Chapter 2

Falling !
My nearly fading consciousness leaped back as I gasped for breath, only to feel a thick liquid gush into my lungs. I'm not choking, which is worrying.
Not only that, it was all dark and I barely felt my other senses like hearing, smell, and touch.
I could feel myself panicking, trying my hardest to move, but I calmed down. In this kind of desperate situation, panic was the last thing I had to do.
It took a while, but I calmed down and started thinking.
Where'sisthis?
My skull being crushed by a bus is not a good feeling, it hurts. The pain was enough to make me believe that none of this was a dream or a hallucination. I survive won't be anything less than a miracle, but do I really survive?
There's a possibility this is the afterlife I'm talking about, and there's another possibility that this is-
* badum !*
A hard heartbeat interrupts me. It was not mine, I could hear mine separately, which only complemented my suspicions.
Unexpected death, darkness, and then a heartbeat that wasn't mine. All of this strangely reminds me of the genre of cliche reincarnation. I was an avid gamer and loved anime and fanfiction before my father's death. So none of this is too surprising.
I have been reincarnated.
Sounds absurd, I know. But when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever is left, however impossible, must be the truth.
I can't see. That makes sense. If this was truly reincarnation and I was inside someone's womb, I wouldn't be able to see even with the right eyes, let alone the baby's eyes. I have to confirm my suspicions. I try to move my hand and extend my hand forward. It was facing a warm wall, and as I touched it, I could hear a barely audible groan from outside.
Hah, so I was indeed inside someone's womb. Then again, there is a possibility this is Regression, not Reincarnation.Maybe I have been sent back in time, and this woman who is inside me is actually my own mother?
I need to confirm it after getting out of here-
As soon as the thought crossed my mind, I felt a force pull me towards the small gap. I immediately understood what was happening. I am giving birth.
While the idea of coming through*****women is not that entertaining, I am still excited and nervous to find out exactly where I have been reborn.

It was a struggle, a great effort spent. Both me and my woman inside. It must have been very painful for him, but in the end he had to be happy to see his son alive. But unfortunately, if this isn't a Regression, it's very likely that she won't get the maternal love she deserves from me. Most of my human emotions died out a while ago, I couldn't love another woman as my mother, unless the sky turned upside down.
The light immediately found its way into my eyes as I was pulled out by two hands through a small slit of light.
My vision turned out to be clearer than a baby should have. Special body? Or the right to reincarnation?
I saw those two wrinkled hands lifting me up into the air. With the owner of the hand, an old woman, laughing at herself.
"Geez, look, it's a man!" He looked at me with his big old, wrinkled face.
Man, so I'm still a man. Glad to hear. The good news is that he speaks English. There is also very sad news. I don't recognize this woman, or her surroundings. The house I was in was a hut made of mud.
I have most likely been reincarnated in the past, or perhaps the medieval world, instead of Retreating ...
I removed my disappointment and the lump growing in my throat and instead focused on my name
Amon is a good name. Almost too grand. But it will suit me when I myself become extraordinary one day. If this was a medieval world, I mean miraculous, then I already had some purpose in my mind...
The woman laughed again. "Look at you, not crying though newborn, it's a warrior-like thing to do. I'm sure, your ancestor, Kalgara-"
He was forced to stop before I could interpret his words correctly, a painful grunt coming from behind us.
"Ughhh!"
The old woman pulled her neck back and I followed her gaze. Next to us, on the bed, a woman with blood and water coming out from between her legs gasped like a fish coming out of the water. It was a sad sight. From the looks of it, he'll be dead soon.
"Akanta!"
The old woman in my arms screamed and slid next to the dying woman, my biological mother from this life whom I did not know.
"Don't just give up, look, it's your son!"
He placed me in front of the dying woman, where the woman stretched out her sweaty hand and clasped my right cheek. I stared at him silently.
After staring into my eyes for a moment with her red, flaming pupils, she smiled at me just as her hands slid down my cheeks and her head swayed. Death took away his soul.
"Akanta!!"
The old woman shouted again, and I sighed. I said I wouldn't be able to love others like my mother once did, but that doesn't mean it's not weird to see. She was still the woman who gave birth to me. Then again, this sadness will disappear in a few hours.
...I'm mistaken. The sadness soon disappeared when something else caught my attention.
On the back of the dead woman pressing on the bed, two white wings poked out. I immediately turned to the old woman who was shouting, there are actual white wings from her back as well.
I would say they are cosplaying, but who would do such a thing at childbirth? Now that I have focused my senses on my back, I can also feel something sticking up on my back. Wings actually…
A question came to my mind.
They are angels...?
I immediately shook my head.
No. that's not true.
Angels do not live in houses made of mud. They must be a race like birds.
...I need more information. If this was a fantasy world then I would have a lot to prepare for. Moreover, if this was the world of anime, then I would have more things to prepare for.
I just hope the world isn't too dangerous.
That was when the old woman stopped screaming and looked at me sadly. I don't know why, maybe because reality ended up sinking in me, realizing that I would never see my family again, or maybe because I just saw someone die, my baby hormones gave up.
Immediately, I found a stream of tears streaming down my cheeks as cries came out from my mouth.
