Night Battle

Crowds like a sea of people lined up to step away from the city of Westra, which is not far from the city center of Centra. Many trucks run slowly with weaponry in them. I was with some of my friends in the back row. We split up into two teams.

“It feels like there will be a big war only..” muttered Leora.

I feel very anxious at this moment. I never thought it would happen like this. Many of the children and mothers who cheered gave encouragement to all of us. Our steps stopped when a child came to us.

“Sister! Is Big Brother going against the people in town?” His face was worried.

“Not all. We have no intention of fighting them. Just want to protect the sky and the environment,” replied Ellie smiling to calm her down.

“I can't help much! May you like my gift,” he said cheerfully as he stuck out his hands with riunbread bread. Leora accepted it then fell silent staring at the bread.

“Symbol of unity after separation.”.

“Thank you very much! We are happy to receive it,” I told the little boy.

“Sama-sama! Big brother all have to come back again, yes!”

“Calm down, everything will be fine,” Ellie replied as she rubbed her head.

Continuing on, a journey that is quite tiring than riding a vehicle. The sound of helicopter propellers is getting louder. My gaze was stolen to see it as it flashed right above my head.

“They're on our side, right?” many wonder.

“Sure. There are many volunteers from former soldiers and mercenaries,” Ellie replied.

“This is really war...” muttered.

Military vehicles are also not out of my sight. While we were walking, Gras was already starting to feel exhausted. Our steps slowed down to accompany it.

“While we just walked, you know,” said Ellie.

“Jalan foot so far has broken the record of my lifetime,” reply Gras.

We decided to stop and justify the breath for a moment. At that time I heard the news that was broadcast on the front television of the stall.

“Centra's atmosphere is currently on high alert status. Many residents are advised not to leave their homes or evacuate to nearby cities. The main road on the southern border is crowded by vehicles leading out of Centra. While the eastern side border is closed and already filled by the royal army.”

Someone was making a speech in front of a glass screen that was none other than the King I had met long ago.

“The current situation is already of concern to all parties. We will not hesitate to crush anyone who attacks us. If you still have a heart, I ask you to step back wisely. I don't want much of our brothers' blood flooding the city.”

I realize very well that the current condition is really terrible. Suddenly there was doubt within me. I want to repeat the time so that none of this happens. I don't want to see the people I see falling in the city.

“You why, Malka?” ask Gras.

“A—Ah! It's nothing!” reply surprised.

“You think about all this?” continued Ellie. I looked at both my hands while looking. “Do we have to be like this?”

“Ah, you confused me to answer it,” reply Ellie.

A truck stopped near us. Gras seemed excited after noticing it.

“Let's just hitchhike!” barbarically.

In the end, we followed his request. I also think that it will shorten the time and not spend much energy as well. We sat down with noisy weapons when shaken.

“All these weapons will be shared?” ask Kellos.

“Yes, the more weapons the better,” Ellie replied.

“Guns shutting down though?” my continue.

Ellie just kept quiet hearing me. The atmosphere became awkward, I didn't know what to do either. I just kept quiet by myself. Unconsciously I fell asleep until then the sound of the brake squeaked.

“We have arrived,” Leora told me.

We got off the truck at a place not far from the border. The truck continued to travel to the border. We faced a ladder to the culvert.

“No longer...” muttered Leora. He recalled the stinking underground channel in Pharlouse.

“The only way without having to fight them,” My reply.

“You know this road?” ask Ellie to me.

“I know this path from someone. I only know that there is indeed a room in Knox Corp that is directly connected to this channel.”

We're going through these culverts. Somehow I felt ordinary, while some of them were nauseous and even vomited. Leora who was once still not strong with this place.

This place is very quiet. There was only the sound of footrests, shady water, and mouse squeaks that often shocked Leora and Lena. Many times I hear the sound of my own heart beating.

“Your shout makes me almost hanging,” I said.

“You're the one who didn't, yeah, Leora,” Ellie continued.

“M—Sorry!”

His voice echoed very loudly. He immediately closed his mouth.

“Do not shout!” my whiskey.

“Sorry..”

I felt a commotion right above us, but it was very faint. It could just be my feeling. I don't know where I am myself.

“What is my feeling? Above is like a battle,” Ellie said.

“I think so too, but it's possible that this sounds from the culverts,” reply me.

“We just go ahead first. Me and Leora can't stand it,” said Gras.

The flashlight became the light of our guide in this very dark place. It's like a labyrinth. I'm just using the map that guy gave me. “Hopefully we don't get lost,” hope I'm in heart.

Instantly the ceiling in front of us collapsed with the sound of a terrible explosion. We hid behind a wall. When I peeked there, I saw no one.

“We are under a real battlefield..” muttered Leora.

“I don't think there were any casualties there,” I said.

The more it goes inside, the smell that is smelled here is also getting stronger. I think I know where these culverts lead. I laid them all off.

“What's up, Malka?” asked Gras in wonder.

“Start now wear this. Keep walking on the edge and do not get exposed to any liquid here,”.

“Mask gas?” ellie was confused.

“Iya, do not let go,” I replied.

The channels we are currently passing through are much different than before. Dirty water that does not look dark, but full of color. There are many dead rats infested by flies. Leora was very nauseous and wanted to open her mask, but I forbade her.

“Hold a little more,” I said.

Until finally we arrived in a room full of tubes and liquids scattered. My guess is right…

“We've arrived at Knox Corp's chemical disposal room. Keep wearing mask.”

When you get out of that room. I think we're already in the hallway to the research site. “It's safe. You can remove the mask now.”

Sleeking through the hallway, we found a door open. It looks like a very large room from the outside. The walls of this passageway were filled with channels that carried a strange liquid into it.

“Aaaa! Aarrgghh! Aaaaa!”

We were shocked to hear a very loud scream. The engine sounds accompanied it. I panicked and was scared at the same time. Instantly it became silent and inaudible that gripping voice again.

“Synthetic Multi-Ether Injection Successfully.”

The sound was heard throughout the room. I just heard that term.

“What is it, Malka?” ask Leora.

“I don't know either,” I replied.

We also looked behind the wall. I was surprised to hear that.

“What is the person in the middle of it Knox?” ask Ellie.

“Iya, it's Knox,” I replied.

“Who is he watching? There are many hoses stuck to the person's body.” continued Leora felt disgusted to see it.

“He's Harry Knox. His son.”

We who peeked sideways suddenly both fell because Gras who was not strong enough to hold himself. Everyone in there turned to us. Knox looked at me smiling.

“Finally you showed up too…

Malka..”
