised Mr. Roberto and wondered how Ethan knew.

Mr. Roberto turned his head and had all his men out of the car not to mention Jose and Joel.

"There is a traitor among us" whispered Mr. Roberto to Joel.

"Oh, then you must finish off the traitor" said Joel calmly.

"What are you waiting for, Robert?" ask Ethan. "To take my place, you have to be stronger than me. So let's prove our strength now!" exclamation Ethan.

The look in Ethan's eyes was sharp, and the man still looked strong despite bleeding all over.

"Are you afraid of him?" joel asked who saw his master was silent.

"No," replied the head of the Octopus organization. He takes off his suit and approaches Ethan.

Now, the two leaders of the organization face each other head-on.

Yesterday, they were still business partners and friends. Today, they were opponents and one of them had to die.

Isn't life really unpredictable?

While from the helicopter, Peter frowned at the loss to see Mr. Bertrand standing not far from Ethan.

"Why is that guy there?" murmured Peter.

"Should we kill him?" ask Theo who has now pointed his long barrel gun towards Mr. Bertrand.

"No, he's not the enemy" replied Peter. "Give your gun to Roberto, aim for his head but don't shoot while the fight is fair."

Theo obeyed immediately. While Peter is now aiming his gun at the snipper of an enemy helicopter, making sure they won't cheat by secretly shooting.

Jose starts to panic, because if Ethan can't be defeated, they'll all die. Jose is desperate to kill Peter before he dies to avenge his younger brother's death.

"Is that all your strength?" sneer Ethan as he manages to kick Roberto's stomach. "And a weakling like you wants to take my place?"

"You've always weakened me" exasperated Roberto. "Always force me to obey all your rules in business when you're not my boss" Roberto said, trying to stand up straight.

Secretly, Roberto took out a knife that he always kept under his sleeve.

While on the other hand, Jose was secretly aiming at Ethan. And when Ethan was about to attack Roberto again, the middle-aged man immediately stabbed Ethan in the stomach and along with that Jose fired his shot several times right hit Ethan's right chest, it surprised everyone.

Seeing the betrayal, Peter immediately shot the enemy helicopter and vice versa.

Simon immediately shot at Robertro's men making them all immediately take shelter at the side of the car. And when there was a chance, they also returned fire.

Theo tries to shoot Roberto, but the man is still struggling with Ethan, who is not willing to give up. Theo can't just shoot, because if the wrong target then he will hurt the Don mafia.

Mr. Bertrand who saw the chaos could only be stunned, until he saw Jose who was about to shoot Ethan again. He quickly runs, picks up the weapon Ethan threw away and randomly shoots at Roberto's men without knowing who the target is.

Jose was injured right in his stomach, making him even more angry and returning Mr. Bertrand's shot which directly hit the man's chest and stomach.

Ethan had a chance to see Mr. Bertrand, because he thought the man was gone.

Peter who exchanged fire with the enemy is now also shot on his shoulder until his weapon is released. Simon takes over and attacks the enemy helicopter blindly but he is troubled enough that Theo must help.

Below, Ethan tries to save Mr. Bertrand but now Jose is back to strafing the already helpless man with a shot.

"Stop!" ethan shouted furiously but Jose laughed happily.

"Why did you come back, you idiot?" ethan shouted but Mr. Bertrand was already seen dying even he was wiping out blood from his mouth.

"I'm asking you to leave!" ethan Lirih. All she had in mind right now was Louisa, how did she tell Louisa?

"I Am .. I am trying to atone for sin" said Mr. Bertrand in the remainder of his strength. "Bou ... Louisa!"

"Hey!" Ethan returns to his senses when Louisa's father is no longer breathing. Ethan suddenly felt weak, he felt helpless.

"You're going to die today!" kekeh Roberto who felt his victory was already in his hands. Moreover, he saw Ethan's men busy themselves while below here Ethan was helpless.

Mr. Roberto pointed his knife at Ethan's neck, which now rests on the side of Mr. Bertrand's corpse.

"Should I kill you or take you captive?" jehek Mr. Roberto. "Is it just this much power that you've always been arrogant—" the man's words came to a halt when Joel suddenly pointed his gun right before Mr. Bertrand's eyes.

"Joel?" murmured Mr. Bertrand in disbelief. "So you're the traitor?" Highlight the eyes of the man displaying disappointment when the most trusted even betrayed.

"Ah, of course not," joel chuckled. "I was sent to watch over you."

Mr. Roberto is very confused, it is difficult to believe that his right hand that he has always believed is a traitor. Joel's been with her for the last 10 years, so how can you?

While Ethan, now the man is smiling cynically. With great difficulty, and with all the pain in his body, Ethan tried to stand up.

"Do you know one way to be the strongest and most powerful person?" kekeh Ethan while taking a knife from Roberto's hand which still looks shocked to know Joel is a traitor. "Not only work hard but also have to work smart."

In one move, Ethan slashes Roberto hang's neck leaving the man instantly dying. While Jose can only gap.

Knowing he was in danger, Jose immediately ran and jumped into the river to save himself. Simultaneously, Theo and Simon managed to take down the opponent.

And now they're rushing to rescue Ethan.
