The room with the wide window was still has another part on the right of the entrance, with the same size of 100 x 100 meters. A glass that appears to be transparent to the waist of an adult serves as a barrier. Far in front of them, the entrance to the opposite side covered in something black in the right corner seemed to be tightly locked. The part that Ardana and Paramitha entered resembled a control room with various equipment that they did not know what its function was. Due to the absence of power reserves or other alternative power plants, Ardana could not test everything.
The conditions inside there itself seemed messy. Paramitha again stood in the middle of the spacious room while Ardana was busy wandering around every corner. Some cables in various sizes are already in a state of breaking until the protector peels.
“This room looks like a testing ground. And the one across the transparent glass was definitely there was some sort of. yes, some kind of special place to see the process,”.
Paramitha did not respond. His eyes circulated widely, sweeping every part of the room meticulously with the help of a flashlight in his left hand. Indeed there was no human body they found there, but somehow he felt something that he did not like. Slowly, he headed towards a rusty iron table not far from him. There were several sheets of A5-sized white paper strewn across it. It looks dull and starts to blur but Paramitha can still read the contents quite clearly.
The first sheet contains the anatomy of an unusual-looking flower. It resembles a rose but with abnormal detail because it resembles a butterfly flapping its wings. It is black with many specks of a sharp blood red color. The next sheet contains formulas that are not understood by him. Almost the entire corner is filled with small notes that mention the various possibilities about the regeneration and breeding of the rose seeds earlier.
“You get something?” ask Ardana who just got closer.
Paramitha. “See this, Dan. Maybe you understand,”.
Ardana took the first sheet of paper. From the look of his face he looked seriously pay attention to the picture of the type of flower that he thought was strange.
“Like a rose.. hmmm, but weird. Although not an IPA graduate, the shape is not normal. I see the arrangement of the stalk up to the petals more like a creepy monster,” commented while scratching the back of the head.
Paramitha turned towards the insulating glass behind them. His curiosity to see what was behind there became even greater. The only way to get in there is through a steel door in the right corner, which they see locked tightly.
“This one is a kind of formula, then this one is... uh, wait a minute.”.
Ardana's mouth immediately tightened when looking at the last sheet. His eyes are a little bigger.
“Neng, look at this paper,” he said as he turned to Paramitha. The paper in his hand was given to the girl with a slight hold.
Paramitha took it and looked at the contents. Either to be surprised or how, his clear expression looked flat unlike Ardana's.
THE BLACK BLOOD EXPERIMENT. APPROVED BY BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS PROCUREMENT CENTER DIRECTLY UNDER PRESIDENT JOHAN FACTURIA.
Beyond Paramitha's expectations, Ardana who initially seemed surprised even like she wanted to laugh reading the title at the top of the last sheet of paper.
“What's funny, anyway?” Paramitha seemed to dislike the behavior of the young man.
Ardana grinned amusedly while looking at the girl. “The name of the experiment is ridiculous. The designer must be lazy to think of a better name than this.”
Hearing Ardana's reasoning, Paramitha could only sigh while closing her eyes. The paper in her lover's hand was looked at again. The picture is mentioned as the final change of the rose on the first sheet. It's much more creepy. Red tentacles came out from inside the crown with a human-faced head crushed. All parts of the crown of the flower expand wide with many sharp serrations that are almost incalculable. The designer of the image even accidentally added some formless human corpses and entangled in the entanglement of the creature's tentacles.
“You believe that the object in this picture is back there?” ask Ardana.
Paramitha looked at Ardana, very fixed.
“Maybe. But I haven't heard anything from there.”
The last sheet of paper containing the terrible picture was taken again by Ardana. He led her to walk up to the separation door in the right corner that separated the room they were in with the other part behind the glass partition.
“I took the grenades and explosives from the armory earlier. I'll try to blow this door up to ringsek,”.
The backpack that had been weighing down his spine had been placed on the floor. He picked up an explosive in an aluminum casing about the size of a red brick that had been fitted with an axial cord. Despite not understanding why such dangerous objects are always found in very conventional forms and packaging, Ardana felt it was more than enough to force himself to look for a bomb that can be controlled with a control device.
The outer aluminum wrapper turns out to have been equipped with a super strong adhesive that can stick to any object. After the explosives were pinned to the center of the door, Ardana pressed it slightly to make sure it would not fall.
“Completed,” he said happy.
Ardana approached Paramitha and pulled her out of the room. They're docked behind the steel door. A flare gun returned to his pedestal because he did not carry a match.
“Well, what can I do,” his sigh.
Plump!
As soon as the beacon she shot slid towards the bulkhead door, Ardana jumped to the right and then dropped down. Paramitha, who knew a violent explosion would occur, chose to close her ears as tightly as possible while sitting bent on the floor, only a short span of Ardana's body. Both of his eyes were firmly closed until they looked like they were grimacing.
THE BLEGGAARRR!!
