Aarav
"Do you have love for me like I have it for you, Rav?"
Els' question kept me from picking. Do I have to be honest with how I feel about her? Wouldn't I be honest enough to make him wish me much more?
I can breathe a sigh of relief because the girl's question I don't need to answer, because the return of Om Jimmy and Aunt Nimas made Els' attention divided.
"Mom, Dad..." Els shook her parents' hands with reverence.
"Eh, there's Aarav!" Aunt Nimas smiled kindly. I immediately pushed on the wheelchair and approached the two Els parents and greeted them as well.
"Old time, Rav?" hello Om Jimmy.
"Not long, Om."
Om Jimmy nodded his head. He then gave her permission to shower and clean up.
"Om, can we talk after Om's done with it?" ask me to vent. For anyone I have to be a gentleman. Enough to be a paralyzed man, can not be added again with a coward tittle.
"okay." Jimmy put on a witty smile.
Els looked at me, asking if I really wanted to talk to her parents? Of course I'm very serious about it.
Like Aunt Nimas and Om Jimmy, Els is back.
"I'll go to the room first." Els ran up the stairs, apparently saddened by my decision until she left me alone in the guest room of her residence. Never once did that girl leave me like this, but I can take it because her heartache came from myself.
I waited for a while while looking at the state of Om Jimmy's house, before long the handsome man at his age who was no longer young even met me in the living room with a more relaxed appearance.
"Rav... What's wrong?"
I looked at the smiling Om Jimmy. I know that Om Jimmy was the cassanova of his day and I also know that even so Om Jimmy never played Aunt Nimas before. From there, I came to the conclusion that at least I didn't play Els either by hurting her because of another woman. So, I hope Om Jimmy can understand my position.
"I want to say something, Om."
"Regard?"
"Where is Aunt Nimas, Om?"
"Oh, your appointment is preparing dinner for us. You ate here today too."
I nodded despite the sudden condolences surrounding me, especially since in a moment I will tell you what will date Om Jimmy's family.
"Oh yeah, what were you talking about, Rav?"
"Regarding my engagement to Els." I said carefully.
"What's wrong? You guys are okay, right? Ah yes, where's Rachel?"
"We're fine, Om. Els has gone to her room" I replied.
"Then? What is this thing?" Jimmy was sitting in front of me in a relaxed manner.
"Previously, sorry. I want to say something unpleasant. With a heavy heart, I want my engagement and Els to be broken. Our marriage was also annulled." I ventured into the face of Om Jimmy who suddenly changed pias. The witty smile he had been putting up with since, was slowly beginning to vanish.
For a long time we were silent in a quiet atmosphere. Until Jimmy's voice came back.
"Why?" asking her with the tone I caught was a disappointed intonation.
Jimmy nodded his head. His face seemed to think and a few seconds later he smiled again.
"Are you sure about this? Just because of your self-doubt, you let go of Rachel? Aren't you going to regret this later?"
"I've thought about it, Om."
"Then?"
"I'm sorry for sure, I'll regret it. Especially if later Els to belong to others. Anyway, I love him, Om." I told him honestly, to Om Jimmy I could tell him but to Els I couldn't because I didn't want the girl to go back to hoping for a guy like me.
"Then? Why are you doing this? If you do this, it means that you will inevitably see Rachel with another man later."
"I know, it's better. I'd rather see Els with another man if he's happy, than with me but his happiness is mortgaged."
"You're too naive, Aarav..." Jimmy clucked his tongue, not out of thought with the choices I made. I get it, a little bit of my choice sounds naive but love is sometimes unpredictable and vague.
I want to see Els happy even if not with me. Sounds like shit but that's how it is.
"Decide carefully, Rav! You said Rahelsa would rather be happy with someone else than with you but not happy, right? Then... what if being with other people also does not make Rachel happy? Can you guarantee he'll be happy if he lives with other people later?"
Om Jimmy's question got me cornered, I didn't think about this before. What I always thought was that Els was unhappy with me, Els would be happy with someone else.
Then, if even with other people Els remains unhappy, how?
This is what I haven't found the answer to.
"I don't know when I'm cured. I won't be able to make Els happy for a long time, Om. Maybe with someone else, Els would be happier than with me." I try to express what I think.
"Alright, Om understands what you mean. But, if you suddenly recover and at that time Rachelsa will marry someone else, how?"
"That means I'm not a match for him."
"That's it, huh?"
I nodded even though I wasn't sure what I would do if it really happened. Maybe I'll derail Els' marriage if I get well and she'll marry someone else. Or, maybe I'll just accept the situation. I don't know.
"Aaravn..." Jimmy got up from his seat. "You think about this maturely first. You're too young, sometimes your lab soul isn't completely gone. It gives you time to think." Um Jimmy patted me on the shoulder then.
"Time to think?"
"Yes, think well! If you still break off your engagement, Om will introduce Rahelsa to another Om partner's child. Make sure at that time there will be no regrets in your heart."
I was stunned for a moment. Until Jimmy asked me to dinner at their dinner table.
At the dinner table, I met Els. He sat across from me. Sometimes she smiles at me. I returned his smile. Ah, I've let her down with the one-sided decision I made.
It's true said Om Jimmy, just because of my unbelief, I intend to destroy everything.
"Aarav, let's eat. Don't look at Rachel, she doesn't dare eat because she's groggy." The sound of Aunt Nimas laughter followed after the remark came out of her mouth.
"Mama what the hell!" grouse Els.
I immediately realized, I lyrics Om Jimmy who sniffed his shoulders while smiling meaningfully at me.
Am I really sincere if Els will be introduced to another man?
