Chapter 236

The surrounding people froze, as did everything else, dust, flying debris, even the sea. Both Amon and Kizaru were at speeds beyond what those outside could imagine. They live in separate times.

Amon looked up at the sky, at the shining Admiral.

She had heard about the 'operation' Kizaru had done before, but she did not have all the details. What exactly is that operation? What changes have happened to that man? The only thing he knew was: Kizaru was taken to the main castle of Mariejois in an unconscious state, almost a year ago, and when he returned, he had already undergone the aforementioned surgery.

It's mostly a secret but the higher Marines know about it. That's where Amon learned it through Hina, to begin with.

Although he does not need any additional information to know the culprit behind the operation is the great Imu-sama, at least in part, as he also heard Vegapunk was also related to this.

After fusing Vegapunk's genius, and whatever power Imu possessed, it seemed that Kizaru could gain access to the full power of his fruits.

...Again, Kizaru may not gain access to the full power of Pika-Pika. When he saves Kong, he does not move at the actual speed of light, as Amon does see a yellow glint along with Kizaru's face. Unless it was the Admiral's tactic to lower his vigilance, Amon had nothing to worry about.

It was not that he had no more cards up his sleeves. It had been a long time since Amon had woken up the fruit, so he had the chance to try out some truly devastating attacks.

On this realization, he smiled to the sky.

"We meet again" Amon said into the air. "Good hand, by the way."

Kizaru, whose body was glowing, clicked his tongue. “Che, when you failed to kill me the first time, we were destined to meet again, Amon . You have no idea how annoying it is to carry these large metal arms around all the time. ”

The tone was not suitable for him, people familiar with it would be shocked to see him acting this way. This may be the first time he has been angry in a decade.

'The arm ...' Amon stared. That's enough proof that Kizaru can't access the actual speed of light. Logia or not, with a metal arm attached to her, she would need boundless energy to propel her to the speed of light.

It's a bit of a relief for Amon, this means he doesn't need to use his last card here, which will wipe Marineford off the map, along with most people present, other than maybe those outside the Admiral.

Amon smile. "Surely very annoying, really-"

He did not finish his words and instead directly kicked the ground, hoping to let Kizaru off guard with his sudden movements.

Amon can, unlike Kizaru, access true lightning speed without his logic form. He had this power even before waking up.

Unfortunately, even when Amon appeared in front of him at lightning speed, trying to punch his entrails, Kizaru disappeared from his place, and in the next second, a punch hit Amon's ribcage, throwing it deep into the city, it crashed into a building, but there was no dust or debris rising in this slowing world.

Kizaru flashed towards him.

—★—

When Kizaru first lost to Amon 3 years ago, he wanted to be strong enough to defeat Amon at any cost.

The thing is, Kizaru's top card is his speed, but Amon can exceed his speed unless Kizaru uses his Logia form. In that form, Kizaru was very close to the Speed of Light, the only reason he could not achieve the real thing was because of Logia or not, he had mass. However, he could still surpass Amon in that form. The other problem was, in that form, he could not think or see. His brain could not keep up with the speed. He wonders why Amon's brain could be, and after asking Vegapunk, he finds out it's because of some science bullshit.

The human brain already uses electricity to think, so Amon can only increase it with his fruit, which allows him to think at the same speed as when he moves – Lightning Speed.

Kizaru's brain, although he is a light logia, uses electricity to think. So Kizaru somehow needs his brain to think fast enough to match his speed. Which, as Vegapunk said, is impossible.

...At least in his current state .

Vegapunk then offered him an artificial brain that he used in the Pacifista. Kizaru rejected the idea. If he puts something that uses a large amount of electricity in his brain, Amon can blow it up, even if he tries to protect it with his Haki.

But as it turns out, Vegapunk has more than one way.

He did not know why, but the government decided to help him as much as they could. Using a large power source, Vegapunk created an artificial brain, a brain that uses light to work instead of electricity to send signals through artificial neurons. The problem with that brain is, implanting it to replace his present brain will not guarantee the safety of his consciousness, because while the transfer of memory is easy, consciousness cannot be transferred.

That's not the only problem either.

The next problem was that, even if successful, the artificial brain would probably melt or at least be severely damaged as Kizaru moved at high speed. Kizaru's light has heat in it, it can cause explosions and burn anything. He could control the heat of course, for example he made a sword of light to fight Rayleigh, the sword had no heat. But when at a speed beyond his realm, his body would begin to glow, as it did now, and the artificial brain would immediately heat up and melt, thus killing him.

He did not want to agree to such an absurd idea of course. That's why he didn't have surgery for the first two years, but a year ago, the government suddenly said that they had found a way. They took him to Mariejoa, rendered him unconscious, and performed surgery. After he wakes up, he finds out what's different about this than Vegapunk suggested.

Apparently, instead of the metal used in the first project, the one he planted was made of .. Poneglyph material.

It's still gonna melt, but slowly. After all, light can reach 15 million degrees Celsius at some point. Kizaru never reached that heat, far enough from it, he actually never used his actual heat, because he couldn't. Like Amon at first, even though his body was made of electricity, he could not use more than 250 million volts because it would hurt him, so Kizaru.

Right now, if Vegapunk was right, he could only last for 60 minutes at his relative speed.

—★—

Kizaru's punch hit his ribs, even throwing them into the city, but does it hurt? No, not even a little.

His painful operation would be useless if it was painful. Kizaru's strong point is his speed and perhaps his laser attack, not his punch . His Big Mom version of Tekkai, which he calls Big Tekkai, is not yet as big as Big Mom, but it still won't hurt with just this much .

