Love Vania
episode 38 Be Patient

Devan drove his car home. In the middle of the road he saw a mother-in-law about the age of her mother was sitting on the side of the road holding her knees like she was in pain. He thinks it might be a hit-and-run victim. Soon he pulled his car over and stopped not far from his position. He got out of his car and approached the middle-aged woman.

"mom's okay?" ask Devan

"it's okay, son"

"but mom's knees are bleeding, mom's a hit-and-run victim?" devan continued after seeing the blood on the mother's hand

"it's just a blister son.later in love red medicine also better" he replied smiling.

"where's mom going?"

"my mom went to the pharmacy. Just want to cross, suddenly there is a car passing very fast, mother was shocked and fell, but it's okay"

"which mother's house?"

"mother's house on X street son.."

"can know what the cure will be me who banyu mother buy, after that I take the mother home"

"don't kid, thank you" replied the mother trying to get up, but she had trouble supporting her legs to stand up.

"look at my mother's difficulties, let me help you"

She was desperate and could no longer resist. He handed Devan a piece of paper with a recipe and some money.

"this much ma'am?" devan asked after taking a quick look at the recipe that was written as much as five lines despite not being able to read it because the writing was quite messy for him

The mother nodded her head slowly and smiled.

"all right, I'll wait here for a minute" Devan said as he stood up and left his mother

Devan crossed the road to the pharmacy located across the street. He entered the pharmacy and beediri in front of a table commonly used to hand over prescriptions. One of the pharmacists approached him and asked for an order. Devan showed a piece of the recipe to the pharmacist on duty.

"wait a minute, please sit down first when I'm done I will call" said the pharmacist pointed to the seat behind Devan who then entered the medicine room to take the order.

Devan followed the pharmacist's orders to sit in the waiting chair. He waited long enough for the pharmacist to return.

Suddenly the pharmacist came out with a bag of medicine and placed it on the table.

"mas, this is it"

Devan immediately stood up to the table. He was stunned to see a bag of plastic full of medicine more than he had imagined.

"sorry mb, if I may know what this drug is?" ask Devan curiously

"this drug is commonly consumed for patients with cancer mas, when viewed from the dose it seems to be advanced cancer patients"

"cancer mb?" Devan was surprised to hear the apothecary's words.

"yes, mas"

"how much mb in total?"

The pharmacist mentioned the total amount of medicine Devan bought. The number is not small. Even the money the mother gave was not enough to buy half of the medicine. Devan was sad to remember the mother's condition.

"so how do you like cash or swipe?" asked the pharmacist because he saw that the buyer was silent

"i'm sorry to use a credit card" Sevan said as he reached into the wallet in his pants pocket and took a black card for him to hand over to the pharmacist.

The mother received the plastic from Devan's hands. "what's the money less son?" he said he was curious because he saw so much medicine.

Devan shook his head softly while smiling "take back mom's money"

Devan hands back the money the mother didn't use to pay.

"but son"

"it's mother's fortune, accept it" Devan replied cutting

"let me drive home" asked Devan to extend his hand to help the mother stand up.

The mother returned Devan's hand and tried to stand up. He walked to the car by Devan. Devan opened the car door and asked the mother to come in and sit on the front bench next to the steering wheel.

After the mother had sat up well, Devan walked around the car to get in the car through the door near the wheel.

"thank you very much son" the mother said after Devan started the engine.

"sama ma'am" she replied, turning her head and smiling. Devan plugged in gas and drove his car at moderate speed.

"by the way what's your name, son? you've helped me a lot and I forgot to ask what your name is"

"just call me Devan ma'am, if mom?" answer Devan while focusing on driving

"i'm Wati, where do you live, son?"

" i live in a residential complex on X bu street, it's just that I'm rarely home"

"why?"

"i have to finish my study abroad, ma'am, because there is a one-month holiday so I can go back to Jakarta"

"that's it.you're great, son" said Mrs Wati.

"thank you so much mom, I feel like I still need a lot to learn"

Bu Wati smiled looking at Devan.

"bu Wati, I'm sorry in advance, if I may know who that much medicine is for mom?" continued Devan

Bu Wati fell silent, he lowered his head and crystal droplets fell from his eyes.

"sorry if my question offends my mother" Devan added, feeling guilty for making mom cry.

"it's okay, son, mother just can't accept the reality. This is for the only son of the mother, she has stage three brain cancer" replied bu Wati sobbing

" his son is a child?"

"he's grown up. His age might not be much different from that of Nak Devan. He's still in college, son. He was a good boy, he never once hurt his mother, there were too many sacrifices he made for his mother and father. He even worked part-time to help cover our daily needs. I can't bear to see her in pain when her disease relapses, I'm afraid of anything happening to her, I still want to be with her longer. we as parents can do nothing but pray for her recovery" the cry of Wati's mother broke. He covered his face with both hands.

"patient mother ma'am, whatever happens, be assured of God's best power. We as humans can only follow it. We pray that the mother's child will soon recover from his illness" said Devan as his left hand stroked the shoulder of Wati to calm down, while his right hand focused on holding the steering wheel

"may I see you, ma'am?" imbuhdevan

"may child.it is with pleasure that Nak Devan does not mind. I'll introduce you to my son"

Devan's car drove down the street to the address shown by Ms. Wati. He slowed his speed as he approached Wati's bu house and stopped right at a simple house with a yard that was not so spacious but could accommodate two parked cars.
