Sirnasurya Forest
The next morning
Ardana circulated the view, sweeping away all that was reached by his vision. In the morning, the atmosphere in the Sirnasurya Forest is no different from the night. Remain as creepy as it already seems from the outside. The difference, all can be seen clearly without the use of lighting aids. Only in certain areas need such things. And Ardana wants to explore these places.
He and Ilham had been there since six in the morning less than six minutes. As usual, there was no time for breakfast. Initially Ardana wanted to return at night, but was not approved by Ilham. Moreover, it rained heavily the night before and it was very risky. The condition then made them wear thicker HBT jackets, because according to the villagers the cold inside the forest was stronger.
Both proved the words of the local people. Their faces were the first part to be exposed. Ardana was shivering a little but could be restrained. The maroon scarf that Paramitha gave back warmed her neck.
“The people of the village are right,” said Ilham, “the cold is stronger than in the village.”
This man spread his eyes seriously around him. The thin fog still enveloped the forest area. To the extent that his gaze was directed, everything that seemed to be a little faint. The ground they stepped on became wetter than usual, leaving behind a very clear trail of shoes.
“It looks like we better find coffee first, Sir,” said Ardana. From the tone of his voice there was no sign of complaint but Ilham understood the meaning.
“You are.. still have time to think about sitting back and drinking coffee. Remember, our time is only two weeks and what we face is definitely not human,” Inspiration reply.
Ardana grinned, “Not while sitting casually too, sir. If it is only the size of one small cup of espresso, it is more than enough to start the morning.”
“By the way, those creatures didn't appear occultally, did they? There must be a place they hide in the ground or in hidden holes,” he continued guessing.
Inspiration does not answer, but justifies what Ardana said earlier. Yes, he knew the terrible creatures of the past two nights were not the subtle creatures or the forest-waiting dedemites as they circulate in society. He also saw for himself how bullets could hurt some of them.
Slowly the thin fog that enveloped the Sirnasurya Forest began to disappear along with the rising sun. The vision of Ardana and Inspiration is now not limited to a certain distance of sight.
Ardana rigorously attaches hearing. The forest, like some news written in various online media has its own peculiarities. Any animal as if nothing had revealed existence. In other forests will usually be easy to find squirrels who run freely on the branches, birds that chirp flying here and there, to rabbits that play cheerfully. Impressive as a cursed forest in the eyes of some observers, Ardana actually found something else. The impression of the curse is only a nickname because such people never get into it. What Ardana sees firsthand is something worse than the predicate of a cursed place.
The Sirnasurya Forest is a red zone that no human or animal should enter. That's what residents often say from several villages around.
Unlike the locals, Ardana has not found a reason to be afraid. The appearance of the mutant creatures he had faced there was nothing, despite the fact that he had been overwhelmed and panicked. Except.he found something else where he would be completely caught up in the overwhelming fear.
Ardana shook her head while closing her eyes. He refuses to experience it. It was free to be a soldier in the Baihaqi Armed Corps if you had to be brave to face something like that.
“But... Paramitha if angry, yes spooky too!” complaints ingrate. The girl's face while being mrah because her arm was gripped back to the shadow.
“Ardana!” rebuke Ilham suddenly.
Ardana was shocked and opened her eyes again. He looked quickly at Inspiration.
“Mayat... again? Turns out there are still other bodies,” hisses.
Eighteen meters in front of them, a whole human corpse was lying on a mossy boulder. The condition of the bones indicates that the person has been dead for a long time. His face was unrecognizable as it crumbled, like being crushed by something big. His dull red shirt indicates that he is from the area around the forest. A rusty machete located under the rock was most likely his.
Ardana and Ilham approached the corpse together. The young man checked the condition of the victim's bones from head to foot. Only the skull was badly damaged. The rest were no signs of serious violence.
“This one has long since died. In the file of missing persons report given Odang there are indeed some lists that are from other surrounding villages. Could be, this person is one of them,” said Ilham laughed.
Ardana picked up one of the tree branches nearby. With that thing, the skull of an overstretched corpse was tapped with great care. Some parts turned out to be softened and then fell.
“Hmmm... some are soft, yes?” Ilham frowned watching Ardana's actions. He was instantly reminded of a large mutant pacet that swallowed roundly chunks of human legs on the second night of the investigation.
“Is she a victim of that pacet? But it should be swallowed round and round,” guess later.
The rusty machete under the stone was taken and observed for a moment. His view turned to the corpse that was now being examined by Ardana.
“This weapon must have been used to fight. If my guess is correct, the victim was killed by the way his head was sucked something up, then the scars cause an effect that can make the bones become soft and the flesh is almost melted,” he added.
“It's not so, sir. Looks like something different from the estimation of this man died,” said Ardana suddenly. He showed a hollow section behind the head near the nape.
The newly realized Inspiration hurriedly looked. Right said Ardana. The skull part that was swollen turned out to be covered by fallen leaves. When opened, there is a flat hole that is wide enough.
With a little courage Ardana used her index finger to scrape the contents inside the skull.
“Kosong, seems to have been sucked too. My guess is that the victim was attacked from behind while unconscious or trying to escape. Then his body was dragged onto this rock,” said Ardana.
Without interrupting the slightest Inspiration tried to understand Ardana's explanation. This man also allowed. Although he did not know what to use to create a hole in the back of the head like that, he agreed with what Ardana said.
Ardana approached him after the research on the condition of the corpse was completed. According to the procedure, he captured the findings through a smartphone camera and then sent directly to the headquarters.
“You wait here. I want to contact Bhabinkamtibmas in the village,” said Ilham.
The young man glared. Waiting for a dead body and alone in the middle of a creepy forest?
