Be late

Amara paced in the parking lot of the hotel where she worked. While occasionally looking at the clock on the phone screen, and staring at the increasingly quiet road.

The time had already shown at eight o'clock in the evening, and he was still there. The clock home should have passed.

"What are you doing here?" The woman he knew as a receptionist approached him.

"I'm waiting for someone." Amara answered.

"Who?"

Amara stunned. What should he call Galang? A boyfriend? Nope. A fella? He was not willing to call the man a friend, as his feelings were clearly much more than that.

"Oh yeah, did you meet that guy this afternoon?" The receptionist then asked.

"Whose man?"

"Which watch you found on the fifth floor."

"What?"

"No meeting? I told you to meet you in the back."

"When? What time?" Amara started to panic.

"Around six."

"Hour six?"

"Yes. So you didn't know he was coming, did you? I thought you guys met, 'cause he was in a hurry to get out." The receptionist spoke again.

"He got in?"

"Yes, I show you the way, and he's back. But not long before he hurried out."

"Huh? What time did you say?"

"Hour six."

Amara remembers what she was doing at the time.

"Dead me!" He patted his own head.

"What?"

"Sister Galang must have seen that I was talking to Piere," he said, "So he also saw that I was right ...." He remembered what happened after that. When he and Piere frozen each other because they were so happy after getting news of graduation.

"So what I saw was really Galang?" Amara mutters.

He then returned to the hotel to pick up his bag, then intended to leave.

"Hey, I want to go home ...."

"I have to go to the airport!" Amara screaming.

"What?"

"I have to chase Galang to the airport."

"Who?"

"Sister Galang! The guy who gave you a tip!"

"To airport? Didn't he come here? You said he was ...."

"He's coming, but he's going again." Amara walked out in a hurry.

"Why?"

"I don't know, he didn't even see me."

"Yeah, but why?"

"Maybe he saw something ...."

"What?"

"ah! It's not possible, either, when he saw that?" Amara became more panicked.

Especially when there is no taxi passing, but usually public transportation is often pacing the streets in front of the hotel where he works, or coming to deliver guests.

"Sister Galang! It can't be like that, right?" He in a frustrated tone, then crouched down on the sidewalk.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Piere pulled him until Amara got up.

"Can I still go after him?" The girl said.

"Cursuing her to where?"

"To the airport."

"No way! It's too late!"

The girl started to sob.

"It's possible, isn't it, ... the plane is late?"

"What did you say?"

"Maybe ... something ... that makes the plane late?"

"No way!"

"That's possible. For example, yesterday he was staying at this hotel, and then we met. For two years I avoided it?"

"But ...."

"I'm going to the airport!" Amara ran away.

"Hey, wait!!" And Piere's after him.

...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...

"How's it?" Dimitri distracts him briefly from the laptop once Galang returns after talking to the pilot.

"Maybe we should wait a little while longer. The rock had just subsided." replied Galang who then sat in his chair originally.

They decided to stay in the airport vip waiting room. After getting word from the pilot an hour ago that air traffic around Europe should be stopped due to the storm.

"It's weird, when the weather here is pretty good, but why is there even a storm?" Dimitri mutters.

"Then what about the crew? Are they just as waiting as we are?" He then asked.

"No sir, the crew was already flying an hour ago before the storm, and they were able to get past it. Now it's in safe territory." He also read the information that arrived on his phone.

"Thank God."

"Mommy, why aren't you coming with us?" Even Zenya who had fallen asleep was waiting.

"Yes, Anom's in a hurry." Rania answered.

"Why rush?"

"Rush to go home."

"Go back to Enin?"

"Yes." Yeah." Rania chuckles.

"You want to date too?" Anya suddenly replied.

"Eh? Why did Anya say that?" rania protests to her daughter.

"Huh, Anom also often hugs Enin? Must be because I'm going out?" The boy innocently.

"Geez!" Rania patted her forehead, frustrated.

"It's because of the dudul. My son kept it going!" Then he grumbled.

"Well, the hug guy's not just going out." Galang then replied after hearing the conversation between the mother and the child.

"Keep what?"

"There are many reasons."

"For example?"

"Because darling, because it's sad, because it's parting, or because it's celebrating."

"Oh, which one is Brother Ara?" Innocently the boy asked.

"Well you?"

Steady for a moment.

"We'll split up last night." Then he answered.

"Oh, so if you want to go have a hug first?"

"Only to those you love. Not to any random person. For example Mommy and Papi, Oma and Opa, Anom or Enin. To Zenya too."

"If the same Om?"

Galang stared at the innocent face of the five-year-old.

"Umm .. may."

"To anyone else?"

"Can't carelessly hug people, let alone those who don't know and are not close."

"Why?"

"Not good."