In the next second, Kizaru was in front again. This time, he swung his metallic arm that glowed red. Amon tries to teleport from his place, his teleportation is still faster than the current Kizaru, but his senses are not. Before he could move his power to teleport, Kizaru's punch hit his chest. A burning feeling enveloped him, but before becoming serious, he teleported in midair.

His arms were indeed hot, but so were the insides of his body. It won't burn that much.

Among the many cards up his sleeve, Amon chose the most appropriate one. Being on the side of Marineford where no one was present, he was ready to make a move.

Kizaru turned towards him, rushing towards him, just as Amon crossed his arms in front of him. He received the punch directly, which threw him deep into the sky. Amon flew while at the same time expelling electricity through everything, the sky, the ground, and even the buildings within the city of Marineford. Each atom was filled, the area suddenly became warm.

Kizaru also noticed the change.

Air ... buzzing? Like being electrocuted?

Kizaru didn't heed it, Amon must have tried something, and he couldn't let that happen. He grabbed the flying Amon and swung his arm, Amon's chest a few inches in front of him. His arms flew to his chest, but Amon disappeared.

Huh huh?

Kizaru quickly turned around, but Amon's Haki-coated punch hit his face, this time causing him to fly into the city instead.

Kizaru's mind went blank as she tried to think of .

—★—

By filling the entire area, such as, by ionizing the air, soil, and even the houses in the town of Marineford, the entire area is like an electric dome. Thus, Ammon can freely replace its position with any charged electron, thus creating a different kind of teleportation than usual. The main difference was that since the entire area had been filled, Amon could sense any movement in the city, with his mind, and passively dodged any attack even before the attacker threw his attack forward.

It's like feeling the movement of an ant crawling near your feet, and before it can reach your head, its target, you can ignore it.

Similarly, Kizaru was on the ground, 100 meters below him, and even before Kizaru could make a move, Amon knew what attack he was going to use, not using his Future Vision, not using his Future Vision, which would delay it, but by reading the movements of Kizaru's muscles using electrons around the Admiral.

Amon's body disappears from its place before a beam of light can leave Kizaru's finger. The beam then shot into the sky and passed through where Amon was standing just a few milliseconds ago.

Kizaru could not react to Amon appearing behind him and kicking his neck, causing the Admiral to barely raise his hand at the last moment to try to block the attack helplessly.

His metal arm was flexed while his natural arm was broken as he cried out in pain. Amon takes this opportunity to attack him again, but this time Kizaru avoids him. Unless Amon teleported, he was still the slower one here.

In his rage, Kizaru swings his metal arm at Amon, but this is again captured by the charged electrons that have relayed this information as Kizaru's first muscle strand twitches. The punch floated in the air, where Amon should have been.

Kizaru suddenly turned around behind him, but Amon was not there, at that moment, Amon had already returned to where he was before. Before Kizaru could turn around again, Amon unsheathed his sword, coated it with Ryo, Conqueror Haki, and high voltage electricity, then released it in a swing of < Sword King > .

In a slowing world, Kizaru's neck turned to face Amon at high speed, which caused his own neck to reach the side of the sword. The sword pierced his neck like butter. Blood spurted out immediately, but Kizaru did not shout, nor did any blood break to the ground. Blood floated in the air as Kizaru's body also froze, his head and body separated.

Now that he was dead, he lost the power of his fruit, which meant he was just like any other human.

Now, not even a second has passed. But Kizaru is light speed in the afterlife.

—★—

A few seconds ago,

Raki was happy to see Amon jump into Little Oars' neck and crash into the ice. But he couldn't focus on her anymore because he had his own opponent to worry about.

" ha... "

Standing a few steps away from Hawkeye Mihawk, he gasped for breath, the twin swords in his hands trembling.

His clothes were covered in scars, but there were no injuries. It had already healed due to its Zoan Strength.

Now, he realized he could not defeat Mihawk using the sword. He pushed her backwards several times but was unable to land a single slash. It's like spraying fire into lava. Nothing has changed. This, rather than using another form of attack, made him want to defeat Mihawk with his sword at any cost, but he also realized that it would not work. Mihawk just kept him away from another fight at the moment. If he couldn't help his faction kill several thousand enemies, it wouldn't put him to sleep tonight.

So, he sheathed his sword and took a deep breath, his body slowly starting to grow bigger.

Mihawk frowned at him, displeasure clearly visible in his eyes. She expected him to fight like a swordsman, but as his already hairy body grew and took the form of a huge feathered snake, Mihawk looked at her disapprovingly. He also sheathed his sword and left just like that. If he wouldn't fight with the sword, it wouldn't be fun in this war, he better leave.

Raki did not stop him, not as many people expected. He instead opened his mouth and let out a huge roar that covered the entire area.

People noticed him, some froze and ran to the opposite side, mistaking him for Kaido. But the people who did not mistake thought he was running towards her.

When he stopped roaring, his reptilian tail was already busy destroying the assailant behind him. But his mind went nowhere.

His large golden eyes looked at where Amon was fighting. Amon swung the sword at Kong's neck, he blinked, and the next second ... Kong was lying on the ground, his neck cut off, lying limp beside the admiral who was wearing gold, and on top of the two corpses, Amon who was smiling a second ago, stood with a bloody sword in his hand, his breathing is a little heavy.

 ...Did he miss something?

Author's Note: The technique in which Amon changes his place with electrons is like Law's Shambles/Rinnegon Sasuke's Teleportation.

Also, look a little 'complaint' in the last chapter. People seem to forget that Amon was no ordinary Emperor. Without polishing the other characters, it would be like an adult man fighting a toddler.
