Biohazard's Catastrophe: Death's Hallway

Biohazard's Catastrophe: Death's Hallway
Save Him's

From where she hid, Ardana could clearly see the prowess of something among the puff of smoke that was slowly starting to fade. It was shaped like a huge snake body. Wiggling slowly as if forming waves up and down. Not long after that came some other prowess with the same shape.

KRRRRTKTK! TRRKKK!

The prowess of some giant snake-like objects is like breaking something up many times. Hearing it made Ardana and Paramitha feel pain.

“It.... that was what, Dan?” paramitha asked after getting rid of Ardana's hand that covered her mouth slowly.

Ardana just shook her head without looking. Feeling that something was wrong, he again lowered his body and sat down next to Paramitha. His gaze was between like empty and staring in front of him. His breathing became faster. Without looking again like that, his hand was busy grabbing the sheets of paper on the table.

“Dan, what do you see there?” ask Paramitha again.

The young man still did not answer. His attention was more busy on the sheets of paper trying to be collected while turning his back to the table. A few moments later his attempt succeeded. An insignificant sheet was put aside, until only one paper remained in his grasp. The last image of what is referred to as the Black Blood Experiment.

“It seems...it is indeed his creature. The creature that was on this paper,” his sis.

HUUUUMMM!!

A huge buzzing sound rang out until it echoed throughout the room. Ardana and Paramitha who were both aghast now fell silent and looked at each other with slightly tense faces.

“It's okay. We'll be out of here soon,” Ardana said as she rubbed Paramitha's shoulder.

A human body figure suddenly fell near the table after being thrown from the other side of the room filled with black crust. The splashes of red mucus that covered him almost hit the legs of the two young men. Paramitha who was shocked just turned his back and silenced to see the condition of the body that was already very terrible. Half of the face left to the waist of the body has rotted badly with hanging eyeballs. Six other bodies were thrown and things were not much different.

Even more astounding were the bodies thrown in a damaged state that suddenly regenerated. Red tentacles sprung up from the decaying parts of the body, wriggling about so wildly as to try to reach Ardana and Paramitha.

Jdar! Jdar! Jdar!

The bullets from STF/12 in Ardana's grasp instantly snatched the sixth head of the half-mutant undead before actually rising. This young man only knew that the creature that was making them cornered could infect human corpses and turn them into new monsters. Before the number of corpses thrown towards them grew, he immediately pulled Paramitha out of hiding.

“Come, Mitha! We leave this place!”

Paramitha still had time to look towards the other side of the room filled with black crust. From that direction was a silhouette of something very large resembling a flower, expanding slowly with many long objects wriggling at the base. Just two seconds after the puff of smoke and dust had almost completely disappeared, his true figure was clearly visible. Paramitha finally witnessed firsthand the changes of the experimental creatures present in the paper she found.

KRRAA!! KRRAAKK!!

All parts of his black petals were torn off following a vertical line abruptly, oozing a thick black liquid from the pores in each blood red speck that filled it. The large sharp teeth that adorn the inside and outside grow longer. From the center appeared a lump of red flesh filled with dozens of sharp yellow eyeballs and a mouth filled with hundreds of pointy teeth bathed in blood.

GRRRAAAAAARRRRRFHH!!

Before the creature realizes the existence of the two of them, Ardana rushes faster to take Paramitha away as far as possible. Moreover, after seeing some large tentacles the flower monster began to destroy whatever it was sweeping. Some human bodies spewed from his mouth were also destroyed by the impact of his own tentacles.

BRAKK!

“Aaaaa..!”

Ardana fell to his knees after the steel door of the room he had just passed suddenly came loose and bounced on his back. He bought it and then grimaced. His spine felt like it was almost broken. One of the giant mutant creature's tentacles destroyed part of the wall near the hinge and then bulldozed it.

Paramitha who was right in front immediately turned around to help her stand up again.

“Ardana..!” worried shouts. The girl tried to lift the body of Ardana who had difficulty to get back up. Ardana's thrown shotgun was also taken.

Not wanting to make her lover anxious, Ardana forced herself to stand up straight despite being in the Paramitha Papahan.

“Ti—it's okay. Come!”

“Not worry about me. Come on, faster!”