"So who can be the same?"

"Just like family."

"Boyfriend too?"

"Geez!"

"For you, Anya, it keeps going." Rania interrupted.

Galang did not answer, but he just rolled his eyeballs.

"The point is you should not carelessly hug people, not good because it will cause problems later."

"What problem?"

"Well, why do you ask so many questions? Did you explain it?"

"And I don't understand yet. Mommy said that you don't know ask." The boy answered.

"I answered you already."

"Steep it away."

Dimitri sounded laughing.

"But laughing?" The son turned to his father.

"But happy because that means you're smart."

"Oo, yes dong."

"Well, because you're a smart kid, so you can't keep remembering the bad things?" The man closed the laptop after he finished his work.

"What for example?"

"Many things are not good, later if you have grown up Papi will tell you. Now, just listen to the explanation as Om Galang said earlier."

"Can't hug each other besides Mommy, Papi, Oma, Opa, Anom, Enin, Zen the same Om Galang?"

"Yes right." Dimitri laughed again as he moved his hand, gesturing for his daughter to approach. Then he grabbed Anya's small body and sat her on the lap.

"Why?" The little girl remained unsatisfied with the answer she heard.

"Because it's not good. It could be the person you hug that's the bad guy who's gonna hurt you." Dimitri got the answer.

Anya was silent, and she seemed to be thinking.

"Yes, maybe they're the bad guys who'll hurt you." Galang repeated his superior's words, but his gaze was directed to the ceiling of the high waiting room.

His feelings were mixed and his mind was of course muddled. Remembering the last thing he saw that made him feel angry.

You did that intentionally? So I can look at it and keep me away? Inner monologues.

Good Ara, you won.

"Excuse me sir?" Someone pushed the door from the outside after knocking on it first.

"Yes?" Not responding immediately.

"It looks like we can fly now?" A pilot came out the door.

"Have it died down?" Dimitrie asked.

"It's Sir."

"Is it safe? If it's not safe we can wait a few more hours." The man said.

"Sir Sir."

"You sure?"

"Very sure." replied the pilot.

"You know, my family's safety is more important, so don't mess around with this." Dimitri warned.

"A hundred percent safe sir. The storm is far away, European air traffic conditions are normal, and the condition of the aircraft is very good" explained the pilot, reassuring.

"Well then, you're the expert here, aren't you?" Dimitri dropped Anya from his lap, then he got up.

Then they prepare to leave.

***

"Are you sure there's nothing left?" They boarded a plane with the Nikolai Group logo that was ready to fly.

"Everything is." Galang replied, leading his superior family up the stairs.

"Related?" Rania interrupted.

"What else is it?" React error.

"Nothing you want to wait for?"

"Who?"

"I don't know, maybe ...."

"There is no meaning waiting for someone who does not want to wait. Waste of time." said Galang while pulling Zenya for him to carry.

"Hurry, the storm will come back and you can't go home. Could Nikolai's fucked up the Group?" He sped up his pace chasing after Dimitri who was already waiting above.

"Why do you always argue?"

"The wife of the Father began." Galang immediately entered past his superior, then reached the nearest seat.

He sat his Zenya down and made sure he was well, as did Anya and her two nannies.

"Everything's been?" he said, when all passengers are ready in their seats.

Then he sat down after instructing the pilot to fly their plane immediately.

***

Amara half jumped from the taxi that took her with Piere. He immediately ran into the airport area which was quite crowded that night.

After news that several flights had been delayed by the storm, including Nikolai Group's aircraft, he immediately launched to catch Galang.

"Where ... where?" The girl looked around. I wish there was a face she knew.

"Piere!" Amara yelled at her classmate.

The man immediately asked the information center, then returned after getting word.

"They ...."

"What Piere?"

He pointed to the departure gate.

"Two minutes away they were flying" he said, and Amara immediately ran in the designated direction.

"No way!" The girl half shouted.

"Sister Galang, don't go!" he said, and he almost broke through the door if only the officers hadn't stopped him.

"Please, I have to go there!" He's fondling.

But the officers did not let him.

"Please, Monsieur!"

"No Miss, you are forbidden to enter. The plane almost took off and could not be stopped. That'll mess up flight traffic."

"But Monsieur, ...."

"I'm sorry we. The plane's flying."

"What?"

Amara stared out through the large glass in front of her. And he's really late. The Nikolai Group plane to Indonesia has taken off and is flying towards home. Leaving it without making sure of the situation first.

"I'm late, Piere!" he said, and his eyelids started to heat up.

The man approached, both staring at the situation on the dark runway.

"We didn't even say goodbye to each other." Amara put her face on the big glass. She's as bothered.

"I'm sorry." Piere. And he looked at the girl who looked desperate.
