Let's just say there never was

Devan arrived at the cafe early. He did not want the person he invited to have to wait for his arrival.

He ordered a cup of coffee to relieve his saturation as there were still fifteen minutes left for his meeting.

In between waiting, he took the time to open an email via his cellphone to check the results of the work sent by Lia.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Firman approached Devan's desk. He came alone without Adit's company.

"have you waited a long time for Devan?" ask Mr. Firman made Devan surprised and switched from his phone.

"oh, sorry oom.. I was not aware of your arrival, I deliberately came early all for the wind, please sit down oom" he replied as he put the phone back into his suit.

mr. Firman sat on the bench in front of Devan who was blocked by a small table.

"do you want coffee?" he continued offering

"thank you, I just warm lemon tea" replied Mr. Firman smiling.

Devan called one of the cafe waiters to order a warm lemon tea. Soon the waiter came with a glass of lemon tea as ordered and placed it on the customer's desk.

Mr. Word drank a little lemon tea in front of him after the servant left.

"how is oom, healthy?" ask Devan

"Alhamdulillah son.oom healthy" he replied smilingly covering his pain because in fact his health had just recovered.

Mr. Firman seemed troubled by his meeting this afternoon. He is worried about meeting Devan to discuss the cancellation of the engagement again.

"sorry to interrupt oom time"

"it's okay, son, what's the matter?

"actually I want to visit the house and talk directly to the same aunt, but I have no face and feel ashamed to meet the princess oom after what I said a few days ago same oom. Forgive me oom,, I really want this matchmaking to be void, Oom don't blame Vania, this is Devan's own decision, this is purely Devan's fault. And sorry for hurting your heart." Devan said forcefully.

There was disappointment in Mr. Firman's face hearing Devan's statement. The thing he was afraid of really happened. Devan insists on canceling the arranged marriage the parents planned.

"i hope oom and aunt will find a man better than me who is suitable to be oom's daughter-in-law and can take good care of Vania" he added in a voice that sounded soft. He tried as hard as he could to say it even though his heart was so rejecting what he said.

"Oom understand son, forgive oom. oom who is wrong has forced the will" replied Mr. Firman lowered his head.

"oom what to say, oom not wrong.my mistake that from the beginning said to like the princess oom but finally I also decided this matchmaking" Devan denied.

Mr. Firman was silent. His heart is so sick. He wanted to be angry at his daughter. But considering Devan's words, he tried to accept the reality. Maybe his daughter has not been paired with his best friend's son.

"i hope all this doesn't stretch your friendship with my father. And I hope we are all as good as ever. Let's just say this matchmaking never existed" Devan added.

Mr. Firman nodded slowly. He agreed even though he felt guilty.

"once again please don't blame Vania, she's not wrong anything Oom" Devan said

"Alright, let's start all over again." said Mr. Firman with a forced smile.

Devan nodded with a wide smile. He agreed with the words of Mr. Word. He felt relieved to have conveyed what was on his mind.

They then chatted casually about work, up and down stocks and whatnot. Until I don't feel the time starting in the afternoon. Mr. Firman please say goodbye to go home because tonight there is a family meeting to discuss Adit's proposal with his girlfriend.

The two men retreat from each other to leave the cafe. Mr. Firman went first with the driver who was waiting in his car. Devan was taking an online taxi that had been booked since a few minutes before they said goodbye.

Sincerely, that word is what he is currently trying to apply even though in his heart he still does not receive if the love that he has so far pendam and soul mate that he has hoped should be buried deeply. It was too painful to remember the words of Vania the other day who accused her of looking face to face in front of her father. And all he can do right now is learn a little bit away from that family and pray that the girl he loves can live happily. Only that can make a Devan calm and without the shadow of a painful first love.

The next few days, the relationship of Vania and her papa has begun to improve since Devan talks with Mr. Firman. Vania also no longer heard her father was angry and forced her to accept arranged marriages.

This morning Vania plans to go to one of the malls to accompany Nadya to buy gifts for her sister. Nadya did not pick up Vania on her bike. He uses an online taxi service because it will be picked up by Andre when he returns home.

Arriving at the mall, they headed to the store that became his destination. Nadya buys a large doll for her sister's birthday. After paying the bill, they took a walk while looking around. Vania's gaze was fixed on a luxury watch displayed in a storefront. He believes the price is not cheap because of the output of famous brands. Nadya who paid attention to her best friend's gaze could already guess what Vania was thinking.

After getting tired of walking, they rest and enjoy food in one of the cafes in the mall while waiting for the arrival of Andre to pick him up.

Shortly afterwards Andre arrived. He joined Nadya and Vania.

"eh, I went to the toilet for a while huh" said Vania because she felt like urinating.

"want to be won?" ask Nadya

"no need, I can be alone.pity Andre's brother alone" said Vania with a smile and then walked to the toilet.

Two lovebirds at the cafe table were chatting with each other while enjoying the food they ordered.

A moment later there was someone wearing an office shirt with a full suit was approaching and patting Andre on the shoulder, making the owner look back.

"hey Devan, you're here too" asked Andre

"i had a meeting with a client, coincidentally at the cafe next door, just as I passed by you guys" Devan smiled

"on your own? or Ronald?"

"i'm the same Ronald, but he came back first because we brought our own car"

"sit down first" said Andre who was then embraced by Devan.

Devan sat in an empty chair between them.

"would I order something, brother?" ask Nadya

"no need Nad, I ate earlier, thank you"
