24. Slum Inn

Someone suddenly stood beside him. Rey looked back to find Kendrick smiling at her. Soon her cheeks were red. Rey could never bear to see Kendrick smile. He looked embarrassed. Kendrick hugged and lifted Rey's chin. Then kissed her lips before disappearing.

The cheers stopped. The crowd began to disperse. Two people passed out on the ground. Asgar stood pulling the ground from his clothes. He glanced at the frightened young man leaving without a care for his two bodyguards.

Asgar immediately returned to where Rey was. Rey extended her hand towards Asgar. A beam of light surrounded Asgar's body for a moment. Asgar felt the warm flow restore his strength. The bruises also disappeared. Soon Asgar half-bent on thanking me. Rey nodded a little.

Rey intends to find lodging behind the market. Asgar asked a merchant. The merchant pointed at a rather shabby building.

Asgar shook his head. Rey also looked at him. But Rey stays there with Asgar following her. When they entered the courtyard, a servant came to offer to take care of their horses.

Asgar looked doubtfully at Rey. Rey smiled a little. Rey and Asgar step inside. The owner of the inn was an old man. His wife and daughter-in-law take Rey and Asgar to their respective rooms.

Before taking a break, Rey asked for dinner for 7 people. He gave some gold pieces to the innkeeper's wife. Then Rey rested while waiting for dinner.

Asgar went out to check around the inn. He was a little worried about the safety around him. He also checked the horses if they were fed to the innkeeper. Then he sat down in the guest room after making sure everything was fine.

Dinner time's coming. The waiter and the son-in-law of the inn prepared a lot of food at the long dining table.

The innkeeper's wife immediately went to Rey's room. He knocked on the door slowly .

" Miss, wake up. Time for dinner "

" Yes ........ "

" But no one else is staying here except the two of you, Miss "

" I know, call your wife, daughter-in-law and two servants to eat with us now "

" Eh, b.. okay ... Miss "

Asgar called the male servants who took care of their horses. Families and lodging servants stood in line before being invited to sit down.

" No need to be confused. There's something I need to talk to all of you about after this. Sit down first and eat the full one "

Asgar nodded his head. The innkeeper glanced at his wife and nodded his head. Same with the daughter-in-law and the servants. They sit awkwardly and start eating together.

In between meals, Rey praised the inn's wife's cooking. He suggested that the inn's wife open a restaurant on the side of the inn. He also asked the owner to paint the inn and decorate the inn in red to attract attention.

Then Rey took out a bag of gold coins and gave it to the innkeeper. Soon the innkeeper knelt down followed by his wife and daughter-in-law.

" Thank you, Miss. You're really nice. May you be blessed with happiness and long life "

" There's no need to kneel, Old Man. Use it properly, add some workers if necessary. Don't forget to look for people to add security "

" Good Miss, I'll do it as Miss advises "

Then Rey went back to the room and rested.
