A large basement area that serves as a vehicle parking lot is the end of the lane through which Ardana and Paramitha pass. Both were held back while making sure the situation remained safe. Some armoured fighting vehicles dominated by pansers and ten-tire trucks were just loosened in conditions that could be said to still be quite good. It seems to have been unused for a long time. The green and brown camouflage tint on all the vehicles was slightly disturbed by large scratches and blood stains on the windshield.
“Do not go far!” Ardana glanced at Paramitha then moved back. The girl followed him very closely while remaining vigilant.
Ardana began to inspect one by one the vehicles they approached. In every armored car whose doors were open, several bodies of soldiers were found still sitting in the driver's seat or trying to get out. There are also those who are in a position such as falling down or falling down like trying to avoid. Ardana had just realized that almost every corpse he found had a scar pierced by a sharp object in the head or neck. Some even tore wide to the chest. Thousands of bullet casings and dozens of firearms scattered to be a sign of something that happened to take the lives of the unfortunate soldiers.
“Hah!”
The body of an officer with a broken and crushed jaw on top of a turret panzer suddenly fell drooping near Ardana. The unexpected little surprise made him jump backwards almost past Paramitha. Only from the head to the waist that almost hit him, while the other body parts are still stuck in the hatch turret. An incredible stench instantly spread.
“Be careful, Mitha. Geez, the smell is so pungent like this!” Ardana tightly closed his nose and mouth with his left hand, while his right hand reacted to pointing weapons in various directions.
A few meters in front of the row of abandoned vehicles around them, there is a two-story building that is quite interesting curiosity. Fused with a hallway wall consisting of a layer of solid concrete. From the broken window glass on the second floor embossed the bodies of other soldiers in the position of the upside down and dried up, barely staying bones only.
Ardana and Paramitha approached the building while looking in all directions. After arriving at the iron door that opened inwards, the young man pushed him slowly. The sound of rust rubbing makes it uncomfortable. Paramitha preceded the entrance into a very messy room with a lot of paper scattered on the floor and tables, blending in with the toppled chairs. Ardana sighed while staring at the nanar. His two eyes then blocked alerted to every corner.
“If you want to check something here, you just do it now. I will be guarding the door,” he said to Paramitha without turning a single look. This young man then stood at the door while alternately watching the girl and the row of panzer that faced directly with the building.
The opportunity was also used by him to re-try to contact Ilham. Many times he pressed the connection trigger button to get the frequency and network that can be reached but the result is nil. Again a subtle rustling sound was heard.
Ardana let herself sit slumped by the door with both legs straightened forward. Paramitha began to busy opening every closet shelf and table. The girl looked seriously sorting out some papers containing something important. Every time he found it he separated it on the table that was right in front of the window.
“Dan, get here!” paramitha's orders. The girl seemed to frown looking at one of the sheets of paper in her hand.
“What's up?” ardana asked as she walked over to the girl.
Paramitha did not reply, only handing the paper in her hand to Ardana. When seen clearly, there was a simple map with a starting point in the room. Ardana concluded it so because when viewed from above it seemed to be in accordance with where they were. There was a gap towards the other room behind him, covered by something that looked like a closet marked with an X-shaped symbo.
Ardana looked behind them. There was a vault that was tightly closed. This young man then tried to forcefully open it by hitting the padlock that bound his door with a shotgun-popping punch.
DRAKKS!
DRAKKS!
“Still difficult to open,” complained after finding the lock cabinet door lock did not leave a broken mark even though it had been hit by the stock of the weapon many times.
The absence of gouging objects that can be used again, makes Ardana interested in using other ways that are simpler. As if knowing what her lover was going to do, Paramitha retreated slowly to the corner of the room near the table. At the same time, Ardana pointed the end of her shotgun straight at the padlock within about three feet.
JDAR!
Krinting!
The square-shaped padlock broke into two uneven sections and fell under the closet door. With one hand fixed to the shotgun, Ardana opened it carefully. The tall thing towering up close to reaching the ceiling seemed unbelievable and in his shadow, something terrifying was about to pounce on him. In fact, what lies behind the closet doors is nothing more than an array of shelves with lots of ATKs (Office Writing Tools) that are very insignificant for the present situation.
