The sound of footsteps entering the meeting room made everyone who was there turn their eyes towards the door, not least Devan and Vania who had stood up to welcome the arrival of clients.
A man entered the meeting room with his subordinates. Devan smiled in welcome. In contrast to his wife, the newly arrived black-shaven man looked familiar to make Vania surprised and scared. She held her husband's arm and grabbed him. Devan who realized immediately turned to Vania.
"What's wrong with you, baby?" devan asked Vania half-whispering.
But Vania was just silent in fear with a trembling body. Even now she rewinds her steps hiding behind her husband's burly body.
"How are you, Mr Devan? Nice to meet you and your lovely wife again" the man said with a grinning smile.
Devan squinted his eyes and began to become suspicious of the man's words because he himself felt that he had only met the young businessman for the first time.
"Sorry, did we know each other before?" ask Devan.
"Of course, let alone with this wife of yours" he answered by pulling one of his lips and glancing at Vania.
Devan turned to his wife who was trembling in fear. Even part of his face was already filled with cold sweat despite being in the air-conditioned room. Devan touches Vania's fingers gripping her arms. He meant to keep his wife calm.
"Who are you really? Why are you freaking my wife out" asked Devan.
"Calm down, sir. We relax for a moment. Don't you want to let your great guest sit down?" said the man with ease.
"Alright, please sit down" said Devan hesitantly inviting his guests.
Everyone sat back in the chair provided. Even with the guy in black glasses. He chose to sit right opposite Vania who was blocked by a large rectangular table.
Vania grew more frightened and did not dare to show her face because of the man before her. Even now Devan heard faintly the sound of his wife's sobbing from behind his back.
"Do you want to wait in my room, baby?" ask her slowly to Vania and Vania nodded.
"Why do you want to go, Miss. Doesn't it matter if you accompany your beloved husband to meet his client" said the man because he heard the chat of a married couple in front of him.
"Sorry, sir. I don't understand your intent. It's better to just get to the point" Devan replied with a cold look.
"You're in a hurry, sir. Oo yes forget, this cooperation will be very lucky for your company" he said with a tone of disdain.
"Just introduce yourself and tell me what your main goal is" Devan said, as he became upset.
"Well since you keep pushing, I'll introduce myself" he said, who then removed the sunglasses that were coiled around his face and gave them to his subordinates.
Devan scrunched his forehead looking at the man who was now in front of him. His face was familiar, but he could not remember who.
"Do you remember who I am? I'm Leo, the guy you've been in jail for the past few years" leo said with a face of emotion in light of Devan's treatment of two years in prison for sexual harassment and rape. And what makes him angry is that no one can guarantee his freedom because everything is arranged by Devan. So he and Alex were forced to languish in iron bars for two years. Unlike Alex who did not dare to act to take revenge on Devan because of his family's income in the auspices of SA Group. Leo, who was able to continue his parents' business to grow rapidly, chose to avenge his heartache on Devan.
"The leo? in prison?" devan repeated Leo's words. He thought back and remembered the past. "Just right my wife is scared to see baj*ngan like you" Devan said coldly.
"Now tell me what you want" said Devan trying to be as calm as possible.
"Simple only. This business will bring you great profits, but not to me. The benefits I will get are ordinary. So I want one condition" Leo said casually
"What are the conditions"
"Easy... Hand over your wife. I'll sign this contract right away"
"Shut your mouth. I don't like the way you use business for revenge" Devan said with emotions he could no longer stand.
Devan clasped his wife's finger tightly around his arm. The woman was getting scared and crying. Feeling very sorry, Devan asks Ronald to take Vania out of the room and take her to his study to be accompanied by Lia.
"Why should you send your wife away? You scared?" leo asked with a disdainful laugh.
Devan no longer cared about the ridicule of his opponent. He was silent while waiting for his wife to leave the room. He waited for Ronald to return to make sure his wife was safe.
"Have you?" devan asked Ronald who had just returned. Ronald answered him with a slow nod.
"If your goal is to work together just to destroy my household, you're wrong" Devan told Leo.
"Are you sure? Even I can give you whatever you want, as long as Vania is mine. A trillion? Five trillion? Or a big asset?"
Devan gritted his teeth from the emotion of hearing the humiliation Leo had done.
"My wife is not an item that can be exchanged for money. Just keep your treasure".
Leo laughs. "Haha... No need to be a hypocrite, Mr. Devan. I know you urgently need this cooperation to develop your great project London".
"No matter how important this partnership is. But you need to remember, I'll never approve of what you want. And regarding this cooperation, forget it. I don't need to cooperate with baj*ngan like you".
"You dare refuse a request from a great person like me" Leo said angrily.
"I don't care who you are or how great you are. But this is my territory. I don't like you acting all you want. And since this cooperation will never take place, I ask you to leave this building" Devan said, expelling Leo and his subordinates to leave.
"How dare you kick me out" angry Leo with glaring his eyes.
"certain. I don't want bad guys like you to linger in my company" Devan said.
Devan stood up from his seat and directed his hand to let Leo go.
"Remember, Mr. Devan. This whole thing isn't over. I will never accept this insult. I'll make a calculation with you" Leo said furiously and stood up. And then went past Devan with a pile of emotions and anger in his face.
Devan no longer cares. He no longer wants to answer the words of arrogant men who are not important to him.
