“Night I heard the sound of an eruption from Sirnasurya Forest, similar to the sound of a gun but many times.”
“Iya, I also heard last night while doing patrols. What's up, huh?”
“Don't have any hunters go in there and become victims again!”
Three villagers seemed serious about something that happened the night before in front of Cikembang Village Puskesmas. From their faces seemed a great anxiety. Something that is common if something happens is related to the Sirnasurya Forest. If it's like that, they assume there are new missing person victims. A simple thought.
Ardana who was not far from them listened carefully. Her lips flicked a thin smile. In civilian clothes as in general, no one recognized his appearance in tactical uniforms like yesterday. This morning he was alone and unaccompanied by Ilham who was still at the village chief's house.
“If only they had seen it happen last night,” his sigh. He fumbled his neck and then sighed. Grateful, because his head is still attached to the body.
Last night's events still loomed over his mind. He would have been almost killed with his head cut off had it not been for the timely help of Inspiration. His body was pierced quickly before the hand of the charred black creature that was intercepting them had slashed his neck. The mysterious monster's sharp nails were really big and sharp, looking like a jumbo-sized sword that was always honed. His attack on Ardana was indeed missed, but when it hit the tree trunk, this scene actually made the young man horrified.
Only once, the tree trunk that was targeted by the attack missed the black creature suffered severe and wide damage. It barely rips up to the middle. Ardana could not imagine that it was his chest or his neck.
Although they were surprised, Ardana and Ilham gave a fierce resistance rather than being killed in a forest that they did not know at all. Both of them pulled out the survival knife after the shot was unable to stop the black creature's rapid movement. Close combat that drained until finally they managed to save themselves. Instead, Ardana had to let her left palm have a severe scratch and now it has been wrapped with a bandage.
After the incident last night, Ardana chose to take a walk to see the situation in the village before Ilham called him to return to depart. There has been no mention of their return to the Sirnasurya Forest. As far as they knew, only the village chief knew the two had entered the Sirnasurya Forest and were shooting in a row as the three locals were talking about.
A surabi seller who held a stall near the puskesmas area became the center of attention. The hunger in the morning prompted him to stop by. From where it stands, the distinctive aroma of surabi cake has tempted his sense of smell. Ardana can guess that traditional sweets are being processed in a way that is still simple. Sure enough, there appeared the seller who was putting the dough into a clay container that was being burned on the stove.
“Surabi.. hmmm can also for breakfast this morning,” murmured while walking.
Ardana took the time to look at the process of cooking surabi cake before finally choosing a seat. First the dough of surabi cake is poured on a container made of clay whose bottom is burned with medium fire. The container was closed to the top to ensure perfect maturity. A few minutes later it opened and the cake was ripe. At the bottom of the cake does appear some parts rather charred as a convincing sign that it is processed by traditional burning. There is no choice of contemporary taste as commonly found in Jakarta or Bogor. Buyers can only choose to add red sugar sauce or with oncom sauce. However, the matter of taste still does not lose.
Two surabi cakes that are poured with red sugar sauce are Ardana's choice. He calmly cut it into small shapes to make it easy to cool and eat. After eating surabi, he ordered four more to be given to Ilham.
Ardana returned to the village chief's house with a banana leaf container containing four surabi cakes with a small plastic wrap containing brown sugar sauce. To get there, he had to cross the village square and take the road to the left where there were several houses and small farms developed by the village. Along the way many residents who also pass or are processing the land earlier.
This young man did not waste the rare sight he would not be able to find in the city. With his smartphone camera, he captured several photos to save and upload to social media. Starting from children who run around cheerfully in school uniforms, farmers who chat up to the ojeg who was carrying passengers.
His shooting activity stopped when he accidentally nudged someone who was passing behind him. A girl with a slightly slender body and straight hair as a boat who was carrying groceries was surprised to see Ardana know-how back up to almost make him fall.