KLONTRAA!! PYARRR!!
The sound of the explosion along with the shattered glass back made the surrounding walls and floor tremble. Ardana could feel the small ruins from the ceiling falling over and around his body. There was a flash of fire that widened out of the door to a few jengkal, followed by a plume of smoke and dust from the debris inside the room that bounced. For a few seconds the two young men did not move until Paramitha opened her eyes slowly while blinking a few times. For a moment his ears were still buzzing and then slowly started to normal again.
She turned to Ardana who was still face down with her hands tightly holding onto Kevlar's helmet. He saw his two lover's hands began to open away from the head and then raised his face.
“I'm fine,” replied Paramitha briefly.
After completely making sure he and the girl were unharmed Ardana prepared her weapon just in case. Still remaining in the docked formation, the two again checked into the room.
What they see now are the remnants of the destruction caused by the explosion that Ardana arranged. Plumes of smoke and dust still lingered on the opposite side of the glass bulkhead. Brick and glass fragments and some operational objects are increasingly making the place more chaotic than before. Hoping that only the bulkhead door would be destroyed, the effect even widened to almost close to the exit that was quite far away.
“Yeah, if only this place was still operating I would have been sued hundreds of millions of rupiah.” Ardana patted her forehead while shaking her head.
Ardana's attention was then drawn to another section across the shattered glass. The dominating black color there was completely blending with the smoke and dust that was still struggling thickly. Again the flashlight could not penetrate it.
“You stay here, just in case something unwanted happens,” forbid it when Paramitha starts following him again.
“But, Dan?”
“No, stay here!”
Ardana stared at Paramitha for a moment. The look in his eyes confirmed that he was reluctant to be followed by the girl to avoid the worst possibility that could happen at any time. For further anticipation he lent his gun to Paramitha.
“Shoot and shoot. You certainly can,” Ardana said as she passed leaving Paramitha towards the wall of the glass barrier. Without any difficulty meant that he jumped at it just like that and then went back to being on standby.
Paramitha observed Ardana's movements with anxious expectation despite her calm face. His feelings suddenly became unpleasant. His premonition said there would be something unexpected that he was desperate to avoid. But he did not try to prevent Ardana's curiosity to check what was behind there.
Ardana who had been blocked through the wall buffer glass bulkhead continued to walk slowly while pointing his gun, penetrating the puff of smoke and dust that was still left. Vaguely, almost all around him was covered by a black color that he thought looked strange. A kind of crust that is left too long to harden but moist. When he looked up, the ceiling in the part where he was now was higher than next to him. After some thought, he deduced the possibility of high from floor to ceiling reaching almost fifty meters.
“Why is the ceiling here higher, yes?” muttered.
Paramitha tried to look. From where he stood he could still see Ardan quite clearly.
“What's up, Dan?” ask him out loud.
Ardana looked towards him. “The ceiling in this section is much higher than where you stand, Neng.”
“Height? How high, Dan?” Paramitha tried to ask for clarity.
“Fifty meters,” sahut Ardana, “from floor to ceiling.”
While shaking his hand, Ardana continued the investigation. Black crust that clumps in the corner of the floor until part of the wall is observed very carefully. He also dared to touch directly. Feels rough and damp. What makes him curious is that when the tested part is pressed with all his might, a change in texture becomes softer.
Ardana frowned in astonishment, thinking she was making a mistake. He repeated the same pressure. The result remains the same.
“Any, it felt rough and hard,” murmured.
Not out of sense, he tried another way. With an iron bar that was found and carried, the part that was tested is now gouged with the object. Now he has got a small piece of the sample ready to put in a different can.
“Eh, Mitha? I told you not to come here!”
Ardana turned her back when she realized there was a movement not far from her. Had thought Paramitha approached him, which was glimpsed it still remains in its original place. Not moving, let alone moving. The girl looked back at him in surprise when she saw the two eyes of the young man watching her with a surprised expression.
Brugg! Gdebrugg!
Two heavy objects fell down and rolled towards Ardana. As it did not seem obvious, he directed the flashlight light to the sound source which was exactly three meters to his right. The two shattered human bodies were shapeless and covered in a blackish-red slime made him shudder in incredible horror. His survival instinct instantly signaled that there was a danger very close to him.
Without wasting any more time Ardana moved quickly over the wall of the bulkhead buffer, returning towards Paramitha.
“Dan, why do you look so panicked?”
Paramitha's question was not answered. What he did instead was hold both the girl's shoulders and then bring her down together to the bottom of the table. The two of them were now protected from anything that would emerge from the front. The bottom of the front and both sides of the table have an iron plate that becomes a barrier.
Paramitha was eager to protest but was prevented by Ardana when her lover's index finger moved to cover her lips. Between wonder and curiosity, her blackish-red eyes glared sharply at Ardana.
“What's up, anyway?! What is—hmmpf..!”
“Sssssshhh! Hold your voice, Neng.”
