Happy Crying

That night Devan walked down the street after coming out of his fence to look for the mushroom chips his wife wanted. Luckily the food is easily found in the minimarket so he does not need to look far.

Given the watch on his hand that already showed the number ten, the car Devan was driving stopped right at a minimarket that was open twenty-four hours. Devan parked his car between several cars and motorcycles that had been parked there first. He quickly entered the minimarket and took some of the food he had planned before then headed to the cashier's table to pay.

After getting what he was looking for, Devan returned to his car to go home to see his wife. He handed her a bag of plastic crisps in front of Vania.

"A lot of it, mas" said Vania gasped because she saw a lot of food in front of her.

"I'll eat too" Devan replied chuckling.

Without hesitation Vania opened one of the banana chips packs and ate it. He enjoyed food that he had never touched at all. While Devan only noticed the behavior of Vania with an anxious face. Afraid something might happen to his wife.

"Kok just worried about me. Let's go eat" Vania scolded her husband.

"Look at you eating so rich it makes me full, baby. You just spend it" Devan said without ceasing to pay attention to his wife.

Hearing Devan's words, Vania greedily opened the package after pack of mushroom chips and devoured it to the end.

The night is getting late. Vania who is full is no longer strong enough to withstand her drowsiness. And Devan just shook his head in wonder at his wife's behavior that was not as usual. Devan tells Vania to lie down and sleep next to Juna. While he prefers to sleep on the sofa next to the bed so as not to disturb his son's sleep.

In the morning, as promised last night, Vania goes to the hospital with Juna escorted by Devan. They see an obgyn specialist to confirm Niko's statement about Vania's pregnancy.

After arriving at the destination, Devan and Vania follow the directions and instructions from the hospital. He also went to see Nisa's doctor for a checkup. After a series of questions and answers, Nisa's doctor asked Vania to lie down on the bed that had been provided so that the doctor could more easily examine her stomach with an ultrasound device. The device was rotated on the surface of Vania's abdomen that had been rubbed with gel by nurses who helped Nisa doctor. Nisa's doctor's movements stopped at a point where there was a picture the size of a bean seed. Yes, Nisa's doctor confirmed the pregnancy of Vania who is now six weeks old. While continuing to check, Nisa's doctor explained in detail about Vania's pregnancy.

Devan, who was sitting right next to Vania's head, smiled and rubbed his wife's hair. He was so happy with the surprise the doctor had just told him. Vania was just silent and kept staring at the large monitor screen in front of her. The woman seems confused and has not been fully aware of the explanation of Nisa doctor, rather she does not believe in the pregnancy that is now experienced. Not wanting to be disappointed, she dashed all hope of having a baby from her own womb.

"Darling, you're pregnant. We will soon have children" said Devan softly and so happily. He kissed his wife. Wipe out all her happiness there.

"You're not kidding me, are you?" ask Vania not to believe it.

"No, hon. Juna will have a sister" he replied as he glanced at Juna who was sitting in front of Nisa's doctor's desk.

Suddenly, Vania's tears came upon hearing her husband's words. This time it was not tears of loss like the previous ones. The tears of happiness that he had long awaited.

Devan nodded with a happy smile.

Nisa's doctor asked Vania and Devan to return to their previous seats after the examination was completed. The doctor gave directions to the future mother who is now back as her patient.

"Given the pregnancy of the previous lady Vania was very weak, I suggest to be more careful. Do not do too many activities that can cause fatigue. Expand eating foods that have a lot of nutrition and are good for fetal development. Don't mind too much. Because the emotions of a pregnant woman can affect her fetus".

"But my wife's pregnancy is fine, right, doc?" ask Devan who is holding Juna.

"Fetal conditions are in good condition, where pregnant mothers are also healthy. So there is no problem in this" the doctor replied as he turned his gaze towards Vania with a smile. "And this is a prescription of vitamins and calcium that must be consumed for fetal health" he continued to give a photo of the results of USG and a sheet of paper containing prescription drugs that they must redeem at the hospital pharmacy.

"Thank you very much, doctor" replied Vania.

After bidding farewell to Nisa's doctor, Devan asks Vania and Juna to sit in the waiting room, while he heads to the pharmacy to make up for the medicine.

While waiting for the pharmacist to prepare his order, Devan gave news of his wife's pregnancy to his parents, mother-in-law and foster parents. Because he was so happy, he did not want to miss the happiness itself. Especially to his father who had always craved a grandson even though they never revealed it to maintain the feelings of his daughter-in-law. Mother Dewi and Satria's father were very happy when they heard the news about her daughter-in-law's pregnancy. Until they decided to take a flight right then and there to express their happiness in person by meeting their son and daughter-in-law.

"Drink first", take Devan after returning with a plastic bag containing medicine in his hand. He gave two bottles of mineral water he had just bought in the cafeteria next to the pharmacy to Juna and Vania.

Vania helps Juna open the bottle cap that was previously opened by her husband to make it easier for her. Then she changed to her own bottle. He said thank you and drank it.

"Let's go home. Sherin will soon be home to pick up Juna", with Devan after seeing his wife and son finish drinking.

"Why is Juna only briefly with us?"

"I can take her to Jakarta because today her mom has business here, baby. Otherwise I can bring him here" Devan explained. "Already, come on" he continued to extend a hand towards Vania to help her stand up. Then he turned to grab Juna and carry her.

Arriving at home, the happy couple was greeted modestly by Vania's extended family and Juna's biological parents. They were all deeply moved by the happiness Devan and Vania were experiencing.

"Congratulations, sweetheart. Mama is so happy. Always take care of your health" said mama Karina hugging her daughter with a cry haru.

Adit and his wife also offered congratulations and some advice to his sister. So is Sherin who is no less enthusiastic about hearing the pregnancy of her best friend. Sherin is a witness of all the suffering of Vania during her illness in Surabaya. He was so proud of his friend's patience and struggle to the point now.
