Karen immediately wiped the traces of tears. Meanwhile, Chalvin turned around quickly, trying to cover up Karen who was crying to avoid suspicion.
"Oma tell me to come here, uh .. she's coming home!"
"Yes, I just got Oma home!" Darren.
Just glancing stiffly at Karen, Chalvin said, "Yes, crazy! Oma Masa wants to know me as a model girl ondel-ondel."
Chalvin walked forward to Darren, then took the man out of the house. This opportunity used Karen to go back to the room and lay her body on the bed.
Twenty minutes later, Darren walked into the room with warm tea for him. Come to think of it, the man always made him a cup of tea when he complained of pain. Because of the cup of tea made by sincere hands, the seeds of love began to seep in his heart at that time.
Just about to wake Karen up, suddenly the man's phone rings. Seeing that the name of the phone caller was his father-in-law, he hurriedly answered him.
"Hello, Mi ...."
Knowing that the call was her mom, Karen held her breath while trying to sharpen her hearing.
"Darren, Karen is with you, isn't she? You see, he called suddenly disconnected, continued mami call back even unanswered.
"Yes, Mi. Karen's at home with me. Maybe he had another break because today he was not feeling well" Darren said, inserting a thermometer in Karen's mouth.
"What's? Karen, my sweetie pie, sick?" Vallen's mummy's voice was loud, as if piercing Darren's eardrum.
"Yes, Mi. This was her body fever, but now it's down" Darren replied reading Karen's current body temperature.
"If Mami's going there now, huh? You must be busy."
Karen held Darren's wrist while shaking her head quickly, asking him not to agree.
While glancing at Karen, Darren said, "No need, Mi! Karen's my wife, so it's my duty to take care of her."
"Yes, that's it. Mami hand it over to you. But, if there's anything, please tell me, yes!" Mami Valen ended the call.
Karen then sipped a warm tea made by Darren. She always loved her husband's tea. The fresh and distinctive aroma made his mood calmer. It doesn't feel too sweet as a promise. This cup of tea seems to make him realize that it is himself who measures the level of happiness and sadness in life. Like the amount of sugar in tea that depends on the desire of the connoisseur.
"You make me tea a lot, but I've never even made you coffee. I like to see couples who spend the afternoon drinking tea together in the yard" said Karen smiling while holding a cup with both hands.
Darren smiled wryly, then pulled the teacup Karen held into her mouth and took a sip of the tea. "A cup of both is better than holding each other's glasses, but it doesn't run out."
Karen's big smile expands. The simple talk, as if giving a supply of strength in him so that the sense of wanting to recover was flaring up in him. Lady First said, "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water" which means: a woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong the tea is until it is in hot water. Maybe, right now Karen's trying to be a teabag. I don't know ....
...----------------...
A new day welcomes the recovered Karen. He stood in front of the economics faculty building, turning his face towards the soft silvery shining sun. Letting the sun stretch out its rays to touch the skin of his blushing face. Yes, today he is ready to fight to conquer about UAS, although yesterday had been absent and had to take the next exam.
When he finished, he and his two best friends planned to hang out in the cafe. However, suddenly a car he recognized stopped right in front of them. When the car door opened, a graceful and classy woman greeted him with excitement.
"Mommy! Why come here?" Karen was surprised because her mother was suddenly in the campus area.
"Karen, mom was from your house. But there's no one. Mother called Darren, she said you were in college. So, yes, have mami come here all you want to make sure you have lunch. We haven't had lunch together in a long time."
Karen looked towards Nadya and Vera. Of course he felt bad for having made an appointment to the cafe together.
"Yes, Kar, go home with your mom. You can hang out sometime" whispered Nadya.
"No, deh, Auntie. We want to go straight home," rejected Nadya while grinning.
"Yes, Tan. We have to study for the test tomorrow" Vera added.
Karen and Valen's mom are sliding into their favorite restaurant. Along the way, Karen's mind raged like a tangled thread. He's still considering whether to tell Valen's mom about the doctor's diagnosis. Because, however, he did not want to make his parents panic and worry.
"Abis eat us to the salon, yes! Mom wants treatment, here. You also need treatment to be more glowing. Moreover, your eyes are very sunken. Being married and having a husband does not mean that you stop taking care of yourself. Many women who can not appreciate themselves, consider no need for care .. after all have been sold! Taking care of yourself is a form of gratitude and appreciation for yourself. There is a woman who has just realized to fix herself after divorce or abandoned her husband, hoping her husband will mengesel because already measles her. But, according to mom, it's too late. Be late! If you're divorced let alone have a new partner, he doesn't care how beautiful we are!" babble mami Valen at length.
"Mami .. we go home, yuk! Karen's having lunch at home. Shrimp miss our aunt's cooking." pinta Karen slow down.
Mami Vallen who was driving then gasped. "Do you really want to have lunch at home?"
Karen nodded. Mami Valen has to turn the car. Arriving at home, Valen's mother immediately asked their ART to prepare lunch. He then invited Karen into the room to choose the bags he just bought.
Karen sat on the edge of the bed. He was still worried and upset until he did not focus on hearing Valen's mama's babble while in Paris. Several times he was seen to take a breath while exhaling it, in order to neutralize the feeling of unwelcome.
"Mami .. no one wants Karen to talk," said Karen slowly.
Karen's expression that looked gloomy, made Valen's mother immediately sit beside her son. "You why? From that moment on, glum! Is there a problem with Darren? Is he cheating?"
Karen shakes.
"Or is there a problem with it? He must still be forcing you to drink potions!"
Karen returned to her head. "It's not about darren or oma Belle. It's about Karen herself. It's my problem, Mi."
"What?! Don't-don't you .. cheat, huh? You're smitten with a guy your age, right?" Mami Valen even guessed the no-no.
"No way Mommy!" Swallowing her saliva and catching her breath for a moment, Karen began to tell her what she had been holding for almost two weeks. His lips trembled as he forced himself to make a sound. Her tears were shed without being held back. He can hide this problem from Darren, but not his mother.
Mami Valen's eyes glazed over for a moment. For a while, his lips locked and his tongue seemed to be twisted. His heart seemed to suddenly pulsate inexplicably.
"Karen baby, we're going to the hospital now, yeah! We're doing a complete test. The doctor could be wrong! Mami's children rarely get sick during this time, something must be wrong" said Valen's mother who immediately stood up while pulling Karen's arm. There was panic in every word that jumped from his mouth. "Are you the same story as Darren?" ask Mami Valen for a moment.
Karen nodded weakly.
Mami Valen is back on Karen's right side. "How can you hide this from your husband?"
"I'm scared ...."
Mami Valen frowned. "You should tell this story with Darren. Anyway he's your husband. It is appropriate that he knows the inside out about you and is willing to accept in all conditions, and vice versa. If you don't want to tell a story, the mother who will come she tells you directly!"
