Day by day passed. It doesn't feel like it's getting close to the week of the graduation exam. One day after school, I walked with Alya to each other's homes. Fortunately our house was in the same direction until there was an intersection separating my house and his house. I chatted with Alya, talking about the exam preparation.
“Three more days of exams. Have you prepared it?” alya asked with her hand holding the rope of her school bag that she was carrying.
“Iya. I have to get good grades and graduate with the best grades as one of my preparations later,” I replied.
“In this near future. I will not leave the house to focus on studying. You too, right?” he asked with his head facing forward and occasionally looked at me who was next to him.
I replied to her by nodding her while watching my steps. Suddenly it hit my head to convey what I really wanted to tell him. Maybe it's the right time.
“Alya there is something I really want to tell you,” I said then and made the look of his face smile.
“What's up?” the answer was full of smiles and pleasure.
“A—I... After graduating later I have to move to the city because of my father's work,” answered me who was a little restrained for fear of making him disappointed.
Justright. At that instant, his face turned sad and a little disappointed.
“I've already noticed. After graduation, everyone went to the city to find work,” replied as he lowered his head and was sad.
“No. I didn't intend to. We won't be there long. Of course I'll come back here,” I assured him.
“Promise,”I replied full of confidence and nodded to him.
Suddenly he hugged me tightly. I was just quietly flabbergasted and did not dare to hug her back. The warmth I felt stuck all over my body. I just put my hand parallel to my body and didn't dare touch it because I had never been like this before. Alya cried and wet my uniform and I reluctantly told her to stop hugging me. I'm ashamed that anyone else saw it.
“Ma—Sorry. It is not nice to see people here,” I replied with an embarrassed and sad expression of being one.
“Sorry. I can't help it,” replies and releases her hug on me.
After that we continued our journey. Alya was still thinking about the incident while wiping the tears on her cheeks. I occasionally took him to calm him down.
During the return trip we had a light chat and Alya told him what he would do after he graduated. After graduation Alya will continue Synnefa's mission with Ellie, Ethan, and Gras to achieve that goal. The determination we have spoken must be resolved and faced whatever the challenge. He also explained that he would one day open a cafe in this village. Because people here often drink coffee before the move, but there is not a single place to drink coffee here.
Word by word, sentence by sentence. All the stories that we shared with each other made us not realize that in front of the intersection there is already a sign that I and Alya will be different directions. At the crossroads Alya and I separated and went home to each other. I who was stepping my legs occasionally look back at Alya from a distance with my head down and sad. What I said made him sad and disappointed. But at least it'll be better than I didn't tell her.
I saw my house from a distance. I deliberately slowed my footsteps to make sure the wet clothes were dry. Today's weather is quite blistering that makes my clothes dry faster. In front of the house, I saw my clothes were dry. Mercifully. Then I went inside and studied and prepared all for the exam.
In the near future, I focus and actively study and repeat all the lessons that have been taught in school. There are previously given grilles to learn. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow is a holiday before the graduation exam arrives. Sometimes I remember all the things that I have been through with my friends. During the night I prepared everything to get the grades I wanted. With my good graduation results, it seems like it can be used as one of the preparation supplies before I move to the city.