“Eh, ma—maaf. I was not intentionally! I was.... uh, ka—kamu?!”
Ardana's like a choking. Once confused, he was already shocked as he looked at the person he had been nudged by accident. How not, the girl in a white shirt and wearing dark blue jeans that are in front of her has blackish red eyes that are very familiar to her. Paramitha Asmarani Catranata, the girl looked back at him.
“You... Paramitha, right?” ask Ardana slowly.
Paramitha who did not expect to meet the young man who had stopped by at the restaurant where she worked just kept quiet with a less friendly expression. Calling his name freely in public like that even makes him uncomfortable when he does not want to be known by people. Although the appearance of his disguise that was no different from the locals had confused Ardana, in reality the young man could still know it was him.
“Do not mention that name again carelessly in public places. I don't like it!” resounding.
“I—iya, I'm sorry. But... what are you doing here alone?” Ardana looked at Paramitha's eyes, asking for honesty.
“What's the deal with you? I want to rush home,” Paramitha said with a little annoyance.
Ardana clasped Paramitha's arm. “Hei, wait!”
Paramitha immediately turned her head with a fierce look. The girl, although beautiful but looks creepy when feeling disturbed. Especially with both eyes that are blackish red, making Ardana speechless. He did not expect to be looked at like that.
“It seems like he's getting angry. If it's true he's angry, his inner” guesses.
Paramitha sighed softly while closing her eyes.
“Can't you, you don't hold my hand like this?” he asked with a heavy tone like he was holding back anger.
Ardana as if it were falling. Slowly he removed his grasp from Paramitha's arm. Both are now silent. Passing people watched them curiously, probably thinking the two were lovers who were fighting in public. Some mothers just shook their heads weakly while stroking the chest. What Ardana and Paramitha do looks like a quarrel of lovers or husband and wife who carried over to the public. Some of them were staring cynically while whispering to each other.
Realizing that there were many eyes watching her actions earlier, Ardana hurriedly looked away in embarrassment. Then without Paramitha's consent, his hand suddenly grabbed the girl. Of course the embraced one was shocked and glared at him. Ardana chose not to look back at him and invite.
“I'm sorry, huh? I don't mean to be angry, just a little jealous just to see you close to that person. Come on, I'll take you home now!” said Ardana with a tone made as if he was sorry. His voice was hardened because the villagers did not think that no-no about him.
This time Paramitha could not glare anymore. Ardana's words just now seemed to be the key that instantly made him speechless a thousand languages. Inevitably, he let the man continue to embrace her along the way. Ardana led him to enter the road that leads directly to the house of Sumita. It was only after the yard of his friend's house was seen before his eyes, Ardana's hands docked were immediately removed.
“You! What the fuck, anyway?! Not ashamed to see so many people! It was as if embracing like before!” paramitha protests.
Ardana was confused as to how to deal with the girl. Again the look of anger he had to face. Paramitha looked like she was going to eat him alive while no one else was watching.
“Ya... How else? My treatment was like someone who wanted to do violence,” replied while throwing his face.
Ardana's reply even made Paramitha even more upset. Ardana still tried to defend himself so that he did not look directly in the eye. The girl's angry expression turned out to make her half a guts.
“After all we didn't accidentally meet, right? Why... You should be angry?” katilah.
Paramitha was silent. In his heart he confirmed Ardana's words. There was no point getting angry with that annoying young man who was now displaying an innocent pretentious face. Just meeting her has already made her rise in blood. And serving it the same result.
“Yes already, what do you want now? I have to go home before Miss Nina worries about me.” Paramitha began to soften. This time his gaze on Ardana was not as scary as before.
Finally, Ardana dared to look at Paramitha's face. What was in front of his eyes was now the figure of a beautiful girl with an oval face, beautiful eyes though not so wide, straight-haired shoulder to shoulder with a gaze that exuded incredible peace.
He closed his lips to Paramitha's ears. “I came here with Mr. Ilham. You must know him, right?”
