Birthplace

The dawn has awakened. The noise of the crowd started to sound. I got up from my bed and prepared to leave. After tidying up and having breakfast I said goodbye to my parents and then went to the airport.

The route I took to get to Mennora was the same as when I went from Mennora to Centra. Only this time it turned from Centra towards Mennora. I spent a lot of time traveling to rest.

After many hours of travel, I finally arrived at my birthplace. I had a meeting with my team on the train before it finally arrived. Shortly afterwards there was the sound of a car wheel scream indicating the train was going to stop.

We set our feet out of the carriage and headed straight for the only inn in the village. Some of my team want to rest first. While me and some of them are preparing for the inspection of this village.

An hour later but we haven't found the place we wanted. I didn't see my friends either. It occurred to me what they were doing right now. I wanted to find them and chat for a while, but my job wasn't done.

Some time later came a part of my team and they told us that they had found a suitable place. We set our feet where they said they were.

As I walked, I heard the sound of someone shouting my name. It turns out that he was none other than a tool shop seller. I responded too.

“Malka! How are you?” his yell.

“Good!”

“For a long time no see!”

“While there hasn't been a year, you know.!” my reply was tingled with laughter. Then my friend asked me in wonder.

“That was your friend?”

“Iya,” answer.

“You stay here?” ask one of them again.

“This is my little place,” I replied.

We chatted together as we walked to that place. The green panorama of the countryside. The inhaled air feels fresh and soothing, much different from the air in urban areas. Along those steps again they were invisible in front of me.

“Are they busy?” muttered.

At the same time I saw my house first. The house already looked a little worn out and there were already shrubs growing in the courtyard. The grass had grown quite tall and then in an instant I was reminded of all the memories in this place. I became unfocused and accidentally bumped into someone.

“Ah! Sorry!” lontark.

“Not why, I also ask ma—”

“Malka!” yelled at the man and shocked me.

“Gras? I finally saw you!” reply happy. Instantly the atmosphere became fluid and we chatted with each other.

“Over time we can't see! You're on your own?” my many.

“Yes, I just got from the gathering place earlier. How're you? Tumben once you return in neat clothes.”

“Yah... I have a job here... Hehe...” Gras be curious about me.

“Wah! What job is it?”

“I work at Knox.” Company

“Knox?” Then came the voice of someone from my team calling out to me.

“Malka! Hurry on! Our time is not long!”

“Good I'll be here soon!” sahutku.

“Sorry, Gras. I'm busy right now. I'm so glad to see you. Hopefully we can meet again later.”

“No problem, I understand you. I'll tell Alya and the others to give you a letter.”

“OK! Bye!”

Shortly after walking, we finally arrived at the place in question. It appears that some members of my team are checking and sampling to be further tested in the laboratory later. Jack who was here first came to me.

“You met friends?” ask Jack.

“Yes, I met Gras. You?”

“I didn't see anybody earlier. Just a greeting from the community here,” he replied.

Then a team member came up to us and showed us the results that came out of the tool.

“Just miss about zero comma only, Sir.” I'm still not used to being called “Pak”.  The Jack beside me was just listening.

“Alright, enter into the data and do as planned.”

“Ready, Sir!” The man went back to doing his job. I went back to Jack and spoke for a while before I finally got on with work. The atmosphere of the field became crowded with noise like there was a development project.

Unbeknownst to anyone, I actually carried a small device that could convert sky energy into electrical energy. I am still confused about how this tool works. I'm getting away from people. I put the device on the ground. It says in the instructions that I just need to stick the base of the tool into the ground.

“Is it like this?” mind wonder. Then I turned on the device and noticed it. Every now and then I look around to make sure that no one is aware of what I'm doing.

It works like a sucker, and I don't even think it's any different from a vacuum cleaner. I don't know what he sucked. It can't be just air, right? But when I brought my finger closer there was no sensation like being sucked in. So what is being sucked?

I tried to make smoke from paper that had been burned a little. Surprisingly, the smoke was just drifting in the wind as usual. So, what is meant by celestial energy? I can't understand it at all. There has also been no official statement from the results of this research tool. I was also asked by the Head of Research to participate in researching this tool, but until now I have not been able to draw any conclusions.

I realized that I could not linger on this secret research. In the end, I ended the experiment for the device today. Suddenly Jack came to me again. Thankfully I have cleared everything up.

“Everything is ready, just re-validate. If it is finished, the next pre-construction stage can be carried out tomorrow.”

“Good, thanks for the report,” reply.

The twilight sky had been seen and we were tidying up the tools. Since getting off the train, I have not visited the inn where we stayed overnight. Several other members had been there since the beginning as well as carrying all of our luggage. Before leaving the field we sterilize around and then gather first.

“Alright, we will gather again after dinner at the lodging gathering room. We'll discuss our work tomorrow. Understand?”

“Understanding, Sir!”

“Bubar, go!”

I watched them all go out of the field. I became the last. While enjoying the view, I took a slow step. Unknowingly the sky had started to darken and the lights were already on. The life that I see today is no different since I last left this village.

But I didn't see any of my friends at all, other than Gras. Are they busy? I don't know anything that happened after leaving them back then. I felt a little guilty for not telling anything while I was in Centra.

After thinking about my friends, a glance flashed through my mind about this tool I was carrying. Still not solved. Maybe I can think about it now while walking. Sky energy, it seems like I've seen it in a book about the sky that I've read about. I don't know for sure, but the term feels familiar to me. Maybe I'll read it at the inn later.

Again I did not pay attention around which turned out to be very quiet. The shops are closed, the noise is no longer heard.

“Looks like I had to gogega—” Suddenly I was pulled by someone into a small alley. My gaze is faint because it is too dark here.

“Who are you—” My mouth is immediately grabbed by his hand. I can't put up a fight. It was as if my body had been locked by him.

“Sshh! Relax, relax!” whispered.

A female? It's obvious that it's a female voice. But he seemed to be very good at martial arts. Is he one of my friends? Nope, no. He shouldn't have treated me like this. I don't know, my head is dizzy with my own doubts. I finally calmed down his words. He took his hand out of my mouth.

“Who are you?” my question is a bit loud.

“Sshh! I told you not to be noisy!” He lit a flashlight and then highlighted his face in the darkness. I jumped in shock.

“Ellie? Why are you doing this?”

“There's something I want to talk to you about.”