Sighing heavily, Ardana closed the cupboard and turned to Paramitha. “It looks like it's on the second floor.”
The two immediately climbed up a straight staircase that was close to the entrance. While recharging the STF/12 ammunition in his hand, Ardana bent his head. Right in front of him was the same cupboard as below in the same position. Not far from the staircase, there were six human bodies in plain black army uniforms with no identification marks or unity symbols lying around, already included with the two they saw from outside earlier. The second floor room turned out to be a place to arrange the departure and arrival of all vehicles parked in the basement area. Including the contents in it that are written with a code combination of numbers and letters that are different from each other. The last date shows all arrived on May 25, 2009 at 16:29 WIB.
Ardana raised her right eyebrow. It was unthinkable to check out all the trucks out there. But the simple map in the dull HVS paper he received from Paramitha attracted more interest to search. He switched on the vault behind them. Just like before, the locking padlock that covered both sides of the door was destroyed with just a single shot.
“It looks like this is a secret passage that was on the map earlier. But... leads to where else?” Ardana looked puzzled while looking again at the map in the paper they found on the first floor. The image of the elongated path that seemed within it broke off just like that, as if the person who made it intentionally did that.
“You sure you want to check the contents?” paramitha asked while looking directly at Ardana.
“Entah, if it is not clear this is the case I became rather lazy to continue it,” replied Ardana with a discordant tone of voice. This young man began to hesitate to enter the secret path, moreover he was worried about meeting some strange monstrous creature or unexpected trap that was difficult to deal with.
“If you have any doubts, let me come in alone. You stand guard again. It seems that this secret path is not too long,” proposed Paramitha.
“Eh, where can that be? I am responsible for your safety,” said Ardana quickly. His facial expression turned anxious.
Paramitha turned her gaze towards the secret passage.
“If not tried, how can we know. My legs have improved from before and I think I can run fast if there is something,” said the girl.
“But in this place no one is completely safe, Mitha.”
“Iya, including with this room. The undead that are near us can live again at any time.”
Ardana was confused. Argued as hard as anything, Paramitha remained adamant on his stance. The girl's constancy can sometimes be very strong more than a rock capable of sinking an unscrupulous ship. However, he could not let Paramitha roam alone just checking for something they did not know about. Inspiration will certainly be very angry if you know the foster child is injured even if only one small scratch or even harm.
“Alright, alright. We'll check it together.” This young man finally gave up on losing to Paramitha.
Without prolonging the debate, Ardana lets Paramitha enter the secret passage behind the vault with her bodyguard. The footwear that meets directly with the hard steel floor causes a rhythmic knocking sound along with the simultaneous footsteps of these two lovebirds. A different atmosphere immediately welcomed them marked by a cooler that was more pronounced than the path or other room. To prevent any unwanted surprises, Ardana replaced her weapon with an SS2 V-4 Pindad assault rifle she retrieved from one of the soldiers' corpses in front of the entrance to the hallway a few days ago. From the very beginning of re-entering that cursed place, this weapon was nothing more than an accessory of her mere self. In addition to the ammunition that is still abundant, Ardana wants to try it directly.
Their journey ends at a closed but unlocked steel door. The hinges looked badly rusted by the rest of the red mucus that had already dried up.
“Uuuuggh... be—weighs once,” sis Ardana while trying to push that door.
NGGHHIII.... KRRRIIIIIIT...!
The sound of steel rubbing against each other until deafening made Paramitha close her ears tightly. The one who suffers from it is certainly Ardana. He did not have time to clot his sense of hearing with something that could dampen the effects of momentary deafness. The steel door finally opened wide. Ardana who felt relieved rubbed both ears while grimacing. His eardrum was almost broken plus a pained sensation that made him very uncomfortable.
“I will no longer open doors like this!” objurgation.
This young man turned his head to Paramitha who was standing right on his right. The girl's expression looked like she was surprised instead of playing.
“This...impossible!” hiss Paramitha was restrained.
“Hey, why?” ask Ardana.
Without waiting for the girl's answer, her face came facing forward.
Dozens of iron beds strewn with human corpses were presented right in front of them. Some were already in a state of being torn apart by the dried blood that flooded the floor. On the ceiling dangled a tangle of interconnected chains, tying together monstrous figures in a variety of seemingly dead forms.