Ardana tried to run without relying on Paramitha who still broke him. His current condition slightly hindered his speed and so was not free. Paramitha herself tries not to get caught up in the panic. Armed with his past experience entering that area of the underground passageway, he was looking for a safe place to hide for a while. Every intersection and fork of the path he met was always chosen on the right.

Then they found a room measuring 8 x 8 meters which seemed to have been a small clinic. It was marked with some medical equipment left lying dormant inside.

After sitting Ardana in one of the seats near the steel door and stripping her backpack and all her combat gear, Paramitha tried to pull the wheeled bed across the middle of the room to the right side. The scattered fragments of the glass medicine bottle were picked up and carefully removed.

“And, lie down first,” her door while leading Ardana to one of the beds on the right side.

“I can walk alone,” reply Ardana. This young man actually walked alone to the desired bed and then lay on it. For a while his body can be rested even though the condition where they are sheltering is far from decent. Kevlar helmet is removed to be used as a backrest pillow.

After closing the steel door of the clinic room, Paramitha checked the two large glass vaults in the corner of the room. Some versatile items such as emergency lights that are still in good condition and fully charged are neatly stored. He took one of them to light and placed it on the iron table.

The room was now bright enough to allow Paramitha to see how upset she and Ardana were. The young man's dark green tactical uniform was visibly dirty by blood stains and dust in some parts especially the pants. His face looked a little dull exposed to smoke mixed with dirty particles. While himself is also not much different from Ardana. His face still looked cleaner.

“If you want, I can check the condition of your back,” Paramitha said.

Ardana smile. “It's okay, just need to rest for a moment.”

“You sure? Though that was very hard, right?” Paramitha did not immediately trust Ardana who seemed forced to smile.

“I'm serious. It was very painful but not to make my spine damaged let alone broken,” reply Ardana assured.

The young man then tilted his body to the right, facing directly towards Paramitha who was sitting next to his bed. Tired strokes were visible from the face of the Catranata girl although it was slightly camouflaged through the sweet smile on her thin lips every time she looked at her. When in such a difficult condition as this moment, Paramitha turned into a very considerate and not as irritable figure as in their second meeting in the village.

As long as Ardana was still lying down, Paramitha kept them safe. Pindad's G2 pistol that Ardana found and lent to him seemed a little useful. The way to grasp the weapon with the index finger that is not always attached to the trigger makes Ardana more confident in his ability. Moreover, Paramitha was in the care of Ilham until graduating from High School. Its proximity to the underground passageway area of the Sirnasurya Forest and being able to survive in dangerous situations thus far proves its ability in martial arts.

Paramitha only realized Ardana had fallen asleep just like that when she turned down and wanted to invite her to talk. This girl shook her head as she got up from her seat. The maroon woll jacket that protected his upper body was carefully removed and sheathed on the young man. Now he is wearing only a light blue long-sleeved shirt with his sleeves rolled up and creamy chino pants that fit the size of his legs.

“He must be exhausted,” he murmured. He rubbed Ardana's forehead slowly.

The communication device is still embedded in Ardana's left ear. The thing was carefully removed. Curious, he turned it on and it worked. The device is now worn on his left ear.

[Arydana? You're okay there, right? Please answer me and tell me you're okay!]

The voice of someone who was resolute was clear and quite clear despite their position being far underground. Paramitha recognized him as the voice of Inspiration. From his intonation it sounded the man was a bit panicked. Ardana since a while ago did delay confirmation

“Mr? This is Mitha, sir. Ardana is not good. Now that we are hiding temporarily while waiting for her to recover,” Paramitha replied in a low voice.

[Mitha? Thank goodness you survived. Not good...what happened to Ardana?] From across there, Ilam sounded very happy. His voice that originally looked like a panicked person was now turning a little high and stable.

“Ardana suffered a bruise on the back, sir. Being able to throw a steel door while avoiding the rampage of a very large strange creature here. Not bad, just need a few moments rest. Now that he's asleep here,” Paramitha replies.

[Tell Ardana to stay connected with you. And don't get away from her, Mitha.]

“Mitha understands, Sir. We keep trying to get out of here.”

The conversation ended with a feeling of relief approaching Paramitha's heart. At least he can eliminate the worries of Ilham which turned out to have been waiting for news from Ardana about him. Although not asking why he was so desperate to get in there, it was likely that the middle-aged man would shower him with many questions.
