Chapter 21 - The Beginning of Destruction

Ethan read a newspaper published 22 years ago. About the death of a wealthy family in their mansion, the police stated it was a robbery and the shooting occurred because of resistance so that no one survived the incident.

Smart people know, it was a massacre. But a smart man without money and power cannot speak.

While the police who handle this case is Tommy, he even arrested some people who he said his group from the robbery. And the men confirmed there was a shootout between the robbers and the occupants of the house. While the cctv is broken, nothing can be proven anymore.

"It is time you welcomed your destruction after 22 years of triumph over the blood and tears of my family."

Yeah, Eduardo's family was taken for granted by a friend and business partner who was none other than Rae's family. Only for the sake of the real treasure and throne did they build together, for the sake of a gold mine that they could actually manage together. But Mr. Bertrand's greed made the man want to master it alone.

"Ethan?"

Ethan turned his head when he heard Louisa's voice. The girl stood in the doorway with a frowning face, looking funny in fact but Ethan looked at her with emotion.

"Ethan, when are we going to shop? I want to buy clothes, body lotion, soap, toner, and everything. I—" Louisa's words came to a standstill as Ethan suddenly approached her, the look of the man's eyes looking different, like a tiger about to pounce on its prey. In the man's hand was a gun that had been unlocked.

"Why are you looking at me like that? You're scaring me," said Louisa.

"Do you know this is a real kidnapping, Lou?" ethan asked which made Louisa look confused.

"What do you mean, Ethan? You really kidnapped me?"

Ethan nodded, he picked up the weapon in his hand, pointing it right at Louisa's head. "You're gonna kill me too?" louisa asked with a trembling voice.

Ethan just nodded. "You know I love you, you still want to kill me?" Louisa wants to get Ethan's attention. Ethan doesn't care. He pulled the trigger, slid the hot lead right into Louisa's head

DOORR!

"Ethan?"

"Ethan!"

"Hey?"

Ethan fluttered, his heart beating so fast that even cold sweat was pouring down his temple. The man's gaze seemed empty until a tiny hand touched his face, wiping away the sweat that was pouring down his temple.

"You sick, Bodyguard?"

Ethan looked into the girl's eyes in front of him. "Lou?" he called out in a soft voice, as if he could not believe Louisa was still alive.

"Wow, this is the third time you've called me Lou, I really like it," Louisa said with a smile. Ethan ignores that. He looked at his hand, no gun. He also looked at Louisa from top to bottom, the girl was healthy, not hurt in the least.

What then? Was he just hallucinating?

"You're sweating, even though your room is air-conditioned," said Louisa, now she looks anxious especially Ethan's face looks pale. "I think you're sick, Bodyguard. All right, we're not going anywhere, you just take a break."

"Why do you believe me, Miss Rae?"Ethan asks the question without caring about Louisa's previous rant. "What if I betray you and hurt you?"

"You won't do that" Louisa replied confidently.

"Only the elect can work with us, Ethan, Daddy makes a very strict selection on anyone who will work for us." Louis explained calmly, because it was exactly what he knew.

"You were once a soldier, you were also a minister's bodyguard. No one will doubt your loyalty."

Ethan smiled slanted, if Louisa knew .. that's why he was a soldier and became the minister's bodyguard. To gain Mr. Bertrand's trust, to get a chance to enter his enemy's house with a clean identity.

For 22 years, Ethan thought through and devised this revenge plan to perfection.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Bertrand entered the room. "Darling ..." Mr. Bertrand was sitting next to his wife, holding his now trembling hand.

"Louisa .. You must find Louisa, our daughter. Oh my God, he's gonna kill her."

Mr. Bertrand and his wife could only hold their breath at the automatically spinning video and could not stop it.

"Don't touch me!"

"Please let me go!"
